Yahoo5 days ago
Inter Milan are not seriously targeting Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup despite some recent reports.
This according to Sport Italia transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla. He reports on his homepage that the Nerazzurri do not consider central midfield to be a priority area.
A number of recent reports have suggested that Inter are eyeing up a move for Morten Frendrup.
The Denmark international has been one of the outstanding midfielders in Serie A in the last couple of seasons with Genoa, in terms of his defensive characteristics and ball-winning abilities.
And these are traits which Inter coach Cristian Chivu certainly wants from his central midfielders.

Inter do rate Frendrup highly. However, according to SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla, he is not a player they plan to go after this summer.
The Nerazzurri already have a couple of players with similar profiles to Frendrup in their squad.
Nicolo Barella and Petar Sucic are both players Inter plan to build around next season.
Therefore, Pedulla anticipates, the Nerazzurri are unlikely to attempt to sign a player like Frendrup this summer.

The Frenchman came through Lille's youth team system before making a move to Stuttgart after 25 senior appearances for the club. And Lille see a potential opportunity to bolster their squad in defense. They will be competing in the Europa League this season. According to SportMediaset, however, the French club are still a long way away from convincing Inter on a deal for Pavard. The Nerazzurri may be willing to offers for the 29-year-old this summer. Report – Inter Milan Consider Move For Genoa Star Before Deadline Day

Inter Milan are reportedly considering a move to sign Genoa midfielder Morten Frendrup before the transfer window closes. This according to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri could aim to sign the Dane after their pursuit of Manu Kone came to nothing. Inter Milan are already fairly well-stocked in midfield. However, there are questions about whether the Nerazzurri have the right profiles for new coach Cristian Chivu. Inter have a number of midfielders who suit the 3-5-2 system well. However, Chivu has been trying to change the Nerazzurri over to a 3-4-2-1 formation. And there aren't many players who really fit into the double pivot of such s shape. However, the Nerazzurri have not managed to sign Kone. Roma decided to reject their advances for the 24-year-old. Therefore, reports the Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter could look elsewhere to bolster their midfield with a similar profile.

(Photo by) According to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, Chivu will take this evening as an opportunity to bed in a couple summer signings. By and large, the broadcaster anticipates, the coach will go with the first-choice starting eleven. Therefore, that means that mostly it will be a team of players that started regularly last season. However, in midfield, Petar Sucic will get the starts, reports Mediaset. The Croatian international will get the nod ahead of Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Therefore, that looks to be a signal that Sucic will be a regular starter next season ahead of Mkhitaryan.
