'Panchayat' actress Sanvikaa opens up on fighting for respect amid nepotism in the industry: 'It does get easier if you come from a certain backdrop'

Sanvikaa, known for her role as Rinki in 'Panchayat', revealed she fights for basic respect in the industry due to nepotism. Since the show's success, opportunities have increased, but she remains selective, waiting for the right roles. She credits Panchayat for her recognition and career growth. Sanvikaa , who portrays Rinki in the popular series ' Panchayat ', is celebrating the acclaim of its fourth season. Recently, she hinted at feeling undervalued in the entertainment industry through a cryptic Instagram story. In a candid interview, she discussed the ongoing insider-outsider dynamics and revealed her hopes for her character's development in the upcoming fifth season. Clarifying the Cryptic Note When SCREEN inquired about her enigmatic Instagram note, Sanvikaa responded by clarifying, "Honestly, I don't have a problem with anyone because it was said in a certain particular context. I still stand by it, but I don't want to talk much about it." She then elaborated on the inherent struggles within the acting profession, noting, "But, it does get easier if you come from a certain backdrop. Everyone has their own fight, whether it's someone who is starting at a basic level or someone who wants to come to Bombay from their own hometown, there will be another fight. When you audition, it's another fight and when you start getting something, there's another fight. In each stage of your life as an actor, there will be different kinds of battles.' Fighting for Basic Respect She added that the context where it came from was that at least you don't have to fight for basic things like respect and being treated in a little equal way, which others are given by default. If she compares herself with the other person, they are given respect naturally. She has to keep proving and fight for it, then she is given that thing. The Viral Post and Its Message Her viral post read, 'Sometimes I wish I was an insider or maybe from a very powerful background, things would have been so much easier (maybe, I don't know) As basic as getting respect and being treated as an equal. The battles would have been lesser. Hanging on.' Growing Opportunities Post-Panchayat Sanvikaa also revealed that while she has been selective with her projects, opportunities have increased significantly since starring in 'Panchayat'. After the show, there have been a lot of opportunities, and she is getting lead roles, but she is waiting for a good opportunity because she doesn't want to disappoint her fans. She is taking her sweet time, acknowledging the expectation that comes after doing such a good role. 'Panchayat' has given her everything; wherever she goes, people recognize her only because of this show. It has given her a new life and a new identity. Changing Perceptions and Career Growth The actor shared that after season three, her career trajectory changed significantly. People began to see her potential and wanted to explore her in diverse characters, viewing her through a different lens. She noted that better character arcs are now available to her, and the flow of auditions has improved, with her actively auditioning for these roles.

Lauren Sanchez wipes Instagram posts after wedding to Jeff Bezos

Washington [US], June 29 (ANI): Hours after marrying Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sanchez has made a notable change. She has wiped her Instagram clean and updated her name on the platform to Lauren Sanchez Bezos, reported E! News. Her feed now features only one post from the wedding, showing her and Bezos walking down the aisle. The caption simply reads: "06/27/2025." The grand wedding, which took place on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, had fewer than 200 guests in attendance for the three-day celebration, according to E! News. The guest list included many high-profile names, such as Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Eva Longoria, Orlando Bloom, Bill Gates, Ivanka Trump, and Karlie Kloss. According to PEOPLE, the couple's wedding ceremony began with a performance of "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley, sung by Matteo Bocelli to cheers from the guests. Ahead of the ceremony, Bezos and Sanchez were photographed leaving the Aman Hotel separately, presumably heading for their wedding venue. The bride wore a retro-inspired, all-white suit and silk headscarf, while the groom sported a sleek black tuxedo and aviator-style shades. The couple had initially planned to hold their wedding ceremony on Saturday, June 28, at Scuola Grande della Misericordia, but made a last-minute location change due to security concerns stemming from ongoing protests against the wedding. These protests were organized by groups who viewed the event as a symbol of the growing divide between the wealthy and the less privileged. Jeff and Lauren confirmed their engagement in May 2023, a few years after publicly revealing their relationship. (ANI)

Mumbai: Late actress Shefali Jariwala's husband Parag Tyagi performed her Ashthi Visarjan at Mumbai's Juhu Beach on Sunday. An unconsolable Parag was accompanied by close family, friends, and well-wishers during the ceremony. On Saturday, Parag, along with Shefali's father and brother also performed her final rites as per Hindu tradition at Mumbai's Oshiwara Crematorium. Addressing the media post the cremation, Parag said, "Please mazak drama mat banaiyega. Main ab sab se request karta hu please meri pari ke liye sab pray kariyega' (Please avoid any drama and don't indulge in frivoulous things. I request you all to kindly pray for my Pari)." Shefali passed away on the night of June 27 after allegedly suffering a cardiac arrest. According to the reports, the Mumbai police received a distress call at 1 AM on Friday night. Parag rushed Shefali to the Cooper Hospital, however, she was declared dead on arrival. A source informed that Shefali's health started declining between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm on Friday and her body began trembling. Later, the 'Bigg Boss 13' contestant even lost consciousness. Any foul play has been ruled out in the investigation. The police have recorded the statements of eight people in this matter- including the family members, servants, and the doctor at Bellevue Hospital. Meanwhile, actor Varun Dhawan slammed the media for their coverage of Shefali's demise. Taking to his Instagram stories, Varun dropped a note schooling the media over unethical coverage. The 'October' actor even urged the media to be respectful in covering the news. Varun's note read, 'Again one more passing of a soul being insensitively covered by the media. I just don't understand why do u have to cover someone's grief. Everyone looks so uncomfortable with this, how is this benefitting anyone? My request to my friends in the media this isn't the way someone would want their final journey covered (sic)'.
