Zayn Malik hints at facing racism during One Direction days in new song

India Today5 days ago
Pop-star Zayn Malik recently opened up about facing racism during his One Direction days. Zayn teased a snippet of his upcoming song along with handwritten lyrics of the song, titled 'Fuchsia Sea'.The snippet soon became viral, not only for its emotional depth, but because of this one particular line that read, "Cause I worked hard in a white band, and they still laughed at the Asian". However, there were no clear indications of whom the 'they' are referred to in the song. Many speculated that the 'Pillowtalk' singer is taking a dig at the band.advertisementCheck out the promo here:

Another wrote, "Cause I worked hard in a white band, and they still laughed at the Asian. Left a Blue mark on a white flag. Then used blood for the painting." YES Zayn Malik speak up. I think these few lines have more words, more artistry than one direction's whole discography, (sic)."

Zayn's journey with One Direction has always been far from straightforward. The band, which catapulted to global fame in the early 2010s with chart-toppers like 'What Makes You Beautiful' and 'Best Song Ever', officially disbanded in 2016.The group, comprising Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and the late Liam Payne, briefly reunited in November last year to mourn Liam's untimely death at the age of 31. It marked the first time in years that the remaining members were seen together in public. As for Zayn, he announced his first-ever solo tour following the split in 2024. Called, 'Stairway to the Sky' tour, it kicked off in October and spanned 11 cities, including Las Vegas, Washington DC, and London. Now, with 'Fuschia Sea' on the horizon, Zayn seems ready to embrace his voice more fully than ever before.- Ends

Lataa Saberwal revealed that she was approached to participate in Bigg Boss 19 but she turned down the offer. Bigg Boss is all set to be back with another brand-new season, and the speculation regarding the contestants' list is already making rounds on the internet. Among the rumoured contestants is Lataa Saberwal, popularly known for playing Akshara's mother in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. A report from Saas Bahu Aur Betiyaan revealed that Lataa was approached to participate in Bigg Boss 19, hosted by Salman Khan. The report further admitted that the actress even agreed to be a part of the reality show, which sparked excitement among the fans who were eager to see Lataa beyond the format of TV serials. However, a recent report by India Forums stated that unfortunately, the actress will not be a part of the highly controversial reality TV show. During a conversation with the outlet, Lataa stated, 'Yes, I was approached, but I'm not doing it." Lataa's simple yet clear statement marked the end of all speculation as she confirmed that despite being considered for Bigg Boss 19, she turned down the offer. The rumours about Lataa's participation in the reality show came just days after her separation from her husband Sanjeev Seth. Lataa and Sanjeev tied the knot in 2010, and after 15 years of marriage, the couple decided to part ways. They share a son together named Aarav. Lataa took to social media to announce the news and requested fans and media not to ask her any questions regarding the reason for their personal decision and urged everyone to respect her privacy. Taking to Instagram, Lataa wrote, 'After a prolonged silence, I declare that I, Lataa Saberwal, have been separated from my husband, Mr. Sanjeev Seth. I give my gratitude to him for giving me a lovely son. I wish him all the best for his future life." As per screen reports, Bigg Boss 19 is set to premiere on the last weekend of August this year and will reportedly continue to run for five months, making it one of the longest seasons yet.
