Dr. Chopra is a big supporter of ghee, highlighting its immune-stimulating and digestive capabilities.

"Ghee is not merely a fat used for cooking—it's an Indian traditional medicinal superfood," maintains Dr. Chopra. In spite of its relatively high saturated fat status, ghee has been used in Ayurveda for centuries and is one of the healthiest fats to use in moderation.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil, which Dr. Chopra also loves, is chock-full of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs).
These molecules of fat are quickly absorbed and turned into energy, so coconut oil is a great choice for brain and gut support. As per the National Institutes of Health (NIH), MCTs not only provide instant energy but also help regulate several metabolic and neurological diseases.

In an earlier report, Dr. Chopra cautioned that the ingestion of the inappropriate type of cooking oil, particularly refined oils containing high levels of trans fats, will enhance the risk of heart disease, cancer, and obesity. Selecting oils by trends without regard for their compatibility with Indian cooking practices can be more harmful than beneficial.

A leaked email from a person at the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) revealed that transgender veterans eligible for health benefits will no longer receive financial coverage for egg- and sperm-freezing fertility treatments. The email shows the department will no longer cover the costs for those transgender veterans preparing for gender dysphoria treatment and seeking cryopreservation. Dsyphoria treatment is a process in which eggs or sperm (gametes) are frozen and stored to be thawed for later use. "We want to avoid a situation where veterans could be told they are approved for cryo, only to find out after the fact that VA cannot pay for care they received," the email read. Roz Keith, the founder and executive director of the Michigan-based transgender charity Stand With Trans, said the policy was "discrimination." "Clearly, the rights of the trans community are the target of attack," she told Newsweek. "It doesn't matter whether someone is an adult, a minor, a veteran, a professional, or other, if one is trans identified, they are seeing rights being taken away one by one. It is deplorable. If one class of people can receive treatment paid for with their benefits, then other classes of people should receive the same. This is why we have the equal protection clause in our Constitution. Colombo: On the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY), various Sri Lankan Ministers, Parliamentarians, cricket legends, cultural icons, and several locals gathered at the iconic Independence Square in Colombo to practice yoga, highlighting its significance in promoting a healthy lifestyle. The event was organised by the Indian High Commission in Colombo, in collaboration with Sri Lanka's Health Ministry, and witnessed more than 100 yoga instructors from across the island nation, demonstrating yoga to participants, including the country's tri forces, police, students, and yoga enthusiasts. Several senior ministers of the Lankan government, including Anil Jayantha and Chrishantha Abeysena, Deputy Speaker Rizvie Salih and several industry members, joined the event. Meanwhile, several events were also held at Galle, Kandy and Jaffna, organised by the diplomatic offices in Sri Lanka. The 2025 theme, 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health,' has emphasised the connection between personal well-being and planetary health, aligning with India's broader vision of global harmony through traditional wisdom.
