One onlooker can be heard saying 'I really don't think you should take that' but the young woman walks off with the drum towards the exit. Another said: "Have I just witnessed a crime? Has she actually just stolen a drum?"
The drama prompted an online campaign by fans to find the drum.
Other footage believed to be of the hotel posted at about 9am today showed a man on a phone with the custom-made drum in his hands, before it was eventually re-united with the band.
It means the duo from Ohio, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, are back in possession of the drum in time for their concerts in London from tomorrow.
Instagram account saxontour, who is traveling with the band on the Clancy world tour, posted a photo of the missing drum in the back seat of a car and said: "We have the drum!!!!!! Thank you for all the tags and information. You guys rock!"
A spokeswoman for the AO Arena said: "Following a particularly interactive part of the show where the band performed on the arena floor, one of the drums was taken away by a fan.
"The item was quickly recovered by the venue team, and has been returned safely to the tour ready for their sold out show in London tomorrow night."

Caitlin Clark Hilariously Got Into It With Fever Teammate on Friday

Caitlin Clark Hilariously Got Into It With Fever Teammate on Friday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Caitlin Clark is still out with a quad injury. She is set to miss her fourth straight game on Saturday in the Indiana Fever's marquee matchup against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky. Advertisement Amid her injury, Clark has been doing all she can to support her teammates in whatever way possible. She has been cheering from the bench during games and has been attending practice to help push her Fever teammates. The 23-year-old has remained active on social media as well, which involves the occasional troll job on her Fever teammates. Friday's victim was Lexie Hull, who was on the receiving end of a "weird" jab from Clark on one of the team's Instagram posts. Indiana Fever guards Caitlin Clark and Lexie Hull© Grace Smith/IndyStar / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Hull responded by accusing Clark of being a "super uninteresting gal." Hull even decided to drag her twin sister, Lacie Hull, into the exchange, alleging that Clark is "obsessed" with her and her sister. Advertisement Not to be outdone, Clark clapped back with one final message to end it all. "I like Lacie not u," wrote the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year. This is far from the first time Clark and Hull have been involved in some back-and-forth on a very public platform. It was all in good fun, though, which also speaks volumes about the relationship these two have. Hull will need to be at her best on Friday as the Fever take on one of their biggest rivals. Clark won't be on the court to help Indiana against the Sky, and players like Hull will need to step up in her stead.
