In #11YearsOfSashaktNari , the Modi government has given a new boost to the spirits of women by making them self-reliant. From 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' to toilets, Ujjwala, ban on triple talaq, their dignity and 'Nari Shakti Vandan Act' and recruitment in armed forces are ensuring their historic participation in nation-building.'

Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that various government initiatives are intended to empower the country's 'Nari Shakti.'
In a post on X, PM Modi said that women are excelling and inspiring several people in all sectors, including science, education, sports, StartUps and the armed forces.
'Over the last 11 years, the NDA Government has redefined women-led development. Various initiatives, from ensuring dignity through Swachh Bharat to financial inclusion via Jan Dhan accounts, the focus has been on empowering our Nari Shakti,' PM Modi said.
'In all sectors, including science, education, sports, StartUps and the armed forces, women are excelling and inspiring several people,' the Prime Minister said.
PM Modi highlighted the key schemes launched by his government, such as Ujjwala Yojana and the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme.
'Ujjwala Yojana brought smoke-free kitchens to several homes. MUDRA loans enabled lakhs of women entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams on their own terms. Houses under the women's name in the PM Awas Yojana too have made a remarkable impact. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao ignited a national movement to protect the girl child,' he said. (ANI)

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his 12th Independence Day address from the Red Fort, dwelt on a wide range of topics relating to national security. Modi announced a plan to develop an indigenous defence system, called Sudarshan Chakra, expected to be deployed by 2035. He also promised a Rs 1 lakh crore Rozgar Yojana for the young, invoked the symbolism of naari shakti, and cited the achievements of the country in various fields. The promises included next generation GST reforms, to be rolled out by Diwali, to reduce the tax burden and make goods and services cheaper. .The prime minister announced the launch of a high-powered Demography Mission to address what he called a deliberate conspiracy to change the demography of the country. No proof of such a conspiracy was given and the announcement is in line with the politics of communal dog whistling that the Hindutva groups have been pursuing. .It is no surprise that Modi also praised the RSS and its activities. The theme of infiltration has been used in the past electorally and politically and his announcement indicates that it will be pushed to the front in the coming days. The move goes beyond justified concerns over illegal immigration and aims to create a polarising narrative against some sections of society.

INDIA Bloc Leaders Likely To Discuss Joint Veep Candidate Today
New Delhi: The opposition INDIA bloc leaders are likely to discuss their joint candidate for the post of vice-president at a meeting of floor leaders on Monday morning. Sources said the INDIA bloc leaders would meet at the office of Mallikarjun Kharge, the leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, at 10.15 am on Monday. The meeting will be held a day after the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) announced Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan as its nominee for the post of vice-president, the second-highest constitution position in the country. Radhakrishnan hails from Tamil Nadu, which will go to polls in 2026. While the ruling BJP feels that the nomination of Radhakrishnan, a seasoned BJP leader with an RSS background, will elicit support from the wider opposition, especially the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu, it remains to be seen what stand the opposition parties take on Monday. BJP president J P Nadda, while announcing the nomination of Radhakrishnan after a meeting of the party's parliamentary board on Sunday, said the NDA will speak to the opposition parties to reach a consensus for the vice-presidential election. The Congress-led INDIA bloc partners earlier announced their decision to field a joint 'non-political' candidate for the election. The vice-presidential election, necessitated by the sudden resignation of incumbent Jagdeep Dhankhar last month, is scheduled for September 9. The last date for filing nomination is August 21.

Reiterating his Independence Day remarks, Modi said his government is committed to far-reaching economic reforms and good governance even as he charged Congress with treating Dalits as "slaves" by continuing with their archaic laws while flashing copies of the a rally here after inaugurating two major national highway projects - the Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road-II - worth ₹11,000 crore, Modi underscored two key themes of his Independence Day speech - of India giving a befitting reply to its enemies and of becoming Aatmanirbhar (self-reliant). "To make India strong, we must move forward taking inspiration from Chakradhari Mohan (Lord Krishna) and to make India self-reliant, we have to tread on the path of Charkhadhari Mohan (Mahatma Gandhi)," Modi appealed to the people to be "vocal for local" and buy swadeshi products. He also underlined that the next-generation GST reforms will be a double bonus for people during Diwali. He emphasised that his government stands for expansion of good governance to make life and business easy. He underlined that good governance means treating the people as supreme. "You are our high command. Our constant endeavour is to make the lives of people easy. This is visible in our policies, in our decisions," he said. Modi attacked the erstwhile Congress governments for what he termed as an "indifferent attitude" towards development. This was visible in the low budgets allocated for infrastructure development."Pressure and interference of the government used to be very high earlier. Our aim is to end both," Modi cited an example of a harsh law against sanitation workers that was prevalent for a long time."Previous governments in Delhi used to treat the sanitation workers as their slaves. Those who dance with (copies of) the Constitution on their head used to trample the Constitution. You will be shocked to hear the truth about how they used to betray your feelings. There was a dangerous law against our sanitation workers. In the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, there was a provision that if a sanitation worker does not turn up for work for a day without informing (his superiors), then he could be imprisoned for a month. Can you put somebody in jail for such a minor mistake?" Modi claimed that while those who make tall claims about social justice kept such laws in force, his government is looking out for such laws and abolishing them.
