We all love munching on crispy snacks, don't we? While there are many options to choose from, potato chips and banana chips are popular favourites. Both are easily available and make perfect companions to our evening cup of chai or coffee. However, have you ever wondered which chip is the healthier option? Do you choose banana chips over potato chips, thinking they're better for you? But is that assumption really true? Let's find out from nutritionist Amita Gadre, who recently shared her expert insights on her Instagram page.
Potato Chips Or Banana Chips? Which One Is Healthier? Here's What The Expert Reveals:
According to Amita, it's essential to check the nutrient labels of both. She states that 100 gm of potato chips contains around 50-55 gm of carbs, while banana chips have about 60-65 gm of carbs. When it comes to fat, 100 gm of banana chips pack around 40-45 gm of fat, whereas potato chips have 35-37 gm of fat. Finishing an entire pack of either would blow past your daily fat limit. So, swapping one for the other doesn't really make a difference - both are deep-fried and equally unhealthy. Amita's advice? Enjoy them in moderation!

Can You Eat Potato Chips And Banana Chips On A Weight Loss Diet?
While potato chips and banana chips can be tempting, they're not exactly the most diet-friendly snacks due to their high calorie and sodium content. However, if you're craving them, you can indulge in moderation. Try portioning out a small serving size, about a handful, and balance it out with healthier choices throughout the day. This way, you can satisfy your cravings without derailing your weight loss efforts.
How To Make Potato Chips Healthier?
If you're a fan of potato chips, there are ways to make them a little healthier. One option is to bake them instead of frying. Simply slice potatoes thin, toss with olive oil and your favourite seasonings and bake until crispy. You can also opt for sweet potato chips, which pack more vitamins A and C. Another trick is to pair them with healthier dips like guacamole or hummus. By making a few tweaks, you can enjoy potato chips in a slightly healthier way.
How To Make Banana Chips Healthier?
Banana chips can be a tasty snack but there are ways to make them healthier. Try baking sliced bananas until crispy instead of frying them. You can also look for unsweetened and unsalted banana chips to cut down on added sugars and sodium. Opt for banana chips made from ripe bananas, which are higher in antioxidants. And remember, moderation is key. Enjoy banana chips as an occasional treat and balance them out with nutrient-dense snacks to keep your diet on track.
Now that you know the truth, we hope you'll make a conscious choice when snacking on these two chips. Stay fit and healthy!

‘Elephant Mahadevi Was In Pain': PETA Official Explains Why Madhuri Had To Be Sent To Vantara

Last Updated: PETA's Radhika Suryvanshi: 'SC HPC had found that Elephant Mahadevi had grade 4 arthritis, degenerative foot rot, psychological distress because of loneliness." Amid the protests over Elephant Mahadevi's (Madhuri) rehabilitation from Kolhapur to Vantara, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) spoke to News18 to explain why this was the best move for the animal. After 33 years of abuse using shackles, iron rod to walking through processions for begging and solitary confinement, Elephant Mahadevi or Madhuri is now experiencing freedom for the first time at Anant Ambani's Vantara's Radhe Krishna Temple Elephant Welfare Trust. Elephant Mahadevi Has Several Ailments 'That is when PETA India appealed that zoo is not a fit place for the elephant as it needs rehabilitation and that the animal needed to be shifted to a wildlife sanctuary," said Suryvanshi. 'The Supreme Court's High-Powered Committee (HPC) analysed the animal's condition and concluded that it had grade 4 arthritis, degenerative foot rot, psychological distress because of loneliness. So the court asked for the elephant to be rehabilitated in a sanctuary," she said. 'The rehabilitation has been done for the betterment of Mahadevi. Claims of money exchange are false. The animal's nails have grown which is not natural for elephants as they walk for long distance. It suggests Mahadevi was in continuous pain and had pressure because of standing in one place. Seeing the report, the SC, HPC and HC decided to rehabilitate her," she said. CM Devendra Fadnavis earlier said, 'This is not a decision of the state government regarding Madhuri the elephant; it was a decision made by the Mumbai High Court. After the High Court's decision was challenged in the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court also upheld it…In this matter, as the government, we have only provided a report through the forest department." Responding to the protests, Vantara in a post said: 'We feel the depth of love that surrounds her. 🙏 At Vantara, she is held with gentle care, expert medical attention, and deep respect, in accordance with the direction of the Hon'ble Court." Kept in isolation for 30+ years and chained since 1992 after a fatal 2017 incident, elephant Mahadevi has been relocated to Gujarat's Vantara centre on Bombay HC's orders (upheld by SC).Vantara is known for its spacious, enriched habitats. It now becomes her healing ground. — Megh Updates 🚨™ (@MeghUpdates) August 4, 2025 Vantara Has A Recovery Plan For Elephant Mahadevi (Madhuri) Vantara posted her recovery plan on its Instagram handle: 'Madhuri's initial health evaluation, revealing chronic foot issues like overgrown toenails and cuticles, signs of laminitis, a long-standing toenail abscess in the right hind foot, and painful swellings on both knees. Radiographs showed fractures and arthritis in her front feet." top videos View all ALSO READ: From Begging In Chains In Kolhapur To Freedom At Vantara After 33 Years: Elephant Mahadevi's Journey It further said: 'The team has now devised a detailed treatment protocol to address the root causes, ease her discomfort, improve mobility, and support her recovery. While we await her lab reports, her nutritionist is already planning a tailored diet. For now, Madhuri needs plenty of rest, comfort, and care. To everyone who's been concerned about Madhuri: we see you, we hear you. We promise her the highest standard of care, gentle, consistent and rooted in love." Nutritionist Lists Everyday Habits That Secretly Raise Your Cortisol Levels

Stress often feels like a constant companion in today's fast-paced world. But did you know that the stress hormone cortisol, while essential to your survival, could also be quietly undermining your health? Nutritionist Anjali Mukherjee recently took to Instagram to shed light on this hormone, and why we should be paying more attention to it. Cortisol plays a major role in helping us wake up, manage energy and respond to challenges. But problems arise when cortisol levels remain chronically elevated. According to Mukherjee, sustained high cortisol can lead to several health concerns. These include belly fat accumulation, brain fog and forgetfulness, poor immunity and frequent illness, anxiety and irritability, hormonal imbalances and .sleep disturbances What's most concerning is that many of us may be unknowingly fuelling these elevated cortisol levels. Common daily habits and environmental factors could be the culprits. Mukherjee highlights a list of surprising triggers, such as excessive caffeine, poor quality sleep, toxic relationships, overtraining, doomscrolling, alcohol overuse, negative self-talk, and unmanaged daily stress. Even activities perceived as healthy, such as exercise, can become problematic when overdone. Similarly, seemingly harmless habits like scrolling endlessly through social media can send your body into a state of chronic alertness, keeping cortisol levels persistently high. According to Mukherjee, "the first step to healing is awareness." Healing begins by "identifying your triggers and consciously reducing them," says Mukherjee. This could mean establishing a consistent sleep routine, balancing workouts with rest days, setting emotional boundaries, cutting down on stimulants or seeking nutritional guidance tailored to your needs. "Your hormones are not your enemy," she says, adding, "They just need your attention." Here's nutritionist Anjali Mukherjee's post: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Anjali Mukerjee (@anjalimukerjee) Cortisol is a hormone released by the adrenal glands. Here are a few natural ways to keep it in check. Move more: Regular exercise lowers cortisol and boosts mood. Sleep well: Aim for seven to nine hours if sleep. Poor sleep spikes cortisol levels. Eat right: Focus on whole foods, omega-3s and gut-friendly choices. Breathe deep: Meditation, yoga and slow breathing reduce stress fast. Laugh often: Joyful activities cut stress and balance hormones. Cortisol issues can often go unnoticed until symptoms show up. Paying attention to your body and managing stress through simple lifestyle changes can help keep your cortisol levels in check.
