Adam Sandler is set to return to the golf course in the much-anticipated sequel, Happy Gilmore 2. The film will debut on Netflix on July 25, as revealed in the official trailer.
While Netflix has kept the storyline under wraps, the trailer shows Happy Gilmore facing new challenges as he prepares to go head-to-head with PGA professionals. However, true to form, his return to the game is filled with chaos and humor.
Sandler reprises his role as Happy Gilmore, and he's joined by several familiar faces. Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, and Ben Stiller return to their roles, while new additions to the cast include Bad Bunny, NFL star Travis Kelce, and Sandler's daughters, Sadie and Sunny. The film also features appearances from real-life professional golfers such as John Daly, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Bryson DeChambeau.
Sandler gave fans a glimpse of the film last year during an appearance on The Tonight Show, teasing the sequel's development: 'We worked hard on the script. We didn't want to let anybody down. People have been asking me for a long time. We're really excited about it. We wrote our asses off,' Sandler said. 'So many of the golfers are being nice and will be a part of it.'
Kelce, who has recently started exploring acting with roles in Grotesquerie and the upcoming action-comedy Loose Cannons, expressed his excitement for the project. In a May podcast, he shared his desire to appear in the sequel, and Sandler confirmed his involvement. 'He's gonna come by. He's a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He's a stud and he's so funny,' Sandler remarked, though Kelce does not appear in the newly released trailer.
Directed by Kyle Newacheck, who previously worked with Sandler and Jennifer Aniston on Netflix's Murder Mystery, Happy Gilmore 2 is co-written by Sandler and Tim Herlihy, who also wrote the original film. Director Dennis Dugan returns as an executive producer. Fans can expect another hilarious adventure with the return of Happy Gilmore on July 25.

Netflix renews Prince Harry and Meghan Markle deal with new projects on the way

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially extended their multi-year first-look deal with Netflix through their company Archewell Productions, cementing their ongoing partnership with the streaming giant. Originally signed in 2020, the deal has already delivered several high-profile projects including the documentary series Harry & Meghan, the competitive sports-focused Heart of Invictus, the leadership-themed Live to Lead, and the reality programme Polo. One of the most notable successes from the collaboration has been Meghan's lifestyle series With Love, Meghan, which blends home, food and cultural elements. The series is set to return for a second season later this month, aligning with the launch of her new brand As Ever, a venture developed in partnership with Netflix. A holiday-themed special of the show is also scheduled to drop in December, aimed at capturing the festive audience. The renewed agreement also paves the way for a range of new productions. Among them is Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within, a documentary short focusing on a Ugandan orphanage where children use dance as a form of healing and self-expression. Another upcoming project is a film adaptation of Carley Fortune's bestselling romantic drama novel Meet Me at the Lake, which is expected to attract significant attention given its compelling love story and scenic settings. Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria praised the couple's ability to connect with global audiences, citing the massive reach of Harry & Meghan and the warm reception for With Love, Meghan. She emphasised that their projects have consistently delivered both emotional depth and mass appeal, making the renewed partnership a natural next step. As part of their expanded slate, the Duke and Duchess are expected to explore a mix of scripted and unscripted content, further solidifying their position as influential voices in entertainment.

Fans speculate Taylor Swift may reveal 12th album on Travis and Jason Kelce's podcast

Speculation is growing among Taylor Swift fans that the singer could announce her 12th studio album on the podcast hosted by NFL players Travis and Jason Kelce. On Monday, Taylor Nation — Swift's official marketing and publicity team — shared a post on Instagram that caught the attention of the Swiftie community. The caption read: 'Thinking about when she said 'See you next era…'' alongside images of outfits from the Eras Tour featuring prominent orange tones. The post concluded with a burning heart emoji, a detail fans believe symbolises a shift into a new creative period. The consistent use of orange has become a focal point for fan theories. Earlier teasers also incorporated the colour, leading some to believe it could be a theme for the upcoming album, widely referred to online as #TS12. Theories intensified after some linked the visual style of the teasers to the Kelce brothers' podcast, which has become known for drawing high-profile guests. Travis and Jason Kelce's podcast, popular for its mix of sports talk and celebrity interviews, has a substantial following that extends beyond American football fans. Supporters suggest the platform could serve as an unconventional but impactful setting for a major announcement from Swift. While there has been no official confirmation from Swift or her representatives, fans have been quick to analyse every clue. Social media platforms have been filled with discussions about the meaning of the orange colour scheme and whether it signals a new era in her music. Swift's most recent album, The Tortured Poets Department, was released in April 2024. If the speculation proves correct, the new project would mark her 12th studio release and continue her pattern of embedding cryptic hints in promotional material.

Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan join forces in Netflix's The Thursday Murder Club

Netflix has unveiled the trailer for The Thursday Murder Club, a star-studded adaptation of Richard Osman's bestselling novel that blends humour, intrigue and unexpected danger. The film, set to premiere on 28 August, follows four spirited retirees whose hobby of digging into cold case murders takes an unforeseen turn when a real crime lands at their feet. Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan and Ben Kingsley headline the cast, bringing both gravitas and comedic flair to the offbeat whodunnit. Their characters, far from content with knitting and tea, are portrayed as quick-witted, sharp-tongued and surprisingly resourceful when faced with genuine peril. The story's charm lies in its cosy crime setup colliding with high-stakes twists. While these amateur detectives have enjoyed the safe distance of unsolved mysteries, the arrival of an active case puts them right in the firing line. From quirky clues to tense stand-offs, the trailer teases a playful yet suspenseful tone. Osman's novel has enjoyed international success for its blend of warm character dynamics and clever plotting, and Netflix appears intent on capturing that same spirit for the screen. The visuals promise picturesque village life punctuated by the thrill of the chase, while the performances from the veteran cast suggest equal parts charm and bite. Fans of the book have already taken to social media to express excitement, with some praising the casting as a perfect match and others eager to see how the adaptation will handle the novel's layered humour. The combination of celebrated acting talent, a beloved source material and Netflix's global reach positions The Thursday Murder Club to be one of the streaming platform's major late-summer draws. Whether audiences tune in for the star power, the mystery or the banter between the unlikely sleuths, it is clear that this group of retirees is about to prove they are anything but retired from adventure.
