Cam Heyward roasts Browns QB situation: 'How many different QBs we got over there'

USA Today18-05-2025

Cam Heyward just blasted the Cleveland Browns in hilarious fashion — taking aim at their current five-man QB room.
On his podcast, Not Just Football with Cam Heyward, the big Steelers DT had this to say about Cleveland's over-capacity at the QB position:
"You don't know what's going on in Cleveland at the quarterback position. But you still have a lot of respect for guys like [Joe] Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel — uh, how many different quarterbacks we got over there? I know [the Browns] called us a dumpster fire today, but I'm just trying to figure out how many quarterbacks we got over there."
Heyward is referencing how the Browns, on the day of the NFL Schedule Release, used a picture of a dumpster fire to describe the Steelers — which clearly didn't resonate with Pittsburgh's veteran DT.
While it's easy to laugh at Cleveland's failures with arguably the most important position in all of sports, the Steelers have fared no better since Ben Roethlisberger retired — and are currently in the midst of an over two-month waiting game with 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers.

Former Bengals WR: 'George Pickens was always late, Steelers had enough of it'

While the newest Cowboys WR George Pickens turned heads for all the wrong reasons a few days ago — it isn't anything new to Pittsburgh. Pickens' on- and off-field immaturity was a conversational topic throughout the 2024 season — and it ultimately led to his Steel City exit. Long-time Steelers rival and former Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh recently addressed on his podcast Up on Game, alongside co-hosts LaVar Arrington and Plaxico Burress — and it's safe to say he isn't a fan of the former disgruntled Steeler. Advertisement Pickens' antics — specifically his consistent tardiness — are what Houshmandzadeh believes pushed Steelers HC Mike Tomlin past his breaking point: "Mike Tomlin is a coach that his players that kind of told the line and may step over it. He gives them a little leeway, he lets them be them, and then after a while, he's like, 'I can't deal with it anymore.' George Pickens had stepped over and crossed the line a bit too many times. And I know people that play with the Steelers. He'd be late for the team plane that would be flying out to away games. Multiple times, he'd be late to get on the team bus. And they just — they had enough of it." Houshmandzadeh hit the nail right on the head. The former Bengals WR knows a thing or two about what disrespecting the Steelers looks like — after all, he may be best known in the Steel City for his less-than ideal treatment of the Terrible Towel. Ohio Senate's plan to finance Browns stadium 'piracy,' county exec says

Story Highlights Ohio Senate Republicans propose using $600 million from unclaimed funds for Browns stadium. Chris Ronayne opposes the plan, calling it "piracy" of public funds. The proposal includes $1.7 billion for a Sports and Culture Facility Fund. Ohio Senate Republicans on Tuesday rejected the Ohio House's plan to issue $600 million in state bonds to help pay for a new Cleveland Browns stadium in Brook Park. Instead, the Senate GOP's initial state budget plan would get that money from the state's $4.8 billion unclaimed property fund. GET TO KNOW YOUR CITY Find Local Events Near You Connect with a community of local professionals. Explore All Events "They're coming after roughly 13% of that fund for the sole purpose of building a stadium in Brook Park," Chris Ronayne, Cuyahoga County executive, said during a late-afternoon press conference on Tuesday. "To me, it's piracy." Under the Senate's plan, $1.7 billion of Ohio's unclaimed funds would be used to create a state Sports and Culture Facility Fund, according to Senate Finance Committee Chair Jerry Cirino, a Lake County Republican, reported Of that, $600 million would be used to help cover the estimated $2.4 billion cost of building a covered Browns stadium in Brook Park, according to Cirino. The remaining $1.1 billion would be used for other stadium projects, such as upgrading the Cincinnati Bengals' Paycor Stadium, reported. "We believe this is a good plan," Cirino said during an Ohio Senate press conference Tuesday. "It doesn't put the credit of the state in jeopardy." If the state could not repay the bond funding, its credit ratings would suffer. "It is an economic development project that happens to involve a sports team and a stadium," Cirino said. "We feel it's a very creative way to ... use money that is not working for us right now." Cuyahoga County's Ronayne has vocally opposed Dee and Jimmy Haslams' plan to finance the Browns' new stadium with state money, a plan the Ohio Chamber of Commerce supports. And Ronayne calls a similar plan for Cuyahoga County to issue bonds to fund the Brook Park stadium a risky bet. Both Ronayne and Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb oppose moving the Browns out of Cleveland's lakefront stadium because they say it would siphon revenues from downtown businesses. But the Greater Cleveland Partnership, the region's chamber of commerce, endorsed moving the Browns stadium to Brook Park two weeks ago. The "doable plan" for a next-generation Browns stadium would be redeveloping Cleveland's lakefront stadium at about half the cost of the Brook Park stadium "in concert with the transformation of the Cleveland lakefront," which Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam proposed to the city more than two years ago, Ronayne said in March. On Tuesday, Ronayne likened the Browns stadium funding plan in the Ohio Senate's budget to robbery. "Frankly, your pocket is being picked [by giving] $600 million to Haslam Sports Group for the sole purpose of [funding] their next version of Cleveland Browns stadium," Ronayne said Tuesday. The senate's budget plan also cuts funding for Cuyahoga County's libraries, schools and Medicaid recipients, he said. "This is a morally bankrupted budget, and we urge the governor to line-item veto those portions of it that just don't make sense" and to restore some of the lost funding for the county, Ronayne said. Chisholm hits tiebreaking homer to lead Yankees past Guardians 3-2

Jazz Chisholm Jr. hit a tiebreaking home run in his return from a month on the injured list, Carlos Rodón won his seventh straight decision and the New York Yankees beat the Cleveland Guardians 3-2 on Tuesday night for their 11th win in 14 games. Back from a strained right oblique that caused him to miss 28 games, Chisholm pulled a fastball into the first row of the right-center seats against Tanner Bibee (4-6) for a 2-1 lead in the seventh inning. Six pitches later, Anthony Volpe drove a sweeper into the left-field stands, giving the Yankees back-to-back homers for the fifth time. Rodón (8-3) allowed one run and five hits in seven innings with eight strikeouts and one walk. He extended his scoreless streak to 20 innings and retired 17 straight batters entering the seventh, when José Ramírez singled, stole second and came around when David Fry bounced a single past DJ LeMahieu at second base. Rodón stranded runners at the corners. Devin Williams, back as closer after Luke Weaver strained a hamstring, allowed Carlos Santana's one-out double and pinch-hitter Daniel Schneemann's two-out RBI single in the ninth, then retired Bo Naylor on a flyout for his sixth save in seven chances. LeMahieu's fifth-inning single drove in Chisholm, who had blooped a single for the Yankees' first hit. Chisholm moved to third base from second, where LeMahieu is starting, and made a fine throw from foul territory to retire Angel Martínez in the third. Bibee threw a season-high 107 pitches, allowing three runs and four hits in 6 1/3 innings. Fry, whose 10th-inning homer beat the Yankees in Game 3 of last year's American League Championship Series, went 1 for 3 as the designated hitter in his first start following reconstructive right elbow surgery in November. He struck out Sunday as a pinch hitter in his season debut. Key moment Aaron Judge twice juggled and then dropped Martínez's two-out fly in the right-field corner in the sixth, but a video review ruled fan interference on the ball just over the concrete between the field and the stands. Key stat Bibee has given up 14 homers, including 11 on the road. Up next Yankees RHP Clarke Schmidt (2-2) and Guardians RHP Luis Ortiz (2-6) start Wednesday.
