Denise Welch appears to be in tears during emotional chat with son Matty Healy

Denise Welch has been pictured apparently crying while sharing an emotional conversation with her son, rockstar Matty Healy.
The Loose Women panelist, 67, joined Matty, 36, on the sidewalk outside of a Los Angeles restaurant where he'd shared a meal with fiancée Gabriella Bechtel.
Matty and musician, actress, and model Gabriella Bechtel – known professionally as Gabbriette – first became linked in September 2023.
After being spotted together in September that year, they later confirmed their romance and were engaged by June 2024.
While former Coronation Street star Denise was less than complimentary about Matty's ex – pop sensation Taylor Swift – she's previously described Gabriella as 'everything I would want in a daughter in law.'
In images taken as the trio shared a meal together in Los Angeles, mum Denise took a moment for what seemed to be an emotional conversation with The 1975 frontman Matty.
In the images, Matty joined his mother outside the restaurant where they had been dining with Gabbriette, 28.
As Matty lights up a cigarette, it looks as though Denise begins crying.
Denise wore a light blue blazer over a white t-shirt with stripes, and rolled up blue trousers with a pair of chunky wedge shoes.
Matty, meanwhile, wore a pair of grey-tinged jeans and a dark sweater.
Other pictures from the evening showed Matty and Gabbriette as they left the restaurant together, with Matty covering his thick head of hair with a baseball cap.
In these images, Gabbriette wore a short-sleeved black top with dark coloured jeans and a pair of knee-high boots.
They made their way hand-in-hand down the stairs, apparently laughing and joking as they made their exit.
In a separate image, Denise can also be seen leaving the building, looking serious as she's helped down the steep steps.
Prior to his relationship with Gabbriette , Matty dated Tortured Poets Department songstress Taylor Swift.
Matty and Taylor reportedly dated for one month in 2023 before things 'fizzled out' and they ended their breakup.
When asked about her son's relationship with the Cruel Summer hitmaker, on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Denise joked: 'Obviously, on pain of death can I talk about that episode.'
She then added: 'But being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad that I lost.'
'Not that I have anything against her at all,' she clarified, 'It was just—it was tricky.' More Trending
She added: 'Listen, you're not allowed to say anything, and then she writes a whole album about it.'
By contrast, she opened up about her son's engagement on an episode of Loose Women earlier this year, saying of Gabbriette: 'We couldn't be happier. She is everything I would want in a daughter in law.'
Gabbriette herself confirmed rumours of their engagement with a post to Instagram, sharing a snap of herself wielding a chunky great engagement ring while at a Charli XCX concert in New York City.
She captioned the post: 'MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT.'

Coronation Street fans 'work out' who Tia Wardley really is - and it's not Becky

Coronation Street fans think there may be more to the mystery Tia Wardley amid theories it's Lisa Swain's late wife Becky Swain under a new identity on the ITV soap Viewers of Coronation Street think they may have figured out the truth about the mystery Tia Wardley. ‌ The name was mentioned on Friday during a scene with Carla Connor and Logan Radcliffe, and it appears 'Tia' is linked to the death of Lisa Swain's late wife Becky Swain. Carla was trying to get answers for partner Lisa from Logan, as he was in the car that killed the police officer in the line of duty. ‌ There's still so much confusion over Becky's demise and what happened prior to the event, and at the time. It comes following suggestion Becky was a corrupt officer, and that this could have led to her being killed - while this has often been downplayed. ‌ So when Carla demanded answers from Logan just as Lisa was snooping in Becky's files at the police station, she was intrigued when Logan gave her the name 'Tia Wardley'. There was no context and when Carla did some digging, she found nothing. It has to be important though, as it left Logan in danger later on when a cellmate told him he'd upset a "mutual friend" by saying too much. Logan insisted he'd said nothing but his cell door was closed, implying he was facing a beating or worse to be silenced. ‌ So what has Logan said with that one name, and why is Tia so relevant to the case and Becky's death? Amid theories it could be Becky's new identity and she's still alive, other fans have come up with a new idea. Fans think the name might not be a person, but maybe a place or even a code name. They suggested it could be an anagram or just a code for something else. ‌ From a building to a location or area, fans think Tia means something and it's linked to what led to Becky dying. Taking to social media, one fan theorised: "Wardley is a suburb of Salford where #Corrie is set. Just saying!" Another fan said: "Walk with me... what if it's not Tia (woman) but T.I.A. (a dodgy company) in Wardley.. Like summat, summat & Associates - Wardley? A shady accounting front for laundering? Becky found out. Costello tried to protect her by framing her, but the OCG had her [killed]?" Other fans thought it was a person, but still was not Becky. A viewer posted: "What if Becky had an affair with Tia Wardley?" Another said: "I wanna know who this tia is. Did Becky have an affair with tia behind Lisa's back?" BBC Breakfast's Nina Warhurst returns to show after family death as fans rush to support

BBC Breakfast star Nina Warhurst has made her return to the show after a heartbreaking family death BBC Breakfast presenter Nina Warhurst has returned to the programme after her father's passing. ‌ The popular morning show was back on air on Sunday (August 3) with Ben Thompson and Nina presenting together once again. ‌ It's been a tough period for Nina, who recently revealed that her father had passed away peacefully in a care home on July 2 after a prolonged struggle with dementia. ‌ Sharing a touching black-and-white image of her hand clasped with her father's, she penned: "My Dad died on Wednesday night. From Sunday me, my Mum and sisters spent precious time with him around the crying, laughing, sharing memories. On his last day we had nursing home afternoon tea, chippy chips and wine together. ‌ "He drifted away gently with me and Amy (Nina's sister) holding him and telling him to 'go head. We'll see you there soon.' And he did. I had my hand on his heart as the ripples softened and stopped.", reports the Express. "A gentle end to a gentle life. So much love and laughter and sunshine across days I'll never forget. He is in my mind all the time now as we adjust to a world without him in it. ‌ "I can't quite accept that's real yet. But we think it's really important for anyone going through this to know that the end can be peaceful and beautiful." Supporters immediately flooded Nina with messages of comfort at the time. One viewer commented: "Oh my darling, this is such sad news. He seemed like a beautiful soul." Another said: "So sorry, dear Nina and family. You did him proud. Always." ‌ However, a few weeks later and on Sunday, Nina was back on the famous red sofa on BBC Breakfast - and fans were more than chuffed to see her back. On X, one person penned: "Lovely to see Nina this morning." Nina's father Chris, had been diagnosed with mixed dementia, which is Alzheimer's and vascular dementia, in April this year, she spoke candidly about how his condition had affected her life. The mum-of-three penned in an Instagram post: "I don't think I really became a proper grownup until we had to look after my Dad. Because of dementia I lost the home I could go to and still be a child. I lost one of those few pillars of people who I knew would love me, whatever. I thought that support was lost. But now I know that just being with him is enough. I don't know if it's primal, hormonal, chemical, emotional….. but leaning my head on his chest and closing my eyes for a few minutes gives me the sense of safety and love that I've always had and that I still need." BBC Breakfast airs everyday from 6am on BBC One.
