Charlize Theron hopes her kids feel proud of her movie stunts
The Hollywood actress is mother to daughters Jackson, 12, and August, nine, and she's revealed her girls don't seem to be impressed by her film career but she hopes one day they will be able to look back at her work and feel proud.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: "They're kids. They're doing exactly what they're supposed to do. I don't think anybody's kids really feel that way about their parents, no matter what they do. And they're teenagers now.
"So, even if they were [impressed], they would never show it. But I want to believe that we'll actually sit down one day when they're old enough to have a glass of wine, and they'll say: 'You know what, Mom? It was pretty badass when you were 50 and you were hanging off that helicopter. We never gave you your props'."
Charlize was referring to a stunt featured in her new Netflix film The Old Guard 2 in which she is seen hanging from the side of a helicopter in flight, and the actress admits it was a tough scene to film but it felt very safe.
She added to the publication: "I haven't spent a lot of time on helicopters; I'm not crazy about them either. It just came out of the creative process and wanting to make that third-act set piece be as big as we all wanted it to be ...
"Fred North, who's a legend in the business and does all the helicopter action work in every movie, then came on board. And I asked him ... 'How can we do it practically and safely so that it feels like you haven't seen this before in a movie?'
"And he said to us: 'I don't know why, but I've never done this with an actor. [It] is actually incredibly safe if we do it the right way. It will look great, and you can do it all practically with a real helicopter.'
"So he was really the one that threw this idea at us, and that's where it originated."

Adult film star's cause of death revealed
Adult film star Kylie Page's cause of death has been revealed, according to reports. The 28-year-old, who starred in a Netflix mini-series about the sex work industry, died at her Los Angeles County home from a suspected overdose, TMZ reported. Page's body was reportedly discovered after police carried out a welfare check at her Hollywood residence following a call from a concerned friend. It is understood that fentanyl and drug paraphernalia were found at her home, where she was pronounced dead by emergency services. Sexual photos of her with different men were also found scattered around her apartment, law enforcement sources said. Page's death is being investigated as an overdose, and no foul play is suspected at this stage, police told TMZ. No official cause of death has yet been given, according to the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner. Page died on June 25, one day after her final social media post on X. A GoFundMe has been set up by Page's family to bring her body back to the Midwest from California and cover her funeral costs. 'This GoFundMe isn't just about funeral expenses. It's about bringing Kylie home. It's about helping her family breathe through the shock, the grief, and the unimaginable reality they're living in,' a post on the website said. Page starred in more than 200 adult movies since starting her career in the industry in 2016, working with major names such as Vixen Media and Brazzers. 'The Brazzers team is deeply saddened to learn of Kylie Page's passing,' Brazzers wrote in a statement on X. 'Kylie will be remembered for her laughter, kindness and bringing light wherever she went. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Kylie's family, friends, and fans during this difficult time.' She also appeared in the Netflix series Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On in 2017, in which she openly discussed her struggles with substance abuse.

Charlize Theron won't ever name 'scumbag' director
Charlize Theron refuses to name the "scumbag" director she has accused of sexual harassment. The 49-year-old actor previously opened up about an unnamed director she worked with early in her career, and accused him of greeting her in his pyjamas for an audition at his home, before putting "his hands on (her) knees", at which point she left. Reflecting on why she has never revealed the identity of the director, she told the Call Her Daddy podcast: "I don't want the story to be about him. It's not because I'm protecting him or anything." The Old Guard 2 star admitted the director "got nervous" after she initially opened up about the allegations on The Howard Stern Show in 2019. "He got nervous for a little bit," she said. "He heard me tell the story and he knew it was about him, and he wrote me a pretend letter trying to explain his behaviour and how I must have misunderstood it, which is classic, isn't it? It's so classic. "I won't even f***ing say your name because you know you're the scumbag. You know it's you. If anybody ever asked me about him, I would be completely honest - and he knows that. "I kind of like that he's got to be on a hot seat. He doesn't know when it's going to come. I kind of like that a little more." The Oscar winner noted that at the time she "didn't know what the audition process looked like", but she still had a feeling that "this isn't right". "It was this director's house. The little voice inside me definitely said, 'This isn't right.' But then, the other voice in me says, 'Well, I don't know. Maybe it is right.'"
