David Arquette reveals ‘Scream 7' return blunder: ‘Was supposed to be a surprise'
Deadline revealed in March that Arquette, 53, was reprising his role as Dewey Riley in the next film in the slasher franchise — despite Dewey being killed by Amber Freeman/Ghostface (played by Oscar winner Mikey Madison) in 'Scream 5.'
While promoting his new movie 'Mob Cops,' Arquette exclusively told The Post that the news of his 'Scream 7' return 'was a spoiler.'

'There's not much I can talk about it, but I hope people enjoy it,' he told The Post. 'I love playing the role of Dewey, so any opportunities just to see the different people.'
'Kevin Williamson directed this one. He wrote the first one [and] the second one,' Arquette noted. 'He created the whole world, so you know, we missed Wes [Craven] a lot, obviously, but to work with Kevin in a directing capacity was really thrilling.'

'Scream 7' will also feature the returns of Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley as dead Ghostfaces Stu Macher and Roman Bridger, respectively.
'Matthew's the best. I love Matthew so much,' Arquette told The Post of Lillard, 55, coming back to the franchise. 'He's such an incredible spirit, wonderful actor. I just think the world of him.'

Arquette continued, 'I'm also a fan of the films, you know, despite being in them. It's been such an important aspect of my life. So to know that Matthew is apart of it, I got such a kick out of that. I get to see him quite a bit. He's just so inspirational with fans of horror. All the stuff he does is wonderful.'

The actor is delighted to reunite with his ex-wife Courteney Cox (who plays Gale Weathers) in the upcoming film, too.
'We have a daughter together, so we're amazing co-parents and I feel honored to know her,' he said.

Bride creates singles list for dateless wedding guests — but some call the gesture humiliating: ‘I'd take back my gift'
The sheet hit the fan thanks to this bride's matchmaking vibes. Jessica Branda's sweet effort toward helping folks find love at her wedding hit a sour note with social media naysayers, who proclaimed that plastering pics of her solo guests on a 'singles sheet' was 'humiliating' and a singleton's 'worst nightmare.' But Branda tells The Post she has 'no regrets' about the controversial attempt to pair up her unattached pals. 4 Newlywed Jessica Branda tells The Post she doesn't regret creating a 'singles sheet' of her solo wedding guests because it was meant to be a fun party game. Courtesy Jessica Branda 4 The New Jersey bride tells The Post that the controversial handout was a 'hit' at her wedding. TikTok / @jessicabrandaa 'Everyone online saying it's a form of humiliation is taking it way too far,' Branda, 27, a publicist, from northern New Jersey, insisted. 'I guess it could be embarrassing if you're embarrassed about being single — but my friends thought it was hilarious.' Viral visuals of the brunette's singles sheet, which she and a chum created on Canva, scored over one million TikTok views from a mixed audience rife with critics of the stunt. But Branda, who tied the knot with high school sweetheart, Louis, on June 30, says it was merely a 'silly' gesture meant to 'spice up' her reception. 'It was way better than doing a singles table at the wedding,' said the newlywed. 'That can be so awkward.' 4 Branda believed making the singles sheet would be a fun alternative to a 'singles table.' Drobot Dean – Gripes from internet trolls aside, the forward-thinking bride may be on to something. Where dating apps and stale setups have failed, hopeless romantics on the hunt for that special someone are increasingly embracing more unconventional mating methods — especially partnerless people in and around NYC, one of the 'worst' cities for singles. Be it rolling around Whole Foods Market in Tribeca, hoping to bump shopping carts with a man in finance (6'5', blue eyes), or being pitched to a room full of strangers at a PowerPoint speed dating event, most guys and gals on the market are open to potential meet-cutes however they come. Branda says the loved ones featured on her singles sheet, including her groom's grandparents, were all good sports. 'I know my friends and they're not too sensitive, but after the video blew up on social media, I reached out to several people on the list like, 'Are you OK?,' 'Did you feel embarrassed?'' Branda tells The Post. 'But everyone reassured me that they didn't take it the wrong way, and they thought it was super funny.' Digital detractors, however, were anything but amused. 4 Outraged faultfinders online blasted Branda's singles sheet as 'humiliating' and a 'nightmare,' with many threatening to leave a wedding if they'd been featured on the list. Carlos David – 'If I went to a wedding and saw myself on one of these, I'd take back my gift,' swore a killjoy commenter. 'I would absolutely hate this as a single person,' another spat. 'No sorry, this is giving humiliation,' wrote an equally unimpressed hater, in part. 'I'd walk out.' But Branda says she and her wedding bash attendees all enjoyed a good laugh — even though none of her single guests found their match. 'No one is dating, no one hooked up that I know of,' she chuckled. 'It was just a funny little game that everyone at the wedding thought was positive.'

WORLD WAR Z 2 Is Now a Priority at Paramount Pictures — GeekTyrant
Back in 2013, World War Z hit theaters with Brad Pitt battling a global zombie outbreak. It was a box office win, even if its connection to Max Brooks' 2006 novel was more 'loosely inspired' than 'faithful adaptation.' Over a decade later, Paramount is once again looking to the undead, and World War Z 2 is officially being labeled a 'priority.' The update comes from The Hollywood Reporter, following a press meeting with David Ellison, the new chairman and CEO of the recently merged Paramount Skydance Corporation. Ellison and other execs laid out their vision for the studio's future, name-dropping major franchises like Star Trek , Top Gun , and Transformers . Surprisingly, World War Z was mentioned in the same breath, with Ellison making it clear it's part of the company's top-tier plans. Ellison emphasized wanting Paramount to be 'the No. 1 destination for the most talented artists and filmmakers in the world,' while signaling a push for more theatrical exclusives, including horror and R-rated comedies. That puts World War Z in the middle of a broader strategy to get audiences back into multiplexes. The mention of the zombie epic is interesting given the history of its would-be sequel. World War Z 2 , with Pitt returning and David Fincher directing, had the green light before being canceled in 2019. Pitt later said the sequel's story was 'really good,' which makes this new priority feel like a possible second chance for that vision… or a complete reboot with fresh faces and filmmakers. Coincidentally, Pitt and Fincher are working together again right now on The Adventures of Cliff Booth , a spinoff from Once Upon A Time In Hollywood . With their history on Se7en , Fight Club , and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button , it's tempting to imagine them reuniting for a zombie blockbuster, but that's purely speculation at this point. World War Z held the title of Pitt's highest-grossing film for years until F1 surpassed it. If Paramount truly moves forward, it wouldn't be surprising if they tried to bring back one of the biggest movie stars in the world for another run at the undead.

‘Landman' Season 2's Imminent Release Date Revealed On Paramount+
It's one of the most successful shows in Paramount+ history, as the debut season of Taylor Sheridan's Landman set records for the service. Now, we finally know when Landman season 2's release date will be, and it's a lot closer than you might imagine. Paramount just revealed that release date for season 2 of Landman is November 16, 2025, just two months from now. That is almost exactly a year from the release date of season 1, November 17, 2024, indicating this is going to be a rare series that is able to get out episodes on the 'old' yearly TV schedule. These are 10 episodes seasons, as well. Landman stars A-lister Billy Bob Thornton as an oil company middleman in the West Texas desert, and the show became the #1 original series in Paramount Plus history, so a greenlight for season 2 was obvious. Here's the synopsis for season 1, but we don't yet know exactly where season 2 heading: 'In the heart of Texas, roughnecks and billionaires try to get rich quick in the oil industry; Tommy Norris, a struggling executive, tries to take his company to the top during the fuel boom.' Landman is hugely popular, but has drawn some amount of criticism for coming off like oil industry propaganda at times, extolling the virtues of oil while criticizing renewable energy. The show also has a fixation with Tommy's daughter, her body and her sexual exploits, despite being clearly identified as 17 in the series (the actress, Michelle Randolph, is actually 27). It's…slightly uncomfortable. The show spans sex and crime and accidental and purposeful explosions at the rigs. Season 1 ends with (spoilers) Tommy needed to take on an executive role as the health of CEO Monty Miller, played by Jon Hamm, declines. His wife, played by Demi Moore, will likely have a much larger role in season 2 as another big name being fully added to the cast. There is literally no doubt that Landman season 2 is going to be a huge hit for Paramount, yet another Taylor Sheridan feather in its cap after his sprawling Yellowstone universe expands, and other series like Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown continue to truck along as well. He's a real goldmine for Paramount, and I imagine they want to keep him around as long as humanly possible. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.
