'Aura farming?': Veteran Chiefs DL called out by Gen Z teammate at training camp practice
Usually attributed to the extremely-online lexicon of Generation Alpha, aura farming "refers to an act of constantly trying to look 'cool' or 'badass' to build 'aura moments,'" according to the experts at Know Your Meme.
The expression officially became part of the zeitgeist in Chiefs Kingdom on Tuesday, August 5, when star defensive lineman George Karlaftis accused veteran pass-rusher Charles Omenihu of "aura farming" at one of Kansas City's recent training camp practice sessions.
Take a look at this clip of Karlaftis calling out Omenihu, which was posted to Twitter by the Chiefs' official account:
Karlaftis, a native of Athens, Greece, was born on April 3, 2001, placing him squarely in the Generation Z demographic cohort with Omenihu, who originally hails from Houston, Texas, and was born a few years earlier on August 20, 1997.
While neither player necessarily fits the description of a person who would be expected to know what "aura farming" is (let alone one who would be able to use it in context in everyday conversation), this interaction may be a sign that a new "rizz king" or "skibidi toilet" might emerge from Kansas City's training camp activities.
And, if that happens, God help us all (I think?).

Disney's ESPN to acquire NFL media assets in landmark deal
STORY: Disney's ESPN reached a landmark deal with the National Football League to acquire NFL Network, as well as other league media properties, on Tuesday. :: Kansas City Chiefs In exchange, the NFL will take a 10% equity in the sports network. Both parties on Tuesday confirmed the deal, which is still subject to regulatory approval. The Athletic, citing sources, reported it could potentially be worth billions of dollars. ESPN declined to comment on the figure, but said the deal would bolster the offerings on its upcoming ESPN streaming service, which will cost $29.99 per month, and could launch by the end of August, according to Disney's CEO. It will provide access to ESPN's popular studio shows, as well as its wide portfolio of professional and college sports. Under the new agreement, ESPN would own and operate the TV and streaming rights to the NFL Network, which will continue to carry seven games a year. Meanwhile, the league will continue to own, operate, and produce NFL RedZone, a service that allows fans to watch scoring highlights. The league also will retain ownership of certain media properties, such as NFL Films, and platforms such as the NFL Podcast Network and NFL+.
