BN To Go Into Sabah Polls As A Solid Team
Mohamad, who is also UMNO Deputy President, said the coalition is currently exploring cooperation with Pakatan Harapan (PH) as well as understandings with local parties in Sabah in preparation for the upcoming state polls.
'We are exploring cooperation with PH in Sabah because BN cannot go it alone there, so we need partners to face the state election. We are still considering various aspects, especially seat distribution.

'We don't want confusion. We want to be a strong team, so that voters are not confused and will give their support to strong parties that can govern Sabah,' he said.
He was speaking to reporters after officiating the UMNO Ledang Division Delegates' Meeting, which was also attended by UMNO Ledang Division chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Talib at Dewan Putra Padang Lerek here today.
Meanwhile, in KEDAH, UMNO Wanita Chief Datuk Seri Noraini Ahmad said the wing is conducting a detailed sentiment study to understand voter trends and grassroots feedback, which will be channelled directly to central, division and 'war room' leaderships.

She said the sentiment analysis is being conducted continuously across the country to strengthen the party, and not just for elections.
'For the Sabah state election, the sentiment study has been completed and we leave it to the leadership to disclose the findings,' she said when met after officiating the Kepala Batas UMNO Wanita, Youth and Puteri Division Delegates' Meeting at Kubang Menerung in Kepala Batas.
Noraini, who is also Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, said for the Sabah polls, Wanita UMNO is moving in step with the state UMNO to ensure the election machinery is always at peak readiness.

He said KPKM had approved an allocation of RM6 million for the Onion Cultivation Development Project in three states, namely Selangor, Perak and Kelantan, involving 80 participants with an area of 94.85 hectares (ha), which includes 11 farmers (40 ha) in Selangor, 52 farmers (26.85 ha) in Kelantan, and 17 farmers (28 ha) in Perak. Recently, Kelantan carried out its first harvest with an expected production yield of 18.4 tonnes from an area of 4.6 ha at the Telong Food Production Park (TKPM) in Bachok, which used the BAW-1 and BAW-2 varieties. "This harvest result shows a positive achievement as it recorded high production of around four tonnes per hectare, so Insya-Allah, next year we want Kelantan to become the main producer of this onion because its land is fertile for onion cultivation," he said when winding up the debate on the motion on the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13) for KPKM in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday. Overall, the government has not yet finalised the production cost for one tonne of local onions. "The cost also varies depending on whether it is grown outdoors or in a greenhouse. However, we see that the price gap with imported onions is not too wide," he said. "This year we are focusing on seed production, and next year it will be distributed. Akmal Salleh to be charged under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code in Penang on Friday
GEORGE TOWN: Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has confirmed that he will face court proceedings this Friday. In a post on his Facebook page, Akmal said he had been contacted by police and informed that he would be charged under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code. "However, I am currently performing the umrah in Mecca," he added. "Therefore, I will shorten my umrah and return to face the charge this Friday at the Bukit Mertajam magistrate's court at 8am. "If this is the price I must pay to uphold the sovereignty of the nation, I will not back down even an inch," he said. Section 505(b) of the Penal Code states that anyone who makes, publishes, or circulates any statement, rumour, or report with intent to cause, or which is likely to cause fear or alarm to the public, or to any section of the public, whereby any person may be induced to commit an offence against the State or public tranquillity, shall be punished with imprisonment of up to two years, a fine, or both. Akmal ended his post by requesting prayers and stating: "See you in court this Friday." Last Thursday, Akmal led more than 300 Umno, Bersatu and Pas supporters on a 1.4km march carrying the Jalur Gemilang in a show of respect for the national flag. The gathering followed a recent controversy involving an upside-down Jalur Gemilang displayed at a hardware store in Kepala Batas. Early Saturday morning, Akmal completed giving his statement at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters over the assembly in Kepala Batas. His lawyer, Aizat Azam, said the Merlimau assemblyman had fully cooperated and answered all of the approximately 80 questions posed by the investigating officer.
