13 Bangladeshis held in Vadodara for illegal stay

and the govt railway police (GRP) in the last 24 hours. While eight of them were nabbed from different areas of the city, five others, including two children, were held while travelling in the 3AC coach of the Ahmedabad-Howrah Express.
"All the eight Bangladeshis staying illegally in different areas of the city were confined, and their deportation process will begin soon. We are conducting an intensive drive to track down the Bangladeshis staying illegally in the city," said Narasimha Komar, City Police Commissioner.
Hundreds of people from Ektanagar and some other areas were taken to the police stations to verify their credentials and citizenship on Sunday. "We detained 41 more people whose credentials are being verified. A team of city police was sent to the north-eastern states to verify the identities of those caught in the city," Komar told TOI.
The police said that some of the Bangladeshis were working as electricians, while the women are suspected to be victims of human trafficking. The number of detainees is expected to go up in the next few days.
Saroj Kumari, superintendent of police, Western Railway, Vadodara division, said that they were conducting checks in all the trains when they spotted some passengers in a suspicious condition in the coach of Ahmedabad-Howrah Express that stopped at the Vadodara railway station. The cops questioned them and asked for their identity cards.
They revealed that they are Bangladesh residents who were staying illegally in India. Four of them are from the same family, and they were staying in the Isanpur area of Ahmedabad, while the fifth one used to stay in Surat.
Those staying in Ahmedabad have been identified as Ohidul Sheikh, his wife Parveen Sheikh, and their two minor children. The couple used to do rag-picking for a living. The fifth one has been identified as Sher Ali Lutpar, who used to beg for a living in Surat.

'We are investigating the claims,' Lodha said. Her family members have also said she made contact with them, but have refused to divulge any further details. The disappearance of the 29-year-old had sparked a multi-state search and raised questions about what happened during what should have been a routine 12-hour journey home. She is a lawyer practising at the Madhya Pradesh High Court's Indore bench and has also been preparing for civil judge examinations. She was living in a hostel in Indore. On the morning of August 5, two days before Rakshabandhan, Archana left her Indore hostel with her bag packed with festival gifts and boarded the Narmada Express. At 10.16 pm that night, Archana called her aunt and said she had reached near Bhopal. This would be her last known communication for nearly two weeks. When the train pulled into Katni South railway station the next morning, her family stood waiting on the platform but Archana did not come out. Her last digital trace was a cell tower ping near the Narmada Railway Bridge in Narmadapuram district, a location that later become the epicentre of search operations. The search for Archana had become a coordinated effort spanning multiple states. Police teams scoured areas from Rani Kamalapati railway station to Itarsi and Katni, analysing CCTV footage from stations and surrounding areas.

3 who looted jeweller at Mumbai Central station were cops, confirms CCTV footage
MUMBAI: Two days after a case was registered by the Government Railway Police (GRP) against three persons presumed to be cops for extorting ₹30,000 from a Rajasthani jeweller at Mumbai Central station, the three were identified as police personnel and suspended by the GRP commissioner. GRP commissioner Rakesh Kalasagar said that the four had been transferred to the GRP headquarters at Wadi Bunder while the assistant sub-inspector and two constables involved in the Mumbai Central robbery are absconding. The incident took place on August 10 at around 10.30 pm when the jeweller, Kamal Soni, was at the railway station with his daughter and brother-in-law to board a train for Rajasthan. There, two men in khaki uniform, asked to check his bag. Soni, who had arrived in Mumbai on August 1 for a gold exhibition, had a 14-gram gold bar and ₹31,900 in cash in his bag. 'The man in uniform was sitting with two others on the iron bench meant for police personnel,' he said. 'When he discovered the gold bar and cash, he began asking questions. I told him I could produce receipts but he slapped me in front of my seven-year-old and abused me. The men then took me to a dark room on the platform, kept me there for half an hour and threatened me with arrest.' Soni said that since he did not want to miss his train and see his daughter traumatised, he let the men take the money. 'They returned ₹1,900 to me. I then boarded my train,' he said. An FIR was registered on Sunday at Ratangard police station and then transferred to Mumbai Central GRP. After Soni wrote to the authorities, the Mumbai Central GRP booked three unidentified men under Section 119 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita. They were later identified as GRP personnel.

Missing MP lawyer traced in UP's town on Nepal border after 12 days
