Fortnite OG Season 5 release date - here's when the next season comes out
What's new in Fortnite?
Epic Games just launched the collab for The Fantastic Four: The First Steps, with movie-inspired skins available as rewards as part of a new Tournament. In terms of the OG mode, there's set to be a live event on Saturday (July 26) centered around a rocket launch. Until then, there's the new Thermal Rifle to try out, as well as a whole new OG Battle Pass to work through.
Fortnite OG wowed players when it first returned, offering up retooled versions of various classic seasons, which changed each week. It proved to be a massive hit, with player counts absolutely skyrocketing in the month or so Fortnite OG was live.
It's no surprise then, that it's now come back as a permanent fixture, continuing into 2025, and Epic has confirmed that the next season of Fortnite OG will begin in August.
Thankfully, the ongoing battle royale title receives regular updates from its developers teasing what's coming, and we do now know that Fortnite OG is going to cycle through seasons. Now that the new season of Fortnite battle royale has launched, the runway is clear for OG to take the spotlight.
Here's everything you need to know about when Fortnite OG Season 5 launches. We'll cover everything officially revealed by Epic Games, some info on what to expect, as well as a round-up of how things played out last time. As news comes out, this page will be updated.
Fortnite OG Season 5 release date
Fortnite OG Season 5 will launch on August 8, 2025. This is according to the in-game Battle Pass screen. Recently, Epic Games has started to detail a live event that'll arrive on July 26. We'll have to wait and see where it lands this time around.
Fortnite OG is now a dedicated mode moving forward, cycling through Chapter 1 seasons in a similar way to how things worked at the end of 2023, though slightly elongated. Chapter 1 Season 2 ended on March 25, 2025, with Season 3 came to a close on June 8, 2025. This recreates the pattern of the original run, adding loot pool changes and feature introductions. You can read more in the full Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 4 blog post.
The best place to keep up on specific updates closer to the launch of the new season of Fortnite OG is the Fortnite Status X / Twitter account. We'll be sure to keep this page up to date as well.
What is Fortnite OG?
Fortnite OG launched in November 2023 and switched the game all the way back to the 2018 map. Specifically, it started in Season 5, with the return of Tilted Towers, a throwback weapon loot pool, and several OG skins to buy in the store. Each week, Epic Games moved the clock forward to the next season, rotating through Season 6, Season 7/8, and then Season 9/10.
The map went back to a more classic style, visually and in terms of level design. Iconic locations like Frosty Flights came back, as did old-school vehicles like the X-4 Stormwing. This lasted until December 2, 2023, when the game switched over to a new season. Fortnite OG returned on December 6, 2024 and is now a permanent mode, with its own seasons cycle.
Fortnite OG map
Above, you can see the current Fortnite OG map. It's been meticulously recreated, with every tree, car, chest and object is right where you remember it. Ziplines and ascenders have been added in Zero Build to aid movement. As the seasons change, we'll likely see the map change with it, as well. With Season 4, you'll be able to jump into Dusty Divot, and Risky Reels.
Fortnite OG weapons loot pool
Here's the weapons added as part of Fortnite OG season 3:
Shopping Carts (live now)
Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle (live now!) - Spot your enemies easier. It'll also highlight Chests and Supply Drops for you!

Mushrooms - There's no funny business here, these fungi's provide 5 Shield and can be the difference between a slim victory or swift elimination…

Drum Gun - Rapid fire your way to dominance like someone's supporting you with a drum roll
Dual Pistols - This pair of pistols packs a punch if you're willing to get up close and personal.
Jetpack - Take to the sky and get an aerial advantage over your opponents. Be warned though — it's a long way to the ground when you're all out of fuel

Everything We Know About Metro Boomin's Upcoming Mixtape ‘A Futuristic Summa'
Metro Boomin's A Futuristic Summa is finally set to arrive this week. Dropping one year after the super-producer's insane 2024 run with Future, A Futuristic Summa is looking to keep the party going with dozens of features and summertime-friendly bangers. More from Billboard Listen to Ghostface Killah Channel Eric B & Rakim in New Single 'Rap Kingpin' Quavo's Rocket Foundation Launches Trauma Therapy Fund in Response to Atlanta Shootings Doechii Teases She's 'Bringing a Guest' to Her Lollapalooza Set If history is any indication, Young Metro is about to cause quite a stir with this new record. Metro's previous two efforts, We Don't Trust You and We Still Don't Trust You, not only both debuted atop the Billboard 200, but the former snagged a Grammy nomination for best rap album, while the latter also scored a Grammy nomination for best melodic rap performance for its title track. Not to mention, the Billboard Hot 100-topping 'Like That' with Kendrick Lamar kickstarted last year's monstrous rap beef between K-Dot and Drake (and was also Grammy nominated for best rap song and best rap performance). While not much is confirmed in regards to what we can expect on Metro's new LP, the producer has sprinkled tons of breadcrumbs along the way on Instagram and elsewhere to help fans figure out what they can expect. The album was technically supposed to drop last Tuesday (July 22), but was delayed at the last minute for unknown reasons: 'Patience is a virtue' was all Metro said in regards to the delay. So as everyone patiently waits with bated breath for Friday, here's everything there is to know about A Futuristic Summa so far, including confirmed features, track list and more. The Mixtape Will Be Hosted By DJ Spinz When Metro announced the mixtape earlier this month, one of the first confirmed details to emerge was that the listening experience would be hosted by DJ Spinz. Spinz is a well known Atlanta DJ-turned-record producer who created some of the biggest hits to ever come out of the ATL; 'F—k Up Some Commas' by Future, 'Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)' by the late Rich Homie Quan and 'Blasé' by Ty Dolla $ign are just a few examples. The announcement was celebrated in the IG comments by people very familiar with Spinz' legacy in Atlanta, including Big Sean and Zaytoven. A Futuristic Summa Will Have 23 Tracks and 21 Features When A Futuristic Summa arrives on Friday, it will come stacked with 23 tracks and 21 features. When fans go to pre-save the album on Metro's MySpace-themed website, it lists out the track numbers and features. So far, the confirmed features on A Futuristic Summa include Lil Baby, 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka Flame, Roscoe Dash, T.I., BunnaB, Rocko, YK Niece, Meany (Of Shop Boyz), Rich Kidz, Travis Porter, Young Dro, Quavo, J Money and, of course, Future. There are still more features to announced, but with a tracklist this stacked, it's looking to be an ATL family reunion. The First Single Features Roscoe Dash While it's not yet available on streaming, fans who tuned into Metro's website were able to listen to a snippet of the album's first single: 'Slide' with Roscoe Dash. The melodic cut is given a less than two-minute preview on Metro's website, but was then released in full on YouTube on July 4. The track is a good appetizer for what fans can expect from the record — a nostalgic spin of early-2000s energy. The Cover Art Pays Tribute to Young Scooter and Takeoff A Futuristic Summa's colorful cover art has a lot going on, but also gives multiple hints showing this tape will fully be dedicated to the ATL: Two kids seen running through the streets with squirt guns on the cover are wearing T-shirts that read: 'RIP Scooter' and 'RIP Takeoff.' Metro worked extensively with both rappers before their respective passings. Metro Teased a New Track Snippet With Waka Flocka Flame and Quavo On Sunday (July 27), Metro showcased a studio session with Jose Guapo. Alongside Waka Flocka Flame, they played through a new track, reportedly titled 'Atlanta Bow Bow,' which also features Quavo and the 'O Let's Do It' rapper. The artists are seen getting incredibly rowdy when Flocka's verse comes on, adding to the speculation that this is gonna be an album catered to an outside vibe. It Was Likely Delayed Because of Future When Metro announced last week that he'd be delaying A Futuristic Summa, he did so by linking to a video that included a voicemail from Future. '3 times where you at?' Pluto says. 'I'm pullin' up to the lab right now. I gotta drop a verse on this Futuristic Summa s—t.' If the end result is like anything that came out back in 2024, it'll be well worth the delay. Spider-Man: Brand New Day set photos seem to confirm the Marvel movie will be set over a year before Avengers: Doomsday
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. The plot of Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up with the addition of Jon Bernthal's Punisher to the cast and news of its more street level setting, and now we may have some more info about where it lands on the MCU timeline in relation to Avengers: Doomsday. The set photos, seen below, show some signage for a construction project that's happening in the film, with the information on the sign indicating that the project will be finished in "December 2027." This places Spider-Man: Brand New Day as roughly contemporary to Thunderbolts*, which takes place in late 2027, according to the official timeline. This in turn establishes roughly where Spider-Man: Brand New Day will take place in the lead up to Avengers: Doomsday, the events of which kick off 14 months after Thunderbolts*, according to that film's post-credits scene, which appears to show the arrival of the Fantastic Four in the MCU from their alternate timeline of Earth-828. That generally tracks with the release order of the films as well, with Spider-Man: Brand New Day arriving in July 2026, and Avengers: Doomsday following in December. Spider-Man: Brand New Day takes its title from the 'Brand New Day' era of the comics, which took place after the dissolution of Peter Parker's marriage to Mary Jane Watson, and the erasure of his secret identity from the memories of nearly everyone on Earth. The events of the preceding film in the franchise, Spider-Man: No Way Home, generally echo this, with Peter enlisting Doctor Strange to make everyone in the world forget his identity after it was exposed in the end of its predecessor Spider-Man: Far From Home. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to premiere on July 31, 2026 as part of Marvel Phase 6. In the meantime, here's how to watch all of the Marvel movies in order, as well as our guide to watching the Spider-Man movies in order. Solve the daily Crossword
