1 . French Bulldog
Cheeky and bold, the French Bulldog will not be ignored if it wants to play - which is most of the time. Be careful not to give them too much exercise though, as they are prone to breathing problems. Photo: Canva/Getty Images Photo Sales
2 . Labrador Retriever
Originally bred to help fishermen recover nets, ropes and fish from the chilly waters of the North Atlantic, the Labrador Retriever still loves to fetch things. As anybody who has ever thrown a ball or stick for a Lab will know, you'll tire of the game long before they do. Photo: Canva/Getty Images Photo Sales
3 . Boxer
Patient, gentle and affectionate, a Boxer makes a particularly good playmate for children with their endless energy and cheery outlook on life. Photo: Canva/Getty Images Photo Sales
4 . Dalmation
The Dalmation's love for play was used to great effect when they used to perform for delighted circus audiences. Now the spotty dogs are more likely to entertain their human family with their spirited antics. Photo: Canva/Getty Images Photo Sales

She has just landed a role opposite her mum in the new horror-comedy, Horrified. The movie started shooting this summer, and Busy couldn't help sharing a clip from a scene her daughter filmed for the movie. Writing next to it, the proud mum said: "Apparently i've now completed the transformation into what is probably my truest form: STAGE MOTHER!. "Thank you to my dear friend @zarastoriez & @horrifiedmovie for helping me to achieve this eventuality." Busy is extremely proud of her daughter. On her last birthday, the actress posted a slew of photos of her girl, and wrote: "Happy 16th Birthday to my Bird. There is absolutely no one like you in the world, Birdie Leigh Silverstein. "I'm forever in awe that you're my kid(but also I'm SORRY but you're SO MY KID- your RBF is proof) "You're the absolute funniest, smartest, greatest, best with a mind like no one I've ever met before. "Literally every person who has ever spent time with you would agree." LISTEN to Busy Philipps discuss her split from husband Marc Silverman on Busy Philipps is Doing Her Best She ended the sweet post with: "I love you more than anything in the world, my chicken." The actress explained: "Marc and I talked about it, and when we first separated, we couldn't even think about putting one of those statements out — it made us sick, both of us, truly ill. It's a journey. "The surest way that Marc and I have been able to ensure the privacy of our kids that we love so f**king much was by not involving the public." Along with Birdie, Busy and Marc share another child, Cricket Pearl, 12. Busy added on her podcast: "We love each other- very much! And we have these beautiful kids together. And there are a lot of things that really work about our relationship." Busy previously opened up about her relationship with Marc in her 2018 memoir, This Will Only Hurt a Little. In it she revealed she reached out for support from another man as her marriage was on the rocks. Busy wrote: "There was a man I was friends with, another dad. We'd been having lunch and stuff. Texting. Talking on the phone a lot. "Honestly, I had a crush on him. I like him. Maybe I even loved him? He clearly liked me too." Busy also once told Parents magazine: "Marriage is always hard, but especially when you have kids … You're going to go through periods when you're not into it, but there always has to be one person willing to fight. "I went to Marc several times and said, 'I cannot do this anymore. Something has to change, and it's you...'"

ITV The Chase star Mark Labbett says he could not 'wait to get away' from recent date

ITV The Chase star Mark Labbett says he could not 'wait to get away' from recent date Mark Labbett from The Chase (Image: Getty Images) Mark Labbett could not "wait to get away" from a recent date because he did not find them attractive. ‌ The 59-year-old TV personality - best known as The Beast on the ITV1 quiz show The Chase - thought he would get on well with the unnamed woman, but they did not connect. ‌ Mark exclusively told BANG Showbiz at the Celebs Go Dating launch party event at The Broadcaster gastropub in White City, West London, on July 24: "You never know who you're going to find someone who you just get on with – that's the key thing. ‌ "I won't say who, but there's been one situation I've met someone and I'm going, 'I should find them really attractive,' but instead I can't wait to get away." Asked if the woman was a celebrity, Mark responded: "No comment." The star is taking part in the upcoming series of the E4 dating show Celebs Go Dating, where he hopes to find his perfect match, with the help of the programme's dating agents, Paul Carrick Brunson, 50, Anna Williamson, 44, and Dr. Tara Suwinyattichaiporn, 36. ‌ And the experience of doing the show has taught Mark - who was married to his second cousin Katie Labbett, 32, from 2014 until 2020, and then dated TV presenter Hayley Palmer, 44, in 2023, but dumped her in 2024 - not to seek "perfection". He said: "If you expect that from your partner, if she goes, 'You don't do that,' you can't get all stroppy. "You can argue on the point of modern dating issues that you see someone who's this, this and this, and you go, reality check." ‌ Mark, who was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2017, recalled how one date on Celebs Go Dating ended prematurely because he had a hypoglycemia episode. Hypoglycemia - low blood sugar - is a condition where the glucose levels in the blood drop too low. He revealed: "One of the evenings, unfortunately, I'm a type two diabetic, I wear a glucose monitor, it went off the scale because [the date] went on too long, I'd eaten the wrong food, I didn't have my pills with me because I thought we'd be finishing an hour beforehand, and I had a full-on hypoglycemia episode, which meant I got a bit grumpy." ‌ And Mark thinks his hypoglycemia episode will not be edited out of the programme. He said: "I think they're going to leave it in! "I said to everyone afterward, 'I'm really sorry.' But actually, I went and looked, and they have got monitors, and I said, 'Look, it's still saying high, as in off-the-scale!' Article continues below "It dropped right down a few hours later, once I had water and walked around. And so I just realised I've got to be a lot more careful about things like that." Celebs Go Dating 2025 starts on Monday, August 11, at 9pm on E4.

Strictly star Shirley Ballas' relationship 'disasters' and coming to blows with another woman

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Strictly Come Dancing's head judge Shirley Ballas, a Merseyside native, has been at the helm of the judging panel on BBC One's Glitzy show since 2017. The dance veteran has also graced the US version, Dancing with the Stars, and made an appearance on ITV's The Masked Singer UK, where she participated in the fifth series as the character Rat, but was unmasked and eliminated in the third episode. Off-screen, Shirley was a professional dancer specialising in the international Latin division, bagging several championship titles. Her personal life has been just as vibrant as her career. In November last year, it was revealed that the 64-year-old dance legend had ended her relationship with boyfriend Danny Taylor after six years. Previously married twice, she has been candid about the emotional hurdles she's faced in past relationships. Sammy Stopford (Image: Getty Images for The National Lottery) Her first marriage was to her dance partner Sammy Stopford when she was a mere 18 years old. They tied the knot in 1980 and quickly ascended to stardom in the dance sphere, clinching prestigious titles like Professional Latin at Blackpool in 1983, reports Wales Online. Despite their professional triumphs as a dance duo, Shirley Ballas and Sammy ended their marriage after four years, yet they've managed to maintain a friendship. Reflecting on their past in 2017, Ballas shared: "Lunch with my first husband, Sammy Stopford. Still love him to bits." Corky Ballas (Image: Daily Record) She later tied the knot with Corky Ballas, whom she met at a dance contest in Canada. The couple exchanged vows in 1985 and soon after welcomed their son, Mark. Their union dissolved in 2007, and Shirley claimed Corky had been unfaithful in her candid 2020 autobiography Behind the Sequins, writing: "He had multiple girlfriends even when I moved to America for him. I gave up my life for that man." Allegations of infidelity weren't one sided, as Corky accused his wife of being unfaithful with "at least ten different men" throughout their lengthy union - claims Shirley has never addressed publicly. Shirley described the heated confrontation, explaining: "There was a little white angle on one of my shoulders, and a little red angel on the other one." Following a period of separation, Shirley stunned her fans by rekindling a friendly relationship with ex-partner Corky Ballas. She marked their reconciliation on Instagram with a cheerful selfie, hinting at upcoming projects in her caption as she wrote: "Meeting up with Corky Ballas, father to our wonderful son and Grandad to Banksi. Back working together, simply awesome." Coming to blows with another woman (Image: BBC) Shirley has also openly discussed a confrontation where she struck a woman who brazenly claimed she had been having an affair with her then-husband. In her book, she claimed: "The woman in question sidled up to me, clearly the worse for a drink or two, and said: 'You and I need to talk'." She elaborated: "I tried to duck it, saying I had nothing to say to her, but she refused to leave. Then, as if in slow motion, I turned to face her just as she blurted out, 'You need to get used to the fact I f****d your husband'." "The white angel told me, 'keep walking', while the red angel said, 'sock her in the gob'. So that's what I did. I punched her and she rolled away. I'm not proud. All I could hear around me were people whispering, 'Is that Shirley Ballas?'" Danny Taylor (Image: Shirley Ballas Instagram) Shirley and Danny Taylor, who share a 13-year age difference, made their relationship official in 2019 after crossing paths during pantomime season. Shirley admitted she was completely smitten, revealing early in their courtship: "I would marry him tomorrow, if he asked me. If this is what love is, I have never experienced it before." They became secretly engaged in 2021 but never made it down the aisle, and by November 2024, it was revealed that they had parted ways. On Jamie Laing's podcast, Great Company with Jamie Laing, she reflected: "Currently, I've just split with my boyfriend. My relationships have been a disaster all the way along the line. "But what I am truly grateful for is that I still have my mother and that she lives with me, and I get these precious moments with her. Because my mother is the only thing that's been a staple in my life. No friend, no marriage, no nothing." Strictly Come Dancing is due to return to BBC One later this year.
