11 foreign nationals refused entry at Bukit Kayu Hitam ICQS Complex
The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) said those denied entry were nine men and two women from Bangladesh, Thailand, India and Sri Lanka.
'Under the current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), all individuals were instructed to return to their countries of origin immediately via the same entry point,' the agency said in a statement on Wednesday (Aug 6).
The AKPS reiterated that it views any attempt to enter Malaysia without adhering to immigration laws seriously and it will not compromise with any party seeking to exploit the country's immigration facilities.
"We are committed to safeguarding the nation's sovereignty and border security against any form of threat.
"We will also continue to tighten control and inspections at all entry points to ensure that only genuine foreign visitors who meet entry requirements are allowed into Malaysia," the agency added.

SEPANG: An Indian national was arrested at Terminal 1 of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) after authorities discovered 2,500 red-eared slider turtles worth an estimated RM348,000 hidden in his suitcase. The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (MCBA) said the man, who was scheduled to board a flight to Bengaluru, India, was detained at the departure gate at about 10.05pm on Tuesday. "Further checks found thousands of red-eared slider turtles hidden in his suitcase. "The exotic animals were seized for further investigations under the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010 and the International Trade in Endangered Species Act 2008," the statement said. Based on the images shared, the red-eared slider turtles — a semi-aquatic species — were found stuffed inside several plastic containers and small boxes before being placed in the suitcase. MCBA said the successful seizure resulted from integrated inspections and close cooperation between KLIA's MCBA, the Department of Wildlife and National Parks, Aviation Security, and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad in tackling rampant wildlife smuggling Red eared slider turtles are often smuggled due to their popularity in the exotic pet trade and status as an invasive species. High demand and import bans in many countries drive the illegal trade.

[UPDATED] Police confirm plan to question Eda Ezrin, five others
KUALA LUMPUR: Federal police will record dikir barat singer Eda Ezrin's statement upon her return to Malaysia following the discovery of yaba pills in Thailand last year. Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said all other individuals involved would also have their statements recorded. "Our Thai counterparts have already informed NCID about the release of these individuals," he said when contacted today. Hussein said the NCID would summon them for questioning and conduct urine tests. "They are expected to be handed over by the Thai authorities at the Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex, after which NCID Kelantan will take the necessary actions," he said. It was reported that Malaysian singer Eda Ezrin was released from prison here yesterday after being held for almost nine months. Eda Ezrin and the five others were detained by Sungai Golok police in a raid at a hotel on Nov 1 last year.
