Target Confirms Launch Day Switch 2 Stock, But Prepare to Line Up Early
Just days after YouTuber Jake Randall tipped a restock of Nintendo Switch 2 at Target, the retailer has officially confirmed availability.
When preorders went live for Target's online store on April 24, the stock sold out in just two hours, according to a press release. Now, a new batch of standalone Switch 2 consoles and the Switch 2 + Mario Kart bundle will be available at physical stores on June 5 and on Target.com on June 6.
At select stores, Target will also create a dedicated Nintendo-themed space within the electronics section. But don't expect to just wander in.
Target requests that customers line up outside local stores before business hours begin on June 5. The team at the store will distribute a limited number of tickets, either physical or digital, to reserve your purchase. When it's your turn, you'll be directed to the electronics section, where you can purchase just one item—either the standalone Switch 2 or the Mario Kart bundle.
Online sales will begin early morning on June 6, and will continue until Target sells out.
Target hasn't confirmed how many units it has available, but Randall's leak suggested there would be 40-60 units at each store. So, if you want one, plan to line up early.
The dedicated Nintendo area in-store will also be selling additional Nintendo software, amiibo, accessories, and merchandise. The merch starts at $20, and it includes Nintendo-themed stainless steel tumblers, apparel, toys, collectibles, and more.
'At Target, we don't just launch products — we create moments,' says Cassandra Jones, Target's SVP of merchandising. 'The Nintendo Switch 2 is one of the most anticipated gaming releases in years, and we're making it unforgettable for our guests in a uniquely Target way.'
If you can't get a Switch 2 from Target on launch day, Staples, GameStop, Best Buy, and Costco are expected to have additional stock.
Also, if you have preordered a Switch 2, you need to recheck your order. Some users are seeing their purchases get canceled without reason.

Pura Scents recalls more than 850,000 diffuser covers over ingestion hazard to children
Pura Scents is recalling more than 850,000 diffuser covers because some magnets may detach and cause a possible ingestion hazard to children. The company is recalling the detachable covers for about 851,400 Pura 4 Smart Home Fragrance Diffusers. It said an additional 1,100 were sold in Canada. Pura Scents said that the magnets on the inside cover of the product can detach, posing an ingestion hazard to children. When high-powered magnets are swallowed, the ingested magnets can attract each other, or other metal objects, and become lodged in the digestive system. This can result in perforations, twisting or blockage of the intestines, infection, blood poisoning and death. The company has received three reports of magnets detaching from the cover. No injuries have been reported. The diffusers were sold at Target, Scheels and other stores nationwide from August 2023 through May 2025 for about $50. They were also sold online through Pura's website, as well as online at Amazon, Target and Scheels. Pura Scents is offering a free replacement cover. Consumers are advised to immediately dispose of the existing detachable cover and to keep the diffusers out of the reach of children and pets. To receive the free replacement cover, individuals may contact Pura Scents at 855-394-5292 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT Monday through Friday. The company can also be emailed at replacement@ Consumers may also visit the company's website and click on 'Recall' at the bottom of the page for more information.

You can now easily buy a Switch 2 without jumping through hoops
Perhaps we've been thinking the same thing, you and I. That there won't be a long-standing drought of Nintendo Switch 2 availability after all. The console has been easy to buy online from several retailers this week, including Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. Amazon, which didn't sell the Switch 2 at launch, is currently selling it by invitation only. The console's messy preorder process and spotty launch availability made it feel a little like late 2020 all over again, when the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nvidia RTX 30-series GPUs launched in extremely limited quantities due to component shortages. However, Nintendo appears to have adjusted the right dials to boost production quickly enough to meet US demand. The company reportedly delayed the Switch 2's planned late-2024 launch to build up stock, according to Nikkei (translated by VGC). If that's true, that decision seems to have paid off for customers. The increased flow of consoles seemed to coincide with the launch of Donkey Kong Bananza, Nintendo's latest Switch 2 exclusive. By then, the Switch 2 had already set sales records, becoming the fastest selling game hardware in US history, according to details from marketing firm Circana. Nintendo sold 1.6 million units within its first month in the US alone (it sold a record 3.5 million consoles globally in its first four days). That's impressive, considering how much skepticism there was about whether its high $449.99 price ($499.99 if you want a bundle with Mario Kart World) would turn away would-be buyers. If stock were still tough to come by, we'd be anticipating some kind of update on the matter during Nintendo's upcoming August 1st earning's call. But, thankfully, people across the country can now just buy one online without stressing about it. Sign up for Verge Deals to get deals on products we've tested sent to your inbox weekly. Carvana Stock Could Jump Another 30%, Oppenheimer Says
Carvana stock has been on a tear since April. Some analysts believe its acceleration is just beginning. Oppenheimer upgraded Carvana's stock on Friday from 'perform' to 'outperform' ahead of the company's scheduled release of second-quarter results on July 30. Analysts gave Carvana (CVNA) a $450 price target, implying a more than 30% upside and zooming past other price targets shared with Visible Alpha. Analysts who follow Carvana gave it an average price target of nearly $370, according to Visible Alpha. Oppenheimer described Carvana as a 'unique, digitally-driven disruptor' poised to gain traction in the "expansive and inefficient domestic used car marketplace." Now that it has brought down operational costs, Carvana is poised to benefit from growing demand, analysts said in a research note Friday. 'While shares have rebounded to all-time highs," Oppenheimer said, "investors still under-appreciate near- and longer-term growth and profit potential for the company." Other analysts agree that Carvana is making strides, but expect this to have a more modest impact on share prices. Visitors to Carvana's website increased 7% year-over-year in the last quarter, BTIG said Friday, while raising its price target to $395 from $330. JPMorgan lifted its price target to $350 from $325 earlier this week, citing Carvana's recent gains in market share. Carvana shares were recently up slightly and trading for $330. They've nearly doubled in price since April 4—around the time that analysts published bullish notes on a company some expected to benefit from tariff-fueled demand for used cars.
