5-star Oregon Football target teases major news The Oregon Ducks could be getting some major recruiting news in the near future. On Friday morning, 5-star cornerback Brandon Arrington, one of the top prospects on Oregon's recruiting board, took to social media to tease some "big news" coming soon. This comes just days after taking an official visit to see the Alabama Crimson Tide, and a week after taking is OV to Eugene to see the Ducks. Arrington stands at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, and is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 10 player in the 2026 class and the No. 1 ATH. From Spring Valley, California, Oregon has been recruiting him heavily for a long time now and is projected as one of the favorites to land him. There are currently no Crystal Ball projections for Arrington on 247Sports, but the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Texas A&M Aggies as the heavy favorite to land the 5-star player, with Steve Wiltfong logging a prediction all the way back in October of 2024. We will see what Arrington's "big news" is at some point this week, but there should be some confidence among Oregon fans that it is positive for the Ducks. 4-Star running back DeZephen Walker commits to Oklahoma Sooners Though it was a lighter weekend in terms of the number of prospects in Norman for official visits, the Oklahoma Sooners continue to move the needle with recruits in the 2026 recruiting class. The Sooners hosted four-star running back DeZephen Walker over the weekend, and on Monday, the blue-chip prospect out of Missouri committed to the Oklahoma Sooners. Walker is considered the No. 17 running back in the 2026 cycle according to 247Sports and No. 18 according to Rivals. He's a consensus top-five player out of the state of Missouri and has 26 Power Four offers, including nine SEC offers. Walker is a 5-foot-10, 180-pound running back and is a big-play threat every time he touches the football. He displays great patience and vision after receiving the handoff. He does a really good job at setting up his blocks and then bursting through the hole. Walker has the speed to run away from the defense and fantastic lateral agility to make defenders miss in the open field. He can run between the tackles and has the speed to take the ball off tackle on stretch plays. Walker is able to run through arm tackles and falls forward when tackled. He also displays soft hands that will make him a threat in the passing game. Walker is the Sooners' 11th commitment in the 2026 cycle and the only running back currently committed to the class. Get a look at former Ohio State quarterback Will Howard throw deep balls to youth campers Has there been a quarterback in Ohio State football history who made an impact on the fanbase like Will Howard? He said all the right things, showed passion and leadership, and it didn't hurt that his one year in the Scarlet and Gray resulted in a College Football Playoff national championship. On top of it all, he gets the big picture and has no problem giving back in the community. The latest example of that was seen this past weekend when he visited former teammate Jack Sawyer's youth camp in Pickerington, Ohio, to be a part of all the fun with some of the youth that made it out to the festivities. One of the funniest -- and cutest -- moments was captured on film by local Columbus CBS affiliate WBNS 10TV, Adam King when Howard huddled up with an offense of only receivers apparently and told them to go deep. Some funny comments about Jeremiah Smith ensued and Howard completed a pass to one of the myriad of youth receivers. In the huddle pre-snap, Howard tells the kids, "Everybody run into the end zone as fast as you can. Be like Jeremiah Smith, alright," said Howard. "But no catching with one hand," quipped one of the campers who found agreement among others. "Yeah, no catching with one hand because ... we're not Jeremiah Smith," Howard replied in agreement. The current Pittsburgh Steeler then lobbed a long pass that was caught and celebrated. Watch the short interaction below and let a little smile form in amusement. You have to love this. Howard will forever be a champion on and off the field. Don't bet against him doing some of the same things in Pittsburgh that he was able to do on the banks of the Olentangy once his NFL career begins to heat up.
