Plane passenger reveals pilot's shockingly bold pick up move

Daily Mail20-05-2025

It sounds like the plot of a Hallmark movie - only with a real-life pilot, a handwritten napkin note, and TikTok playing the role of narrator.
An Ohio woman has gone viral for sharing the high-flying details of how she met her now-boyfriend: an airline pilot who spotted her in an airport, followed her onto a flight, and passed her a note that kickstarted their romance.
Tanya Pidgorodetskiy, 25, had no idea she was boarding a flight into her own love story when she flew home to Cleveland from Charlotte, North Carolina.
While waiting at the airport, she caught the eye of a tall man in a pilot uniform.
He caught hers too.
'He was at least a head taller than everyone else,' Tanya recounted in a now-viral TikTok series.
'But I didn't think anything of it… until I boarded the plane.'
The mystery man - later revealed to be Wesley, an off-duty captain for Frontier Airlines - happened to be heading to Ohio for his next assignment.
But his attention wasn't just on his upcoming route.
According to Tanya, he waved at her nephew while she made her way down the aisle, and though they didn't speak during the flight, she got a surprise just before landing.
'I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around,' Tanya explained.
'It was him. He handed me a napkin. I was completely confused.'
The note, charmingly scribbled on the impromptu paper, read: 'Hi, I'm sure you get notes like this all the time, but I would love to take you out to dinner and get to know you.'
Turns out, the pilot had never pulled a move like this before.
A flight attendant reportedly 'hyped him up' and even helped him write the message.
Tanya texted him the next day, and the pair went out for dinner shortly after.
That Halloween meet-cute turned into an hours-long date that ended with them walking around the city.
Since then, she says they've been 'inseparable.'
In a follow-up video, Wesley can be seen bonding with her niece and nephew at Top Golf.
Tanya captioned it with an emotional reflection: 'The fact that I almost didn't take the flight and now the pilot who handed me the note is teaching golf to my niece and nephew… The butterfly effect is too real.'
Their story has charmed TikTok commenters, with users swooning over the timing, the boldness, and the unfolding of their romance.
The couple recently revisited their first date spot - only to find a mural that read: 'The only lie I ever told you is that I liked you when I already knew I loved you.'
Fitting, considering Wesley told her he knew within five minutes that she was 'the one.'

The First Night With The Duke – K-drama Episode 1 Recap & Review

Reading a Book is Like Living Someone's Life Episode 1 of The First Night With The Duke begins with a woman narrating the story of a young orphan in the Joseon era. The orphan goes through many tribulations until one fateful day when she is adopted by the richest merchant in the land. Soon, she meets with a prince, and they fall madly in love. As with all fairy tales, there is a villain who hates the woman for her beauty and luck. Obviously, there is also a second male lead who falls for the woman. The prince and the fair lady are about to get married when the story is cut short before we get to the juicy parts. Presently, we are introduced to a woman reading the book. She loses it when she learns the author is discontinuing the story. She takes to social media to curse the author and declares she could write a better book. As she gets up from her bed, she slips and wakes up as a character in her favourite book, The Obsessive Tyrant. She finds herself in the Joseon era, playing the role of Cha Sun-chaek. In the book, she is a supportive character and the only daughter of the Chief State Minister. She lives a spoilt life as her parents and three brothers pamper her. By her side is her trusted maid, Wool-yi, who struggles to understand Sun-chaek's new mannerism. The family enjoys a luxurious breakfast. They all notice that Sun-chaek is acting weird, but choose to overlook it. They assume that she has finally grown up and is ready for marriage. Meanwhile, Sun-chaek tries to remember the details in the books to figure out how to survive in this new world. Her brother mentions an upcoming event for the unmarried noble women and asks Sun-chaek to attend. Her father gives her a lot of money to go shopping ahead of the event. As the day progresses, Sun-chaek decides to enjoy being a supportive character in her favourite book and watching everything in person. She realises she is just at the beginning of the book and excitedly gets ready to see her favourite characters get together. While shopping, she has the unfortunate opportunity to run into the main villain of the story, Do Hwa-seon. Hwa-seon insists on getting the clothes Sun-chaek had already ordered from China. To avoid getting the villain's attention, Sun-chaek agrees to give up her beautiful new dresses. Hwa-seon invites her to tea, but changes her mind when Cho Eun-ae shows up. It turns out Cho Eun-ae is the main lead and the adopted daughter of the richest merchant. As expected, Hwa-seon hates Eun-ae and feels she has no noble blood. It peeves her that everyone loves and praises Eun-ae for her beauty and kindness. In fact, Hwa-seon plans to teach Eun-ae a lesson during the event later that night. Hwa-seon's mood shifts after seeing Eun-ae, and she postpones her tea date with Sun-chaek. As the day drags on, Sun-chaek uses her binoculars to watch the capital. She sees the handsome main lead, Prince Yi-beon, arrive on a horse. As expected, Prince Yi-beon oozes charisma and has a mysterious aura around him. He is rumoured to be heartless and the king's beloved assassin. No one dares to look him in the eye. There is also a rumour that the women who sleep with him are forced to be nuns. As the villagers go on and on about Prince Yi-beon, the second lead, Jung Su-gyeom comes to his defence. He joins Prince Yi-beon as he rides his horse around the capital. On the way, Hwa-seon has an accident and is nearly run over by the prince's horse. However, Prince Yi-beon didn't even notice her. On the other hand, Su-gyeom is drawn to the beautiful Eun-ae. Soon, nightfall arrives, and the unmarried noble women meet to socialise. As planned, Hwa-seon leads the other girls to mock Eun-ae. They even go as far as to allude that she is her adopted father's mistress. Hwa-seon intentionally drops her glass and asks Eun-ae to clean up after her. In the process, Eun-ae gets a cut on her fingers. Sun-chaek cleverly comes to her aid without Hwa-seon noticing. To help Eun-ae and prevent the night from getting worse, Sun-chaek suggests that the ladies enjoy some alcohol. The other ladies agree, and Eun-ae has her servants bring the alcohol. Sun-chaek becomes the star of the night as she introduces cocktails to the group, and they drink without a care in the world. As the ladies get rowdy, Prince Yi-beon chases after a man suspected of planning treason. The man offers to give Prince Yi-beon his freedom from the king and the crown if he joins them. However, the prince has no desire to steal the crown and kills the man. He walks to the river to clean himself up and agonise over killing someone. Back at the town centre, the loud, drunk ladies draw a crowd. Everyone comes to see what the fuss is all about. Su-geyom is intrigued as he watches Sun-chaek mix the cocktails. As the night deepens, Sun-chaek gets drunker. She excuses herself to get some fresh air and runs into Prince Yi-beon. The next thing she knows is waking up in Prince Yi-beon's bed. He is surprised by her shocked look and tells her about the passionate night they had. Of course, Sun-chaek doesn't remember how she ended up in his bed and his arms. The Episode Review OMG! This episode was a lot of fun. It is nice to see Ok Taecyeon and Seohyun back on our screens. The plot is nothing new, but it is still refreshing to watch. Sun Chaek was only supposed to be a spectator, but now she has ended up in the main lead's bed. She must have been extremely drunk to forget such a night, but more importantly, what happens now? This might only be the first episode, but things are looking promising. Ok Taecyeon flawlessly portrays Prince Yi-beon so well. Seohyun also holds her own as the cheerful female lead who finds herself living inside her favourite book. The supporting cast adds more depth to the story. The cinematography is effortlessly beautiful, and we look forward to seeing more of this fantasy world. Next Episode Expect A Full Season Write-Up When This Season Concludes!

The First Night With The Duke – K-drama Episode 2 Recap & Review

The First Night In Their Lives Episode 2 of The First Night With The Duke begins with a flashback to the night Sun-chaek met the prince. She excused herself to get some fresh air and wandered near the river. While there, she started thinking about the exciting moment when the two leads of the story meet and fall in love. As she drunkenly walks back, she trips, but the prince saves her from falling into the river. Of course, Sun-chaek recognises him, but he draws his sword as she excitedly grabs him. She starts challenging him and suddenly kisses him out of the blue, remarking on how handsome he is. She starts talking about his internal anguish over killing people. She adds how she understands him and goes on to comfort him. The Prince is shocked as no one has ever dared to look directly at him or challenge him like this. Somehow, one thing leads to another, and she and Prince Yi-beon share a steamy night. Presently, Sun-chaek wakes up in Prince Yi-beon's bed with no recollection of the passionate night they shared. Prince Yi-beon leaves after getting dressed, but he warns her to stay put. On his way out, he asks his head servant to send a wedding proposal to Sun-chaek's family. Meanwhile, Sun-chaek ignores the prince's warning and sneaks out of his compound. She ends up wandering in the street when Eun-ae finds her. Eun-ae invites her to have tea together. As they talk, Eun-ae thanks Sun-chaek for helping her the previous night. The conversation turns to how Sun-chaek disappeared after her cocktails became a great hit. Eun-ae asks Sun-chaek to teach her. Distressed, Sun-chaek asks if Eun-ae has met the prince yet. Eun-ae explains she hasn't, and that she is scared to meet him, given the rumours surrounding him. She suggests that the prince might have a vitality problem, and Sun-chaek jumps to the prince's defence. Eun-ae is surprised by the spirited defence while Sun-chaek starts mentally recalling her night with the prince. Eun-ae asks Sun-chaek to be friends, and the latter agrees. However, Sun-chaek worries over how the events of last night have changed the story. She bids Eun-ae goodbye and continues wandering the street in deep thought. At the palace, Prince Yi-beon updates the king on the rebels from the Heuksa Clan. The king is concerned about getting China's approval and an official appointment. However, the prince suggests they focus on getting the people's approval first. Unfortunately, the king ignores this advice and asks Prince Yi-beon to join and lead an envoy to China. The prince courteously refuses and explains he intends to get married. Initially, the king thinks he is joking. After seeing that Prince Yi-beon is serious, the king gives him three months to figure his love life out. After Yi-beon leaves, the king asks one of his guards to keep an eye on Prince Yi-beon. Admittedly, the king thinks that the prince is acting strangely. Outside, Prince Yi-beon runs into the King's mother. She suggests that he attend her banquet to pick a wife, but Prince Yi-beon turns her down. He seems wary of the King's mother and quickly leaves. One of the maids informs the King's mother that Prince Yi-beon brought a woman home the previous night. The King's mother hints that there is bad blood between her and Prince Yi-beon because of something that happened in the past. In the meantime, Wool-yi finds Sun-chaek roaming the streets. She quickly informs Sun-chaek that her family is currently out, but the prince's wedding proposal has arrived. Sun-chaek and Wool-yi rush to stop the messenger from delivering the message. On the way, they run into Prince Yi-beon. Out of desperation, Sun-chaek stands on his way and is nearly hurt by his horse. Thankfully, Prince Yi-beon manages to dodge her. The two talk, and Prince Yi-beon insists that they must take responsibility for what happened. He is set on marrying her after spending their first night together. Sensing that talking to the prince is a lost cause, Sun-chaek asks for time to tell her family. The Prince gives her three days and warns her not to try to run away. He tells her that he will accuse her of treason if she does. Sun-chaek pictures her family being led to their execution thanks to her stubbornness. A short while later, Hwa-seon visits Sun-chaek to confirm if the rumours about her and the prince are true. To defend herself, Sun-chaek makes things worse. In the end, Hwa-seon vows to get her revenge. Meanwhile, Su-gyeom grows curious about Prince Yi-beon's attitude change. At the same time, the head servant advises Prince Yi-beon not to use force to win over Sun-chaek's heart. Unfortunately, Sun-chaek refuses to heed the Prince's warning and comes up with multiple plans to escape him. All of her plans to leave the capital fail. The prince knew she would try to run and planned accordingly. After all her attempts to escape fail, Sun-chaek figures she will make the prince fall out of love with her. She tries to present herself as dirty, but this fails. She then tries to present herself as a worldly woman with expensive taste, but this also fails. She uses a compatibility test to show they are cursed if they get married, but the prince doesn't change his mind. Lastly, she tries to become a monk, but he stops her. He reveals to the head monk that Sun-chaek is no longer a virgin and forces her to give up being a monk. After failing to lose favour with the prince, Sun-chaek tries to escape at night. Unfortunately, she runs into thieves in the middle of the forest. Su-gyeom comes to her defence and walks her back home. He invites her to join his Seonmun club. It is a drinking club disguised as an astrology club. Sun-chaek agrees to attend once since Su-gyeom insists she must teach him how to make cocktails. As they talk, Prince Yi-beon appears and declares that Sun-chaek can't join the club. Su-gyeom is puzzled and asks why. The prince goes on to say that he will forbid the unmarried people in town from meeting, as he has to protect something. Suddenly, Sun-chaek's brothers arrive home drunk. They are startled to see Prince Yi-beon, especially after he refers to them as brothers-in-law. He is about to explain in detail when Sun-chaek tries to intervene and faints. Prince Yi-beon pushes Su-gyeom out of the way to make sure Sun-chaek falls into his arms. Everyone is shocked while Sun-chaek internally ponders if death is the only thing that will save her from the obsessive prince. In the epilogue, we see Prince Yi-beon confront the thieves who attacked Sun-chaek. However, he spares their lives as he hurries to catch up with her and Su-gyeom. The Episode Review Sun-chaek is so funny. She went from a supporting character to the female lead after spending a night with the prince. Now, he won't let her go, and she has no idea what will happen next. She wanted to write the book herself, so she'd best get to it! I wonder what she will do next. The prince doesn't seem like a bad person, and she might be better off by his side. After all, a moment like this doesn't come easily in life! On a side note, if you were sent as a character in one K-Drama, which one would you pick? This episode delivers another entertaining watch though. The First Night With The Duke is slowly becoming our weekly favourite show and after this double bill of episodes, it certainly looks to be cementing its place as a mainstay. If they maintain this pace, we will have another historical K-Drama hit on our hands! Previous Episode Next Episode Expect A Full Season Write-Up When This Season Concludes!

B.J. Novak's rumored love interest Delaney Rowe claims her partner doesn't 'trust' her as fans blast mystery man

B.J. Novak's rumored love interest Delaney Rowe has said that her partner doesn't 'trust' her intentions after she started the romance as 'noncommittal.' TikTok star Delaney, who was romantically linked to The Office actor, 45, in April, opened up about her personal life during an appearance on the Boy Problems podcast, hosted by Liz Plank, which was released earlier this week. Although she never explicitly referred anyone by name, the social media star, 29, said: 'I'm not like, you know the cuffs aren't on, like I'm not like fully boo'ed up, but like, I am dating and it's going okay.' Explaining the hurdles plaguing her current romance, Delaney continued: 'I was the problem, and I had to sort of reconcile with that recently. 'I was not sure and so I was sort of noncommittal for a long period of time when he was like very sure. 'And so now I am sure and he's like, "I don't really trust your intentions at this point."' Although the identity of the person Delaney was referring to was not revealed, social media users have blasted the man in question and have branded him as 'hugely manipulating and gaslighting.' Taking to Reddit, one said: 'That is not a man you should be fighting for girl.' Delaney and B.J. first sparked romance rumors in November when they were snapped together at The Official How Long Gone After Party at The Standard in New York City 'To be honest, it sounds like he love-bombed her in the beginning and eventually won her over,' another penned. 'And then there was no more conquest so he lost most of his interest.' 'Okay so it sounds like he's hugely manipulating and gaslighting her,' a third remarked. A fourth commented: 'Lol he doesn't want "proof" girl, he's trying to "test you" and make you prove to him that you're good enough for him, solely to destroy your self-esteem and seek revenge for the rejection he initially faced. 'He will never treat you well, but he will destroy your self-esteem and sense of self-worth. 'Even if you date him seriously, he will continue making you prove yourself to him until you're just where he wants you - controllable, accommodating and submissive.' 'Sounds emotionally abusive tbh,' another simply said. A sixth added: 'This is also one of the oldest tricks for toxic men. They know when you're not ready so they chase you and push, then when you finally give in or you're ready, they pull away - blame you for not accepting their commitment but they won't end it either.' Daily Mail has contacted Delaney and B.J.'s reps for comment. Social media users have blasted the man in question and have branded him as 'hugely manipulating and gaslighting' Delaney and B.J. first sparked romance rumors in November when they were snapped together at The Official How Long Gone After Party at The Standard in New York City. The following month, in December 2024, there was talk that the two might be seeing each other after they were spotted together at the Bowery Hotel in New York City. For years it has been speculated that he is still dating his The Office costar Mindy Kaling and they have welcomed children together. Mindy and B.J. dated on and off from 2004 to 2007, and although they have publicly insisted their bond is now platonic, rumors have swirled about their relationship. The pair have remained friends since they met while working on The Office in 2004 and in 2017, B.J. became Mindy's daughter's godfather. Additionally, the duo have appeared at multiple public events together since their split, igniting speculation that their relationship might be more than just amicable. Their Office characters Kelly and Ryan had a complicated relationship on-screen, and by the series finale, the two characters were back together. At the 2022 Emmy Awards, the pair poked fun at their 'insanely complicated relationship' while co-presenting the award for writing for a limited or anthology series or movie. When she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Mindy - who has not publicly named the father of any of her three children - made headlines by describing BJ as an 'important and integral' part of her family.
