Michigan Football Hoping For 5-Star O-Line Commitment on 4th of July Holiday
The Michigan football program is hoping to put together one of the better offensive line classes in the country for 2026, with massive 6-foot-6, 318 pound Hawaiian offensive tackle Malakai Lee giving his pledge to Michigan earlier this week.

Lee's commitment was added to a list that includes three-stars Bear McWhorter and Marky Walbridge.
Recently one of the nation's top five o-linemen announced that he would choose between the Wolverines and three other national football powers, giving coach Sherrone Moore's program a chance to land a player who could become a bookend, road grading blocking in both the passing game and the running game for years to come.

"Five-star OT Felix Ojo will announce his Commitment on July 4th, he tells me for @Rivals Recruits," Hayes Fawcett wrote of the five-star offensive tackle.
"The No. 6 Recruit in the '26 Class will choose between Florida, Texas, Michigan, & Ohio State Where Should He Go?" Fawcett asked.

"Texas is the only logical answer here," one fan said.
"Go to the coach that has produced 2 Joe Moore winning lines," another said of Michigan and Moore.
"Sounds like Texas but the way Michigan is recruiting you never know," another fan added.
Ojo hails from Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield, Texas and stands 6-feet-7 inches tall, weighing nearly 300 pounds.
He would become Michigan's fourth recruit for 2026 from the class of Texas if he offers his pledge to the Wolverines, joining Zion Robinson of Mansfield High School, Alister Vallejo and Jaylen Pile, the latter of whom has been one of the Wolverines' most active players on social media in efforts to recruit other players.

Sean McVay noticing a change in Stetson Bennett's confidence this season
Quarterback Stetson Bennett never appeared to lack confidence when he was leading Georgia to back-to-back national titles. And for the first time since the Rams drafted him in 2023, Bennett is practicing with an obvious spring in his step. With starter Matthew Stafford sidelined because of a back issue, and Jimmy Garoppolo running the first-team offense, Bennett has impressed while working with the second unit. 'Everything is just more comfortable,' Bennett said Thursday after a full pads practice at Loyola Marymount. Read more: Rams linebacker Nate Landman wears his pride on body and helmet Bennett, 27, played in the 2023 preseason but was out during the regular season for what he later acknowledged as a mental-health issue. He returned last season, played in the preseason, and was the No. 3 quarterback behind Stafford and Garoppolo. But the tentativeness of the last season appears to be gone. He has connected for touchdowns and big gains with several receivers while avoiding poor decisions and turnovers. 'Confidence, and he's enjoying it,' coach Sean McVay said when asked what he noticed as the biggest difference in Bennett. 'When you watched him play at Georgia, and even some of the preseason games, when he gets into a rhythm and he's smiling, all these great competitors, there's an enjoyment for mastering their craft and enjoyment of just being totally immersed in the moment, and then enjoyment of your teammates' success.' Etc. Starting safety Kam Curl (ankle) is week to week and cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr. (hamstring) will be out one to two weeks, McVay said. ... Puka Nacua tipped a ball to himself in the end zone for a touchdown pass from Garoppolo. ... Safety Kam Kinchens and cornerback Derion Kendrick intercepted passes by Garoppolo. ... Rangers add veteran right-hander Merrill Kelly in a trade with the Diamondbacks
PHOENIX (AP) — The Texas Rangers acquired right-hander Merrill Kelly from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday, adding a veteran starter with postseason experience to fortify their rotation at the trade deadline. The D-backs received three minor league pitchers: left-handers Kohl Drake and Mitch Bratt and right-hander David Hagaman. The 36-year-old Kelly has spent all of his seven major league seasons leagues with the Diamondbacks. He was the only Arizona pitcher to beat the Rangers in the 2023 World Series, throwing seven dominant innings in Game 2. Kelly is 9-6 with a 3.22 ERA and 121 strikeouts over 128 2/3 innings this season. The Rangers entered Thursday with a 57-52 record, tied with the Seattle Mariners for the final American League wild-card spot. The D-backs were sellers at the deadline, sending first baseman Josh Naylor and third baseman Eugenio Suarez to the Mariners in separate deals. Outfielder Randal Grichuk was shipped to the Royals. Arizona is 51-58 after entering the season with playoff expectations. General manager Mike Hazen said it was particularly tough to lose Kelly, given his history with the organization. 'There's the collective disappointment in how we've played,' Hazen said. 'We all feel it. The players feel it, I've certainly taken responsibility, shared that with them, how I didn't do a good enough job to keep this team in position to keep going.' ___ AP MLB:
