Telangana govt will partner with Estonia to digitise health records: Sridhar
Commending Estonia for achieving 100% digitisation of health records and for its advanced digital infrastructure, Sridhar Babu said that Telangana seeks to draw upon Estonia's experience and technical expertise. 'Estonia's success in e-governance and digital health is truly inspiring. Telangana, which is still in the early stages of health data digitisation, aims to partner with Estonia to accelerate progress in this domain,' the minister stated.
The Estonian delegation comprised experts and representatives from sectors such as information and communication technology (ICT), artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and healthcare. Discussions explored mutual interests and potential areas of collaboration, particularly in public service reforms and emerging technologies.
'E-governance plays a vital role in delivering transparent and efficient public services. Estonia's collaboration can be instrumental in enhancing our systems,' said Sridhar Babu. He also underlined the growing significance of cybersecurity, stating, 'As we digitise services, safeguarding them becomes equally critical. Cybersecurity is an area where mutual cooperation with Estonia is essential.'
Speaking on the state's technological capabilities, the minister noted Telangana's remarkable growth in drone development. 'Drones manufactured in Hyderabad have demonstrated their strategic value recently in conflicts, including in operations against Pakistan. Future conflicts will be defined by drone warfare and cyberattacks,' he observed.
Sridhar Babu also highlighted Telangana's leadership in sectors such as food processing and premium liquor manufacturing and proposed further cooperation with Estonia in these industries as well.
Responding positively to Ambassador Luup's invitation, the minister confirmed that a delegation of senior officials from Telangana will travel to Estonia.

Smart ration cards to be given to 1.45 crore beneficiaries in A.P. from August 25
Andhra Pradesh Minister for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Nadendla Manohar announced that smart ration cards will be distributed free of cost to 1.45 crore beneficiaries across the State from August 25 to 31. At a press conference at the Secretariat here on Tuesday, he said the distribution will take place through constituency-level events led by MLAs, district-level programmes by Ministers, and State-wide events under the leadership of the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister. Andhra Pradesh became the first State in India to complete 96.05% KYC for ration cards. About 11.47 lakh people, aged either under five years or above 80, are exempt from KYC. Out of over 16 lakh change requests in ration cards, more than 15 lakh have been approved, Mr. Manohar said. Nearly 9.87 lakh new members have been added, bringing the total beneficiary count to 4.29 crore. Of these, 2.68 crore will receive ration from the Centre and 1.61 crore from the State. The smart cards, similar to debit/credit cards, include the head of household's photo, member names, and are linked via dynamic QR codes for real-time tracking. From next month, ration shops will operate on a fixed schedule. Home delivery continues for the elderly and physically-challenged pensioners. The State has also successfully implemented the Deepam-2 LPG subsidy scheme, transferring over ₹1,500 crore directly into beneficiaries' accounts, the Minister said.

Plans in pipeline to boost eco-tourism, temple projects in Khammam district
Hyderabad: Telangana government would be exploring various options to develop eco-tourism and temple tourism in Khammam district, as Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao asked the officials to prepare a report on development plans either by government funding or with public private partnership. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao along with Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao had a review meeting with State Tourism department at the Secretariat on Monday. The ministers instructed the officials to prepare plans for developing eco and temple tourism in erstwhile Khammam district. The officials were instructed to prepare proposals for the construction of Paleru Reservoir, Buddhist Stupa at Nelakondapalli, Parnasala, Bhadrachalam Temple, Kinnerasani Project, Haritha Hotel at Kothagudem, Kanigiri Hills, Vaira Reservoir, Velugumatla Urban Park, Ropeway at Khammam Fort, and a new Haritha hotel in Khammam. The ministers said that there were suitable environment, places, historical monuments, and temples for tourism development in the district, and there was a need to make them accessible to the people. The ministers said that the famous Bhadrachalam Ram Temple in the country should be further developed and better facilities should be provided to the devotees, and for this, the tourism department and corporations should work. The ministers said that proposals should be prepared to immediately sanction the necessary funds either through the state government or in private partnership. The officials of the Tourism Department and the District Collector were advised to visit the field level in the district and formulate appropriate activities. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is slated to visit various places related to tourism in Khammam next month and the officials were directed to make appropriate arrangements. He was advised to complete the development work related to eco-tourism in a forest area of about 500 acres near Khammam town as soon as possible. Nageshwar Rao and Jupally Krishna Rao instructed the officials to prepare proposals for the construction of a Haritha Hotel in Khammam town and also in Kothagudem.
