Akhanda 2 teaser: Telugu veteran superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna is back in action. He reunited with director Boyapati Sreenu this time for their upcoming film, titled Akhanda 2: Thaandavam. The actor dropped a special treat for his fans as he dropped the first teaser of the film on his birthday, June 10.
Akhanda 2 is backed by Raam Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner. It is presented by M Tejeswini Nandamuri.
The teaser of Akhanda 2 reveals a powerful new avatar of Balakrishna, retaining the spiritual essence and stylised action that defined the first film.
Promising an action saga like never before, the teaser showcases Nandamuri Balakrishna taking on a group of thugs amidst majestic snow-capped peaks reminiscent of Mount Kailash. Wielding a trishul, he single-handedly lifts and tosses gunmen into the air, delivering high-octane action with his commanding presence.
The film seemingly blends mythological symbolism with larger-than-life action and mass appeal seamlessly.
Reacting to the teaser, a user took to X, formerly Twitter and wrote, 'After seeing this even Bhojpuri cinema people will feel ashamed, ultra pro level cringe. How can South Indian people support such ultra pro cringe movies?'
'If this were a Bollywood film, people & critics would've become Physicists & Logicians by now,' added another.
'Every cringy movie seems fine as long as it's not made in Bollywood,' also wrote someone else.
Meanwhile, fans were seen praising Nandamuri for the teaser.
Among them, one posted: 'I have watched #DaakuMaharaaj on the premier day, in Telugu among Telugu audiences in DLF Avenue, Saket. Balayya fans are so passionate that it's like a festival for them. I can only imagine how this movie would feel on the first day in Telugu states.'
'Boyapati on God mode. He never disappoints us,' added another. '#Akhanda2Teaser is Excellent,' said one more fan.
Akhanda 2: Thaandavam also stars Samyuktha and Aadhi Pinisetty.
The action sequences in the film are helmed by Ram-Lakshman. Thaman S composed the music. Cinematography is handled by C Ramprasad and Santoshh D Detake. Editing is done by Tammiraju.
The film is currently under production. It is said that the team is yet to wrap up the film shoot, including major portion in Georgia and a key action sequence.
Akhanda 2 is scheduled to be released on September 25.
It will clash with Pawan Kalyan's upcoming film, OG. It also marks Emraan Hashmi's Telugu debut.

Menswear feud turns ugly: JD Vance threatens deportation after being mocked by viral style critic

JD Vance, Vice President of the U.S., is angry at a Twitter fashion critic who made fun of his clothes. The fashion critic is Derek Guy, also known as 'Menswear Guy' on Twitter. He's famous for roasting politicians' bad fashion, especially Republicans like Vance, as per reports. On Sunday, Derek Guy posted on X that he is an undocumented immigrant who came to the U.S. from Vietnam as a baby. He said growing up without legal papers made life scary and full of stress. He also said it affected his chances in school, work, and life in general. Guy shared this to help break the stereotype that all undocumented people are criminals or gang members. He said most are normal people, like your neighbors, according to The Daily Beast report. JD Vance, fashion guy feud A random user on Twitter posted, "JD Vance I know you're reading this and you have the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever," suggesting deporting Guy. JD Vance responded by posting a GIF of Jack Nicholson with a creepy smile, nodding 'yes,' which looked like a silent threat to deport Guy, as stated in the reports. Even if it was a joke, the threat feels real, especially since the current administration is increasing arrests of undocumented immigrants, not just those with criminal records. Derek Guy clapped back at Vance on Twitter by saying, 'I think I can outrun you in these clothes,' and posted photos of Vance's tight suit and high socks at CPAC, as mentioned by The Daily Beast. In another tweet, Guy said, "You're tweeting for likes. I'm tweeting to be mentioned in the National Archives," showing he's taking the moment seriously and historically. Guy also joked about where to find him, saying, 'Here is my house,' and posted a photo of Men's Wearhouse, a popular suit store, as per reports. Live Events This weird feud started because Guy has mocked JD Vance's fashion many times in the past, like bad ties and badly fitting suits. Even though JD Vance used to say only violent criminals should be deported, his tweet shows he might be okay with targeting critics too, as per The Daily Beast report. FAQs Q1. ZEE5 aims to slash operating losses by up to 60% in FY26

Mumbai: ZEE5 , the streaming platform owned by Zee Entertainment , aims to reduce its operating losses by 50-60% in FY26, president of digital businesses and platforms Amit Goenka said. The OTT industry has shifted its focus to achieving profitability after years of heavy investments in subscriber acquisition, which had taken a toll on their P&L. In FY25, ZEE5 reduced its Ebitda loss to ₹548 crore from ₹1,105 crore in the previous year. The company has been aggressively cutting costs to achieve its goal of an 18-20% Ebitda margin in FY26. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Villas In Dubai | Search Ads Get Rates Undo "This year, we are striving to reduce our Ebitda losses by more than 50-60% compared to last year. ZEE5 is the only division in Zee Entertainment that is not yet profitable, and we are looking to make it Ebitda-positive," he said. According to Goenka, producing content at a competitive price has been Zee's strength, and the company wants to maintain the cost advantages it has built over the years. Live Events ZEE5's focus on investing more in the story than in the star cast has helped it reduce costs-unlike other major streamers who spend huge amounts of money on star-driven shows, he noted. "We will control our costs and at the same time deliver quality content to audiences," he said. ZEE5 is planning to launch 100 content titles in FY26, with a focus on language-based offerings in markets like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali. In FY25, the platform launched 60 pieces of content across movies and originals. Goenka also downplayed concerns that stringent cost controls would impact revenue growth, even as the platform competes with giants like Netflix, Prime Video and JioHotstar. ZEE5's revenue grew by 6% in FY25 to ₹976 crore. "Controlling costs can still help you grow users and offer a great content experience because how you tell the story is more important than the face behind it," he said. While ZEE5 has a hybrid subscription and ad-led model, Goenka sees a lot of potential in the subscription model and intends to partner with telcos, broadband players and other distribution platforms to reach new audiences in tier-2 and -3 cities. The platform also aims to double down on technology to improve user experience and experiment with emerging genres like short-form vertical video.

Gaddar film awards to be presented on June 14

Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday announced that the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards ceremony will be held on June 14. At a high-level review meeting, he directed officials to prepare a comprehensive detailed project report for transforming Greater Hyderabad into a world-class film city, complete with a streamlined single-window clearance system. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The Gaddar Film Awards ceremony, scheduled for June 14, is expected to be a high-profile event, with invitations extended to leading figures from the Telugu film fraternity and prominent film personalities from across the country. Heading the three-member ministerial committee tasked with the development of the film industry in the state, Bhatti asserted that Hyderabad would soon emerge as a premier destination for both Indian and international film productions. He instructed officials from the information department and the Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC) to prepare the project roadmap without delay. "Currently, film producers are required to secure separate permissions from various departments—police, fire, municipal bodies—creating unnecessary hurdles. To address this, we have decided to implement a single-window clearance system," the deputy CM said. He also ordered the appointment of a dedicated liaison officer within TFDC to coordinate and expedite all approvals, ensuring filmmakers face minimal red tape. Bhatti emphasised that promoting film shoots in scenic locations across Telangana would simultaneously boost the state's tourism industry. He also raised concerns over the exorbitant prices of food and beverages sold at cinema theatre canteens, stating that cine-goers were being unfairly burdened. Officials were instructed to formulate measures to regulate and standardise these prices. Bhatti also reviewed key infrastructure aspects, including 50 acres of land previously allotted to the TFDC.
