NEW DELHI: The Delhi government has directed schools to hold placement drives for students completing Class 12 with vocational education in the 2025–26 academic year, aiming to enhance their employment prospects soon after graduation.
Vocational education was introduced in Delhi government schools in 2014-15 under the National Skills Qualifications Framework. Since then, the programme has expanded to 625 state-run schools and 360 schools under the Samagra Shiksha scheme. The curriculum has been updated to align with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023.
To facilitate placement, school principals have been instructed to collect detailed information on eligible students, including the vocational subjects studied and those interested in employment. This data will help the Directorate of Education identify suitable job opportunities for students.

Nagarkurnool: Prof. Jayashankar Badi Baata (Back to School) program was formally launched on Friday across Nagarkurnool district. District Educational Officer (DEO) A Ramesh Kumar launched the programme at the mandal headquarters of Tadoor, Veldanda, and Kalwakurthy, unveiling brochures to mark the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasised that government schools are the foundation for a bright future for students. He stated that the government is committed to providing quality education along with improved infrastructure in government schools. He further added that government teachers hold the responsibility of shaping students into capable individuals with high aspirations. He instructed all teachers to identify out-of-school children and take necessary steps to enroll them in government schools. The DEO also directed that the Badi Baata programme should be conducted as per schedule until June 19. He informed that on June 12, the day of school reopening, textbooks, notebooks, and uniforms will be distributed to students. He also recommended promoting the excellent results achieved by 10th-grade students in government schools at the local level to attract more enrollments. A pledge was administered as part of the Badi Baata initiative to reaffirm the commitment to education for all. The event was attended by Samagra Shiksha Coordinator Barapati Venkataiah, Textbook Manager Manapadu Narasimhulu, MEOs Srinivas Reddy, Shankar Naik, Chandrudu Naik, and several teachers and officials.

The Directorate of Education has initiated a year-long campaign called 'Maa Yamuna Swachhta Abhiyan' to highlight the significance of keeping the River Yamuna clean. This initiative aims to educate students on water conservation and the importance of preserving the Yamuna River. According to the official circular by the DoE, the campaign will run from July 2025 to March 2026 and will involve government, government-aided, and private schools under the Directorate's purview. According to the circular, schools are directed to conduct monthly activities. The campaign kicks off in July with essay writing on the importance of a clean Yamuna. In August, drawing and painting competitions will be held, followed by speeches, debates, and skits on water conservation and pollution in September. October will feature Yamuna pledge drives and awareness walks. Additionally, cultural programs related to the Yamuna will be included in annual school functions. Maa Yamuna Swachhta Abhiyan: Monthly Activities Essay Writing on the Significance of a Clean Yamuna: July, 2025 Drawing and Painting Competitions: August, 2025 Speeches, Debates, and Skits on Water Pollution and Conservation: September, 2025 Clean Yamuna Pledge Drives and Awareness Walks: October, 2025 The circular also mentions that the campaign, in collaboration with NSS units and local Delhi Jal Board offices, will organize interactive sessions, motivational talks, and exhibitions to engage students effectively. The initiative aims to foster a stronger sense of environmental responsibility among students while supporting ongoing conservation efforts. 11th Humanity Olympiad In Delhi Meanwhile, the Delhi government is set to conduct the 11th Humanity Olympiad, along with the Spiritual Eloquence Oratory Contest and the Spiritual Echoes Poetry Recitation Contest, across all government schools in the national capital, as reported by PTI. According to the official statement, these initiatives aim to foster human values and moral development among students from classes 5 to 12. The 11th Humanity Olympiad is an innovative multiple-choice examination focused on moral education. It encourages students to reflect on core human values through structured questions and learning modules, it read. The Directorate of Education has instructed all Heads of Government Schools under the Department of Education to appoint a teacher-coordinator, preferably a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), to facilitate student participation in the programme. The final round and prize distribution will be held on September 7 on World Equanimity Day at Satyug Darshan Vasundhara in Faridabad.
