In the action thriller, a stranger happens upon a rust-belt city in decline, ruled by its criminal underworld. He uses brain and brawn to sow distrust and create chaos to dismantle the corrupt power structure, reported Deadline.
Verdi Productions and Ketchup Entertainment are financing, and casting is underway for an October production start in Rhode Island.
Scorsese and DiCaprio are executive producers; Verdi, West, Donnelly, Michelle Verdi, Chad Verdi Jr.,
Paul Luba, and Jennifer Davisson are producers. Lisa Frechette and Sera Verdi are also executive producers. The production companies are Sikelia Productions, Appian Way Productions, Verdi Productions, and Ketchup Entertainment, as per the outlet.
Verdi Productions president Chad A. Verdi called the film "a dynamic project," and they all sparked the idea to "bring Ted's outstanding screenplay to the big screen.

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are an American director-actor collaborative duo who have made six feature films and one short film together since 2002. In 1999, Scorsese produced a documentary on Italian filmmakers titled Il Mio Viaggio in Italia, also known as My Voyage to Italy.

The documentary foreshadowed the director's next project, the epic Gangs of New York (2002), which was influenced by (amongst many others) major Italian directors such as Luchino Visconti and filmed entirely at Rome's famous Cinecitta film studios.
After Gangs of New York, the duo worked on the 2004 biopic The Aviator, with DiCaprio starring as aviation pioneer and filmmaker Howard Hughes.

Aubrey Plaza to headline film on American criminal Heidi Fleiss
Agency: PTI Last Updated: Los Angeles, Aug 7 (PTI) 'Parks and Recreation" and 'The White Lotus" star Aubrey Plaza is set to star as notorious criminal Heidi Fleiss in an upcoming biographical drama film. According to entertainment news outlet Deadline, the film is titled 'The Heidi Fleiss Story" and will mark the directorial debut of Leah Rachel, best known for creating the Netflix series 'Chambers". Plaza will play Fleiss, who made headlines in the early '90s after being exposed as the operator of what was described as the world's largest high-end prostitution ring, allegedly involving Hollywood elites, politicians, and other powerful figures. The film has a script by actor Rachel Sennott, who co-wrote it with Rachel and Travis Jackson. It follows Fleiss before trial, scrambling around Los Angeles trying to blackmail and leverage various connections to get the case dropped, with the help of an aspiring young writer named Jaclyn. The biopic will be co-produced by the independent production company Pinky Promise, which earlier produced Gia Coppola's 'The Last Showgirl" and Andrea Arnold's 'Bird". Plaza will also produce the movie through her company Evil Hag. Plaza will next feature in filmmaker Ethan Coen's 'Honey Don't" alongside Chris Evans and Margaret Qualley. AP Grammy-winning salsa pioneer Eddie Palmieri dead at 88 Eddie Palmieri, the visionary pianist who revolutionized Latin jazz and salsa music, has died at the age of 88. His family confirmed he passed away Wednesday(August 6) at his home in New Jersey following an extended illness. Palmieri, known for his explosive energy at the keyboard and genre-defying compositions, was a trailblazer whose work spanned over six decades and earned him ten Grammy Awards. His death marks the end of a towering chapter in American and Afro-Caribbean music history. Born December 15, 1936, in Spanish Harlem to Puerto Rican parents, Palmieri grew up surrounded by the rhythms of Afro-Cuban and Caribbean music. His classical piano training laid the foundation for a career that would ultimately break musical boundaries and reshape the landscape of Latin jazz.
