FM hands over message from president Sisi to Tunisian president
CAIRO - 19 April 2025: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met with Tunisian President Kais Saied during his visit to Tunisia.
Abdelatty conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to his brother Saied. He handed over a message from president Sisi to the Tunisian president on bilateral relations between the two sisterly countries. Abdelatty commended historical relations and brotherly bonds between Egypt and Tunisia. He also hailed the quantum leap in joint ties in the recent period. He confirmed Egypt's utmost keenness on achieving more development in bilateral ties and promoting joint cooperation and coordination in different fields as per presidential directives. The foreign minister said Egypt is looking forward to the convocation of the 18th session of the Egyptian-Tunisian Joint Higher Committee in Cairo, led by the prime ministers in the two countries. He praised the outcomes of the meeting of the 6th session of the joint industrial and commercial committee, chaired by the ministers of trade in the two countries, which was held in Tunisia on April 15-16. Meanwhile, the meeting discussed several pressing issues at the Arab arena, topped by the Palestinian cause. Abdelatty highlighted tireless efforts exerted by Egypt to resume the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance into the war-torn enclave. The meeting also probed the Arab-Islamic Early Recovery and Reconstruction Plan with the presence of the Palestinians and next moves to support the plan.
Discussions dwelt on the situation in Libya, Sudan, Syria and Egypt's painstaking efforts to back regional security and stability.
