Will Ferrell Makes Dirty 'Elf' Jokes and Rocks His Daisy Dukes in 'Scared Straight' Prison Skit at 'SNL' 50th Anniversary
Will Ferrell's physical comedy still gets all the laughs on Saturday Night Live.
Ferrell joined an already star-studded cast of characters in the 'Scared Straight' sketch on SNL50: The Anniversary Special. The sketch begins with Jason Sudeikis as a cop, addressing Marcello Hernández, Mikey Day and Michael Longfellow, three teens busted for shoplifting.
Sudeikis brings in two prisoners to help the teens understand the magnitude of what they've done: Kenan Thompson and Eddie Murphy.
Thompson and Murphy inundate the three with stories from prison, but the teens quickly realize the stories are lifted from Harry Potter and The Nutty Professor.
Murphy's nod to his comedy hit isn't the only self-referential moment in the sketch, however. The pair are quickly joined by Ferrell's Daisy Duke-wearing character, complete with mullet.

Related: Will Ferrell Reveals He Turned Down 'Elf' Sequel Despite $29 Million Payday
Ferrell's Big Red joins the men in telling prison stories, arguing that it's actually "really fun."
"I'm in an improv group. I'm scrapbooking like crazy. Outside, I never used to get laid. Now I'm having sex 50, 60 times a day," he says.
Sharing his own story, Big Red adds, "I was abandoned as a baby by my human parents, so I was forced to grow up at the North Pole ... You know what, I'm gonna skip ahead. It's Elf. I'm talking about Elf."
The jokes about his family-friendly holiday film quickly take a NSFW turn. Even Ferrell himself fumbled over the racy lines, which elicited so much laughter that both Thompson and Murphy struggled to hold back their smiles.
When Hernández pushes back, the men crowd around him as Big Red says, "In prison, you're not going to be an elf named Buddy. You're gonna get Elf'd, right in your butt-y."
"And forget about your North Pole, what you're going to have to worry about is your South Pole," Murphy's character adds.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2021, Ferrell discussed his decision not to do a sequel to his holiday smash hit film.
Elf was a box office hit grossing $223 million worldwide and becoming an instant Christmas classic. According to THR, he would have been paid $29 million for taking part in the sequel. Ferrell said he turned down the sequel due to it having too similar a premise to the original movie.
"I would have had to promote the movie from an honest place, which would've been, like, 'Oh no, it's not good. I just couldn't turn down that much money,' " Ferrell told THR. "And I thought, 'Can I actually say those words? I don't think I can, so I guess I can't do the movie.' "
SNL50: The Anniversary Special airs Sunday, Feb. 16, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

Conner Smith's Rep Gives Update After Nashville Fatal Accident
Rising country star Conner Smith's representative has now responded to the news that Smith was involved in a fatal accident in Nashville, TN, that left an elderly woman dead. Smith's rep told People that he was 'involved in a car accident that tragically claimed a life.' Smith was not injured. The crash occurred on the evening of June 8, and Dorothy Dobbins, 77, was killed after being struck by a pickup truck driven by Smith, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department wrote in a news release. 'His heart goes out to Ms. Dobbins' family during this incredibly difficult time,' Smith's rep's statement said, according to People. 'Mr. Smith continues to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.' People noted that sources told the publication that Smith was not impaired at the time of the crash nor "distracted by his phone." Smith has 200,000 followers on Instagram. According to 9News, he is best known for the "viral hit 'I Hate Alabama' and released his debut album, 'Smoky Mountains,' in 2024." He "was nominated for New Male Artist of the Year at the ACM Awards last year," the station reported. "The pedestrian killed Sunday night after she was struck by a vehicle on 3rd Avenue North near Van Buren Street is identified as 77-year-old Dorothy Dobbins," police wrote. "The preliminary investigation indicates that a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, driven by Conner Smith, 24, was traveling north on 3rd Avenue North as Dobbins was crossing the roadway," the release says. "It appears that she was inside a marked crosswalk when she was struck around 7:30 p.m. Dobbins, who lived nearby, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she died." "The preliminary contributing factor for this crash appears to be Smith failing to yield the right of way to the pedestrian. He showed no signs of impairment. There are no charges at present as the investigation continues," the release Smith's Rep Gives Update After Nashville Fatal Accident first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 10, 2025

Walton Goggins' Wife Nadia Conners Breaks Silence on Aimee Lou Wood Speculation
Walton Goggins' wife, Nadia Conners, addressed speculation about his relationship to White Lotus costar Aimee Lou Wood. 'It's odd to see [the speculation], but it's an indication of how much people were invested in the fictional characters,' Conners, 55, said in an interview with Hello! Magazine published on Friday, May 16. 'I take it as a sign that he's become quite popular.' Goggins, 53, and Wood, 31, played doomed lovers Rick and Chelsea in the third season of the HBO Emmy-winning anthology series. The costars took part in promotion of the show together, but fans noticed they soon stopped following one another on social media. Goggins reacted to Saturday Night Live's April parody of The White Lotus via Instagram by calling the sketch 'amazzzingggg' whereas Wood found the spoof 'mean and unfunny' due to SNL cast member Sarah Sherman depicting her with fake teeth to resemble her gap. (Sherman later offered a mea culpa by sending Wood flowers and Wood insisted she never personally blamed the comedian.) Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood's Sweetest Friendship Moments: From 'The White Lotus' and Beyond Speculation about the pair reached a fever pitch earlier this month when Goggins walked out of an interview with the London Times due to repeated questions about his relationship with Wood. Goggins initially told the reporter he wasn't 'going to have that conversation' before ending the interview when Wood was brought up again. 'There's no conversation to be had about that. [It's like] sharing politics on social media — it's in a vacuum,' he insisted. However, the two White Lotus stars started following each other again on Instagram shortly after. Wood also offered her support for Goggins hosting SNL on May 10 while attending the Met Gala in New York City on May 5. '[Working with Walton] was the best thing ever,' Wood added. 'He's going to be incredible doing SNL. It's the perfect thing for him to do. It's going to be hilarious. I'm so excited to see it.' Fans hoping to see Wood reunite with Goggins on Saturday Night Live were likely disappointed since she didn't appear — though White Lotus cast member Sam Rockwell did cameo alongside Goggins on the NBC sketch show last weekend. As for Goggins' marriage, he was first wed to Leanne Kaun in 2001 but she tragically died in 2004. He married Conners in 2011 and they share a son, Augustus, born 2011. Walton Goggins Says He Would Call Pedro Pascal If He 'Needed an Intervention' Amid 'White Lotus' Fame In her new interview with Hello!, Conners spoke about writing and directing The Uninvited, a comedy-drama about a dinner party gone horribly wrong. Goggins starred in the movie as a drug-addicted Hollywood talent agent, but Conners insisted her marriage did not inspire the film. "Walton was reading through the script with me at home and I was like, 'Oh my God.' What he brings to the character, it was sharp, almost killer energy,' she said. 'I wrote it about a marriage, but not my marriage, which concerned him – he was like: 'But I'm not this guy.' It was really important for him to say that he was not this guy. I said: 'I know, but you're a great actor, so you can pretend.'' The Uninvited is now playing in theaters.

Billy Joel's first wife walked out on him in hospital bed after motorcycle crash that nearly killed him
Billy Joel is reliving some of the most painful moments in his life. In the upcoming documentary, "Billy Joel: And So It Goes," the "Piano Man" crooner, 76, recalled the moment his first wife, Elizabeth Weber, walked away from their marriage shortly after his near-fatal motorcycle crash. "I always romanticized motorcycles. There's something about it. I feel like I can be completely disconnected from the world. There's a sense of freedom about that," Joel said in the doc, per People. Billy Joel Cancels All Concerts Due To Brain Disorder Diagnosis Joel said his admiration for motorcycles left Weber "scared all the time." "I on many occasions said to him, you know, 'You can't do this, this is dangerous,'" she said. Read On The Fox News App "Elizabeth had warned me, she said, 'Be careful, be careful, 'cause you're going to have an accident,'" the musician recalled. In 1982, Joel suffered multiple injuries after his bike crashed into a vehicle mid-intersection. "I was amazed I was still alive. I should have died in that accident," he said. "And I laid there in shock for a couple of minutes and I went to the hospital." The accident left him with a broken arm, leg and wrist. While he recovered in the hospital, Weber opted out of the marriage. "I would've stayed, I would've been able — like so many women before me — to make that accommodation for someone you love ,but there was no way that I could stand by and watch him kill himself," said Weber, who recalled placing the house key onto a tray in his hospital room. "I just didn't have that in me. And I felt very strongly that that's what was going." When Weber left the hospital, she recalled telling Joel, "You know, someday they may write about us and I hope that they say that we really did something." According to her, Joel responded with, "I hope they could say we went all the way." She added, "And that was it. That really was the final. That was it." The couple were married from 1973 until 1982. "After 'Glass Houses' came out I was always on the road, working, working, I look back on that guy and I don't even know who he was, he had to be so ambitious to work that hard and work that much," Joel said in the documentary. "So, it must have not been easy to be married to me at the time." "I wasn't asking him to change, but I just did not want to live like that. My response to it was to get a place in New York City where you can enjoy anonymity — so it wasn't so much as we separated, but we started to get a little bit isolated from one another and I also knew that he wasn't in a good place. We were all under a lot of stress," Weber said. "All of us dealt with our stresses in different ways. And so there was a lot, a lot of alcohol use and eventually a lot of drug use." When the musician was in his early 20s, Joel was part of a band called Attila with his best friend, Jon Small, who was married to Weber at the time. He ended up moving in with Small, Weber, and their son, according to People. "Bill and I spent a lot of time together," Weber confessed in the documentary, per People. She added that their friendship was gradual and a "slow build." Joel eventually told his best friend, "I'm in love with your wife." "I felt very, very guilty about it. They had a child. I felt like a homewrecker," Joel admitted in the documentary, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Wednesday. "I was just in love with a woman, and I got punched in the nose, which I deserved. Jon was very upset. I was very upset." Billy Joel Opens Up About Affair That Led To Two Suicide Attempts The betrayal not only ended Joel and Small's friendship at the time but also dissolved their band, Attila. Consumed by guilt and depression, Joel's personal and professional life unraveled, as he began to spiral. Click Here To Sign Up For The Entertainment Newsletter "I had no place to live. I was sleeping in laundromats, and I was depressed, I think to the point of almost being psychotic," Joel said in the documentary. So, I figured, 'That's it. I don't want to live anymore.' I was just in a lot of pain and it was sort of like why hang out? Tomorrow is going to be just like today is, and today sucks. So, I just thought I'd end it all." Joel's sister shared in the film that she was working as a medical assistant and gave him sleeping pills to help with the restless nights. "I went to go see him in the hospital, and he was laying there white as a sheet. I thought that I'd killed him." While Joel acknowledged that he had been "very selfish" during the tumultuous time, he recalled his first thought when he woke up from his coma was that he wanted to attempt suicide again. During Joel's second attempt at suicide, he ingested "lemon Pledge," a furniture polish. Miraculously, he survived both attempts, after Small rushed him to the hospital. "Even though our friendship was blowing up, Jon saved my life," Joel explained in the documentary. Fox News Digital's Stephanie Giang-Paunon contributed to this post.
