The Indiana Fever suffered the most significant blow of their 2025 campaign -- at least so far -- when second-year starter Caitlin Clark went down with a quad injury. The team announced on May 26 that Clark was expected to be out "a minimum of two weeks," but last year's Rookie of the Year may be out longer than that.

According to the experts at Sports Injury Central, a collective made up of former team doctors from various professional sports, Clark's injury is likely one that is going to linger at least a month.

"The quadriceps is a major muscle group needed for all skills in basketball and this injury is unlikely to get better in two weeks," Dr. David J. Chao wrote on May 26. "Two weeks is more along a re-evaluation timeline and we expect her to be out closer to a month. The good news, however, is we don't expect this to have long-term effects on her career."
Chao also noted that while her injury likely isn't a long-term one, it could really mess things up for the Fever, who are already 0-2 without Clark in the starting lineup.
"If she misses closer to a month, that is a significant time loss for Clark and the Fever," Chao added. "The WNBA season is only 44 games, being out for close to a month would be approximately 20% of the season. She will miss games vs the Connecticut Sun, Washington Mystics, and two highly anticipated games vs the Chicago Sky in the next two weeks, and her timeline will be updated upon re-evaluation."

The Fever have been bitten pretty hard by the injury bug of late, with both Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham also going down with injuries.
Considering Clark's importance to the franchise, don't expect the Fever and head coach Stephanie White to rush her back.

"And, more likely: a three-year, $165 million extension that includes a player option in the third year. "The short-term extension would allow Doncic to reenter free agency sooner and potentially recoup the $345 million he lost when he was traded from the Mavericks. Doncic, for his part, confirmed to ESPN's Malika Andrews in an interview before the postseason that his intention is to remain with the Lakers. Packers DL Kenny Clark needed surgery in January to correct season-long foot injury Quarterback Jordan Love wasn't the only member of the Green Bay Packers to suffer a season-changing injury in Brazil during Week 1 of the 2024 season. Veteran defensive lineman Kenny Clark revealed Tuesday that he needed surgery this offseason to correct a toe/foot injury first suffered in the season-opener against the Philadelphia Eagles last September. "I had surgery on my foot in January," Clark said, via Ryan Wood of Clark, who signed a three-year, $64 million extension with the Packers last July, said the surgery helped correct a bunion and bone spurs. Clark was consistently listed on the injury report following Week 1 but never missed a game. In fact, he never even received a playing status designation ahead of a game and ended up being on the field for almost 700 total snaps. However, Clark's impact suffered. He finished the 2024 season with 1.0 sack, four tackles for loss, five quarterback hits and only 34 total pressures -- all numbers setting or coming close to setting new lows since his rookie season in 2016. Clark said the injury negatively impacted him for much of the season. For bigger players like Clark, who is listed at 314 pounds, injuries to the feet can be crippling. "A lot," Clark said when asked how much the injury affected his play in 2024. Clark said he is over the injury now and excited for the 2025 season. The Packers signed Clark to a third contract knowing the risk of injury for a player who has played a lot of football is approaching 30 years old.
