'Pathetic bowling it's torturous to watch': Fans riled up with Indian bowling as England take massive edge at Oval
Fans are extremely disappointed with Indian bowlers as England openers once again gave the hosts a flying start, putting Indian under the pump in a must-win match. read more Team India is once again on the back foot in the series against England, as after wrapping India's innings at a less-than-par total of 224 in the morning of , the England openers have given the hosts an ideal start, finishing the morning session at 109/1 after 16 overs. Much like the Manchester Test, the Indian bowlers have been considerably uninspiring. Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Akash Deep have all been taken for runs, and as a consequence, Shubman Gill and co. are exactly in a situation they dreaded. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Fans showcase immense wrath over Indian bowlers Witnessing Indian bowlers' poor performance at the Oval, the fans on social media have launched a scathing attack on the pace battery. Given that India are trailing 1-2 in the series, and need to win the Test at any cost to safeguard the pride and evade a series defeat, the lacklustre show has let the team down and become a subject of fans' fury. Here are a few of the many reactions describing the Indian bowlers' below-par performance: It's like India are bowling on a completely different surface lol — Neal Gardner (@Nealbackup) August 1, 2025 The Oval is a bowling pitch when India bats and a batting pitch when England bats. — Sameer Allana (@HitmanCricket) August 1, 2025 England are showing the great power that fearlessness delivers. India's bowling appears scattered and a little short of ideas. This is extraordinary, clever batting from Crawley and Duckett. — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) August 1, 2025 Once we loved to watch India's batting no expectations in bowling watching India's bowling was a torture opposition piling 500+ every time Since, 2018 we fall in love with India's bowling crossing 250 became Hercules task against India's pace attack Now, once again back to… — Sunil Singh (@Sunil_1984_) August 1, 2025 STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD India, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE BOWLING 😭 — MJ (@mj_alwayss) August 1, 2025 England take a firm grip on the match After losing the toss for the record 15th time, Team India were put to bat first. England pacers, Gus Atkinson, Jamie Overton, and Josh Tongue, all made the most of the favourable bowling conditions and put India in the shackles from the outset. Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul fell cheaply. Captain Shubman Gill also could not last long and perished through a devastating run-out. Sai Sudarshan and Karun Nair stood out competitively, and Washington Sundar also contributed with a handy cameo. However, a dearth of partnerships put India under the pump, and the innings crumbled and concluded at 224. In reply, England are cruising towards the Indian total. Openers- Zak Crawley (53*) and Ben Duckett (43)- have once again given England a flying start, and in the process have handed the team a sizeable edge over India. Crawley and Ollie Pope are currently in the middle as India are 109/1 after 16 overs at lunch. The only wicket to fall was off Duckett. He was dismissed by Akash Deep. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

Bad news for Team India in middle of Oval Test, star player has been released from squad by BCCI
Jasprit Bumrah has been released from Indian Test squad in the middle of 5th Test vs England. (Photo: IANS) Team India are on the backfoot in the fifth and final Test against England at the Oval in London. Shubman Gill's side are already trailing 1-2 in the series and have been bowled out for just 224 after being sent into bat by stand-in England skipper Ollie Pope. Now, there was some more bad news for the team as the BCCI announced that Jasprit Bumrah is being released from the squad. India's most experienced bowler Bumrah was not selected for the must-win match at the Oval due to his 'workload management' even with a helpful, green track on offer. Bumrah will probably now leave the squad in the middle of the Test match after BCCI's announcement. 'Jasprit Bumrah has been released from India's squad for the fifth Test of the series against England,' BCCI announced in a release on Friday. 🚨 NEWS 🚨 Jasprit Bumrah released from squad for fifth Test. Details 🔽 #TeamIndia | #ENGvINDhttps:// — BCCI (@BCCI) August 1, 2025 Jasprit Bumrah had role to play as a mentor Team India would have liked Jasprit Bumrah to at least play the role of a mentor to the other bowlers. In Bumrah's absence, England openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley have pulverized the other fast bowlers – racing to 109 for 1 in 16 overs at lunch on Day 2. All Indian fast bowlers – Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep and Prasidh Krishna – leaked boundaries and failed to keep the England batters in check. The 31-year-old Bumrah had bowled 119.4 overs across three games and took 14 wickets. Bumrah claimed two five-wicket hauls – at the Headingley in the first Test and at the Lord's in the third game. However at Manchester, Bumrah conceded more than 100 runs in a single innings for the first time in his career. Bumrah now has 219 wickets in 48 Tests. When will Jasprit Bumrah be in action again? Team India's next big international assignment is going to be the Asia Cup 2025 tournament in the UAE next month. It will be interesting to see if the BCCI and the selectors decide to risk playing Bumrah in the Asia Cup after such a long England tour. Bumrah last played T20 cricket for India back in the T20 World Cup 2024 which India won last year. The Asia Cup will conclude on September 29 and the first Test against the West Indies will start in Ahmedabad on October 2 followed by the second match in New Delhi from October 10-14 . Then in November there are two Tests against South Africa. 'It will be a tricky call but Bumrah loves Test cricket and there are World Test Championship points at stake. As far as T20 is concerned, he can play the series against New Zealand in January, which will be a dress rehearsal for the T20 World Cup,' a BCCI source was quoted as saying by PTI. 'If Bumrah plays Asia Cup and suppose India plays the final, no way can he play against West Indies at Ahmedabad. Obviously the question arises, do you need Bumrah against West Indies or he plays Asia Cup after a month's break and plays the two Tests against South Africa. That call, Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir will have to take,' the source added.
