Eamonn Holmes issues heartbreaking health update after falling off his chair

Daily Mirror29-05-2025
Eamonn Holmes has issued a heartbreaking health update days after falling off his chair live on GB News. The presenter, 65, was also taken to hospital earlier in the month after he had a fall at his home.
Sharing his dismay at his current state, Eamonn took to social media to share a picture of himself looking healthy and sprightly from just three years ago. The presenter said it 'made him sad' to see his decline as he told fans: "I could walk." In a bid to stay positive, Eamonn added: "Got to redouble my efforts."
The presenter has been working hard on his rehabilitation after undergoing spinal surgery in 2022 for chronic back pain caused by three slipped discs. Over the last year he has been seen using a walking aid and a wheelchair as his mobility has become effected.
Just last week, Eamonn sparked concern from fans when he took a tumble from his seat while presenting the GB News Breakfast show. During his Wednesday show, with his co-host Ellie Costello, a crash could be heard while the camera was focused on their guest, commentator Charlie Rowley.
Costello could be heard saying 'oh my gosh' off-screen, and Holmes pleaded with Rowley to 'carry on' before the presenter returned to the show following a break. Holmes said: 'Welcome back. Good to see you again. Especially good for me to see you again. I am still alive, yes.
'And they're very wonky wheels on chairs that we've got here, and matter of fact, we don't really like the chairs full stop, do we? They're a bit slippy and slidey and I've slipped and slid off mine there. 'Not the first guest to have done so, we've had a few, they have to remain nameless because they're well known people, but they've hit the floor really badly, quite frightening. 'And it was a bit of a shock for me because I've had a fall in my bathroom two weeks ago, which hospitalised me, and that hit me again right in the back. (I'm) really, really sore. Really sore.' He later said the chair 'gave way' which meant he was lying flat on his back.
He added: 'As the morning goes on, you feel aches and pains. The worst thing about this, of course, this was at a time when I was hospitalised two weeks ago for a very similar fall in the same area, back of the head, my neck, my shoulders. So it all came back, as it were.'
On X, formerly Twitter, Rowley wrote: '@EamonnHolmes YOU are the real hero for carrying on this morning. A true professional and National Treasure who I learn from each and every week. It's a privilege working with you, @elliecostelloTV and the rest of the @GBNEWS family. Take care!'.
On May 2, in an Instagram post that included a photo from the inside of an ambulance, Holmes thanked the crew who had helped him after he fell on his bathroom floor. The former This Morning host has long battled health issues after dislodging discs in his back which he said previously impinged on his sciatic nerve and affected the mobility of his right leg. He has spoken about going through spinal surgery, a double hip replacement, and his struggles walking and using a mobility scooter. Last year, Holmes and his wife Ruth Langsford announced their split, after tying the knot in 2010.

Gwyneth Paltrow supports son Moses as he follows in Chris Martin's footsteps

The youngest child of a well-known musician and his acting ex-wife is following in the footsteps of his father by being in a band, who performed at a gig in the US this week The son of a well-known musician is now following in their footsteps by their pursuing a career in music. They took to the stage with their band at a concert earlier this week and their Oscar-winning mother was there for support. ‌ Moses Martin, 19, is the youngest child of Coldplay 's Chris Martin, 48, and actor Gwyneth Paltrow, 52. The exes, who split in 2014 before getting divorce, but who have remained on good terms, are also parents to Apple Martin, 21. ‌ Like his father, Moses is a member of a band, with him one third of trio Dancer. His group performed at a concert in Chicago recently whilst supporting another band. It comes after Chris issued a warning to his own fans during his first gig with Coldplay since a kiss cam scandal earlier this month. ‌ Moses' band Dancer took to the stage at the Thalia Hall in Chicago last night. Alongside his bandmates Orlando and Andy, he opened for duo Royel Otis - who are due to perform at Reading Festival and Leeds Festival soon - at the venue. Prior to the gig, Dancer posted about their appearance on platforms like Instagram. Alongside a video of the trio performing together whilst sat on the back of a truck, they shared details of the gig with their followers. ‌ "I love this band," one person reacted to the post. Another wrote in the comments section: "Amazing." Someone else responded to the band's post: "See ya there." Someone else asked: "How can I listen to your songs???" Dancer teased over potential music being released soon, with the band's account replying: "Soon." ‌ Gwyneth liked the post and shared her excitement over the upcoming gig in the comments section. Teasing that she would be there to support her son, she wrote: "Can't wait." She later revealed that she was at the show in a post on her own account on the platform. The actor uploaded a photo that was seemingly taken backstage at the venue last night. It showed three microphone kits, each with a band member's name on, and Gwyneth didn't provide any caption. More recently, in a post uploaded to her Instagram Story earlier today, she shared a photo of the band on stage. ‌ Gwyneth shared her pride over Moses being a musician in a tribute for his birthday on the platform back in April. She wrote at the time: "Happy birthday [Moses]. Honestly, you are a dream come true. You are deeply kind and brilliant." She continued by writing to him: "You have an incredible intellect and you are so gifted, so talented. I listen to your music on repeat and miss you so much at college. And today more than ever. I love you my boy."

Adam Collard feared Laura Woods' miscarriage was 'karma' for his love-rat past

Former Love Island star Adam Collard has admitted he blames his past "love rat" ways for bringing "bad karma" onto his relationship with sports presenter Laura Woods Adam Collard has revealed he blames his past actions for fiancee Laura Woods having a miscarriage. The former Love Island star admitted he believes his previous "love rat" persona brought "bad karma" on the pair. ‌ The Geordie star, 29, confessed he believes his dating show antics on the likes of the ITV show - where he appeared twice - and Celebs Go Dating brought negative energy onto his current relationship. The gym owner is set to be put through his paces on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, taking part in a series of gruelling physical challenges. ‌ Speaking on the new series, dad-of-one Adam explained his thought process. He told the cameras: "I know it's a terrible way to look at it, but I felt like it was bad karma for me being on dating shows and upsetting too many people. ‌ "I felt like that was some high power's way of being like, 'Well, there you go, that's what you have to carry'." He went on: "I was just a cocky little p***k, being a love rat jumping from girl to girl. I want to show I'm not that man any more." And revealing why he chose to test himself on the endurance show, the fitness fanatic explained it was the mental test he desired. "'I had a lot of stuff going on before I went on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins," he said. "And I've got to be honest but credit to the show, I actually think it had the most positive impact on my mental health." Adam began dating sports presenter Laura in October 2023. The following year they announced they were expecting their first child and in April 2025 they welcomed their son Leo. The pair have both kept their followers up to date with their family life and at the turn of the year, Adam posted a candid message on his social media. At the time, he wrote: "2024, the hardest year of my life." He went on: "I've seen lot of amazing 2024 posts over the last few days... but if you're struggling right now, remember that Instagram is a highlights reel, and if you're struggling you aren't alone. ‌ "Struggled with my mental health more than ever. Lost something important. Struggled with injuries. Suffered with addiction to painkillers and sleeping pills and justified it as 'it doesn't affect fitness' or because it wasn't booze. "Got diagnosed with depression. Prescribed anti-depressants. Lost family. Drifted from certain friends. Tried to reach out to people and failed. Felt lost." ‌ But he admitted he also had a lot to be positive about, including his son and relationship. At the time, Laura issued a gushing response. In the comments section, replying: "Proud of you. You're going to be the most amazing dad x."

Justin Timberlake: List of Lyme disease symptoms after Mirrors singer's diagnosis

Justin Timberlake told fans of his "debilitating" health battle - having been diagnosed with Lyme disease - in a post on Instagram, following concerns over his performances Following Justin Timberlake's Lyme disease diagnosis, the Mirror has tonight outlined the key symptoms of the bacterial infection. ‌ Spread to humans by infected ticks, Lyme disease causes tiredness, aches and loss of energy, which can last for years. Justin, 44, told his fans about his diagnosis on Instagram on Thursday following the completion of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour. The singer said he wanted to "shed some light on what I've been up against behind the scenes" during his tour, which began in Vancouver, Canada in April last year and ended in Istanbul, Turkey this week. ‌ "As I'm reflecting on the tour and festival tour — I want to tell you a little bit about what's going on with me. Among other things, I've been battling some health issues, and was diagnosed with Lyme disease — which I don't say so you feel bad for me — but to shed some light on what I've been up against behind the scenes," the Mirrors singer said on Instagram. It comes after the NHS warns mouth symptom could be life-shortening disease. ‌ The Mirror has highlighted the plights of people diagnosed with Lyme disease in recent years. Lorraine Damonte, who was battling the crippling disease, had to endure her children screaming "I don't want to die, I don't want to be like you" after they contracted the infection too. Lorraine, from Sevenoaks, Kent, fought the vile bacterial illness for almost ten years and at one point thought she was going to die. The mum experienced bloodshot eyes, nausea, joint pain and fatigue, telltale symptoms. It is unclear which signs Justin, who has won ten Grammy Awards, experienced but he referenced "crazy fatigue or sickness" and "joint pain" in his full Instagram post. In it, the star, from Memphis, Tennessee, told fans he was desperate to continue his tour despite the challenges. ‌ The NHS lists joint pain as a common Lyme disease symptom. However, it adds a circular or oval shape rash around a tick bite is the most common early symptom. The full list, as published on its website, reads; Circular or oval shape rash around a tick bite a high temperature, or feeling hot and shivery ‌ headache muscle and joint pain tiredness and loss of energy ‌ READ MORE: 'I went for a dog walk - it left me with a debilitating disease that's cost me £150,000' Ticks which may cause Lyme disease are found all over the UK, but high-risk places include grassy and wooded areas in southern England and the Scottish Highlands. If you think you could have Lyme disease the GP will ask about your symptoms and consider any rash or recent tick bites. But Lyme disease can be difficult to diagnose. It has similar symptoms to other conditions and there's not always an obvious rash. Two types of blood test are available to help confirm or rule out Lyme disease, however these tests are not always accurate in the early stages of the disease. You may need to be retested if you still have Lyme disease symptoms after a negative result, the NHS says. A course of antibiotics is typically the best treatment for the infection.
