Jon Moxley will defend his AEW championship Sunday evening against Cope in the main event of AEW Revolution.
Moxley has been wrestling professionally since 2004 and is in his fourth reign as champion, the most of any wrestler in the organization's six-year history.
Cope brings over 30 years of experience to the match. He missed nine years because of a neck injury before returning to action in 2020 as a surprise entrant in the WWE's Royal Rumble event. He joined AEW in October.

In his first run from 2010 to 2014, he won the Royal Rumble, the Money in the Bank ladder match, and was a four-time world champion. He was one of the top heels in the entire company. The Power of Rey Mysterio Previous reports have indicated that while some WWE talent were pushing for Del Rio's return, the company itself had no interest in bringing him back to the main roster due to his controversial past. However, a public endorsement from a universally respected legend and locker room leader like Rey Mysterio carries a great deal of weight. Mysterio's promise to the fans could be the first step in opening a door for his former rival. With the new WWE-AAA partnership, a role for Del Rio within the AAA brand could be a logical way to bring him back into the fold without placing him on Raw or SmackDown. The company has found success using the "Heatwave" name for a popular annual NXT special. WWE's History with the ECW Brand WWE purchased the assets of ECW in the early 2000s, giving them the rights to the promotion's tape library and all of its intellectual property. The company has had a mixed history with the brand, finding massive success with two "One Night Stand" reunion pay-per-views in 2005 and 2006. However, their attempt to revive ECW as a full-time, weekly television brand from 2006 to 2010 was met with a more negative reception from hardcore fans. The choice to use an edgy, beloved ECW name for this new, competitive main roster event is a deliberate and symbolic one. It is a clear statement of intent from WWE as they prepare to go head-to-head with AEW in a way they have not done since the "Wednesday Night War" ended in 2021. On Saturday night (Aug. 16) in Mexico City, AAA ran their version of WrestleMania for the first time since WWE's purchase of the lucha libre promotion. Triplemania XXXIII streamed free on YouTube (and on three different channels: WWE's, WWE Espanol's, and AAA's), and featured several WWE talents on the card — with more making surprise appearances during the event. As they are wont to do even when they're not in 'wrestling war' mode, WWE sent out a press release the Monday after the show making much of Triplemania's impressive performance on several key business metrics.
