Strictly Come Dancing's George Clarke ‘gives away' who his pro dance partner is weeks before launch
Will this be a match worthy of the glitterball? TWO TO TANGO Strictly Come Dancing's George Clarke 'gives away' who his pro dance partner is weeks before launch STRICTLY star George Clarke may have accidentally let slip who he's partnered with for this year's series. Typically, it's kept under lock and key who the celebs are partnered with ahead of the launch show – which will air on BBC One in a matter of weeks. 5 George is part of this year's Strictly line-up Credit: Strictly Come Dancing / Instagram 5 The star revealed he was coupled with Lauren during his audition Credit: Strictly Come Dancing / Instagram Advertisement 5 The TikToker and podcaster will make his debut on the dancefloor next month Credit: Instagram However, in a chat on his podcast The Useless Hotline with Max Balegde, the excited George may have spilled the beans. Explaining the audition process, George revealed that he was partnered with a pro – and rehearsed with her for an hour. "I've not met anyone apart from, I believe her name's Lauren [Oakley], who was the pro that I met," he said. "Because when we had a interview for it, so it's like an hour long interview, and then like an hour long dance session." Advertisement Lauren has been on the show since 2022, and so far has competed with two stars – Krishnan Guru-Murthy, who placed 8th, and JB Gill last year, taking over from fellow pro Amy Dowden mid-season after she was forced to withdraw due to injury. JB and Lauren made it through to the finals together, but ultimately lost out to Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell. Speaking about the process, George continued that he and Lauren had to perform in front of "two lovely women from the production team that were just sat at what basically looked like a judge's desk". During the audition, George revealed he and Lauren had to learn a jive and a "little Latin number he couldn't remember the name of". Advertisement However, he later added that he wasn't sure if that practice "had any weight on who he would be partnered with on the main show", revealing the official pairing reveal would be taking place in the upcoming days. George is not the first star to reveal who he was coupled up with during his audition, with Drag Race UK star La Voix admitting that they had performed with Kai Widdrington. They told Daily Star: "I'm casting my net wide. Someone who can lift me up and show me off, that's what I want. Strictly Come Dancing 2025 lineup IN FULL - including Game of Thrones star & famous YouTuber "I like Kai. Secret inside knowledge: when I did my little dance trial for the show, I had Kai for my audition, so maybe that would be nice. He's a great guy, an amazing teacher." The official partnerships will be revealed during the official launch show, which is pre-recorded and believed to be airing on September 20th. BBC says Ozzy Osbourne documentary was delayed to respect ‘family's wishes'
Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home was due to be shown on BBC One at 9pm on Monday but was replaced with an episode of Fake Or Fortune? with the broadcaster saying the documentary had been 'moved in the schedules'. In a statement on Tuesday, a BBC spokesperson said: 'Our sympathies are with the Osbourne family at this difficult time. We are respecting the family's wishes to wait a bit longer before airing this very special film. 'The new TX (transmission) date will be confirmed shortly.' The hour-long documentary will show the late singer reuniting with the band on stage as part of the Back To The Beginning farewell concert in Birmingham, which he died just weeks later, aged 76, on July 22 from a reported heart attack. The film was originally conceived as a series, announced in 2022 and called Home To Roost, and was to document Osbourne and his wife Sharon's move back from the US, where they had lived for more than two decades, to rural Buckinghamshire. But the project 'evolved as Ozzy's health deteriorated' into the one-hour film, the BBC said. The documentary sees the story of the concert told through 'unique and intimate access to the whole Osbourne family', including Sharon, and their children Kelly and Jack. It was filmed over three years and 'captures the extraordinary rollercoaster of their lives' as the famous couple 'attempt to complete their long-held dream of moving back to the UK', the BBC has said. Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home also captures the musician as he 'heroically battles to get fit enough to perform' and the family dealing with 'the dramatic consequences of his ill health', with Kelly quoted as saying in the film: 'Iron Man wasn't really made of iron.' The rocker had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019. Last month, fans gathered alongside Osbourne's family to pay tribute to the star as a funeral cortege travelled through Birmingham. Sharon and the couple's children could be seen wiping away tears when they arrived at the Black Sabbath bench, where thousands of tributes, balloons and flowers were left. Musicians from Bostin Brass played Black Sabbath songs to accompany the cortege, and fans threw flowers at the hearse as it passed slowly through the city.
