Ooh look, it's the Lamborghini Temerario GT3!
Spy shot captures Lambo's V8 race car going for a little jog Skip 1 photos in the image carousel and continue reading
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a lightly concealed spy shot of a camouflaged Italian racing car? Well, yes, it's that. This is a lightly concealed spy shot of a camouflaged Italian racing car: welcome to Lamborghini's upcoming Temerario GT3.
Exciting, no? We do not know much about the Temerario GT3, only that it is a Lamborghini built for GT3, that it's a V8 racer and not a V10 (obvs), and that its older sibling has left a mighty big shadow.

Its predecessor, the Huracán GT3, won a whopping 96 titles and 187 races between 2015 and 2025, including three successive wins in the GTD class of the Daytona 24hrs, and successive 12hrs of Sebring wins. Overachievers huh. Annoying.
Though, one suspects the Temerario's GT3 drivers won't really care. It'll likely be shorn of the triplet of electric motors that feature in the road car, which means there'll be a more manageable power figure on hand. The road car develops a stratospheric 907bhp, but GT3 regs will bring this down. You might like
Along with the weight. You can expect this 'more comfortable' Temerario to be entirely less comfortable in race trim, and from this lightly concealed spy shot, you can also expect a new aerodynamics package and a mighty rear wing.
Should sound fairly bananas too: the roadgoing car's V8 revs to an ear-splitting 10,000rpm and sends vibrations directly through the car's very bones to give the driver a thrill – what on earth will it send when it's free of electricity?

McLaren to Auction 2026 F1 Car at Abu Dhabi GP — Before It Races
In a motorsport first, McLaren will auction its yet-to-be-raced 2026 Formula 1 car during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend on December 5, alongside its upcoming IndyCar entry and 2027 WEC hypercar. The winning bidder will not only get their car — but also they will get VIP paddock access, behind-the-scenes involvement in development, and a leased 2025 display car to show off until the real thing arrives in 2028. McLaren is approaching this event as if it were its own personal Monterey Car Week — a stage for prestige, spectacle, and the kind of high-profile moments that cement a brand's legacy. It recalls the time a McLaren F1, once owned by tech titan Larry Ellison, dominated headlines. That was a celebration of the past, a moment steeped in nostalgia and reverence for an icon. This, however, is something different. A Radical Play in a Year of Radical Changes The 2026 McLaren — likely to be badged MCL40 — will be the team's first chassis built to the FIA's sweeping new regulations, bringing active aerodynamics, revised hybrid power units, and tighter energy deployment rules. In other words, it's an entirely different beast from today's car. While collectors usually wait decades for such machines to hit auction, McLaren is making its future hardware available now. It's part marketing move, part funding strategy — the same kind of brand-savvy play that sees McLaren Special Operations eyeing wild ideas like the possible comeback of the McLaren 12C to re-engage loyalists. Source: RM Sotheby's The Company McLaren Keeps at Auction This won't be a lone star under the gavel. RM Sotheby's will also showcase McLaren's 2026 IndyCar, its Le Mans-bound hypercar, and several road-going unicorns. It's the sort of ultra-exclusive catalogue where you'd also find things like the McLaren Speedtail with $250K in bespoke upgrades that stunned bidders earlier this month. Some might think McLaren's racing program and its exclusive road cars are separate worlds, but they're anything but. The link is intentional — every victory on the track fuels the mystique in the showroom. McLaren are selling an identity, a chance to wear the same badge as the cars that chase glory at 200 miles an hour. Why It Matters for Fans and Collectors For well-heeled collectors, this is the equivalent of buying the Mona Lisa while da Vinci's still mixing the paint. The winning bidder becomes part of the car's story from day one, gaining insights into how the team works, how the car evolves, and potentially watching it win — or lose — in real time. It's a shrewd way to bind a collector's ego to McLaren's competitive fortunes, and it might set a precedent. If the sale smashes estimates, expect other teams to follow. Just don't expect Ferrari to sell you next year's SF-26 before Charles Leclerc's even put his helmet on. About the Author Max Taylor View Profile

Lucid unveils off-road SUV that outruns a Porsche 911
By Published: | Updated: The Gravity X comes packs off-road upgrades: metal skid plates to shield the belly from rocks, tow hooks for deep mudding, and chunky all-terrain tires built for dirt and gravel. A taller ride height ensures it can clear uneven terrain without scraping. Distinctive styling sets it apart, with bright orange accents and topographic maps of Big Sur and Death Valley etched into the hood. It can spring from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. That's faster than a Porsche 911 Carrera, a favorite of Don't Start Now singer Dua Lipa. At its most recent earnings, the company lost $855.3 million while delivering 3,309 vehicles. The losses are largely due to the company's ongoing efforts to build manufacturing and hire employees. And, while critics have raved about the Air's range, ride, and plush interior, the sedan has never become a sales juggernaut. With the Gravity, the automaker is tapping into America's enduring love affair with large SUVs, a segment that continues to win over more US buyers. That demand isn't just for grocery-getting family haulers; it's also driving a wave of off-road-ready electric models from other automakers. The new Gravity X could join that growing lineup, including Hyundai's new XRT version of the Ioniq 5 crossover, Ford's Rally trim for its Mustang Mach-E, GM's Hummer, and Rivian's R1S. Meanwhile, Jeep plans to launch its rugged Recon SUV later this year. But all of these companies are contending with headwinds in the EV market. For years, automakers have built out EV lineups with help from government incentives and tax subsidies in the US, Europe, and China. But in Washington, political momentum has shifted. In July, President Donald Trump signed the Big, Beautiful Bill Act, ending the $7,500 federal tax credit for American-made EVs after September 30 . That shift puts pressure on automakers still ramping up production - especially those without enough vehicles to deliver to customers in the next two months. Lucid told Daily Mail it will extend its own $7,500 incentive to customers who lease a qualifying Gravity before September 30, saying the move will 'ensure an equivalent benefit remains available.' Pictured: Marc Winterhoff, Lucid's CEO. Meanwhile, automakers are rolling out EVs that were years in the making, even if they clash with the current political climate. This week, Ford announced details of a new EV platform aimed at slashing costs and sourcing critical minerals in the US. Yesterday, Acura revealed it's reviving its fan-favorite RSX - but instead of the tuner-friendly coupe of the early 2000s, it will return as a crossover EV.

What will they drive on weekends? All 5 versions of this GMA hypercar sold to one buyer
It's always fun when you walk into a clothing store and tell the shop assistant that you won't just take one discounted t-shirt, but five. Now imagine doing that while sat in front of the world's most revered automotive engineers, one who's just designed you a completely unique new car… because that's exactly what has happened at Gordon Murray Automotive. Advertisement - Article continues below At this year's Monterey Car Week, Gordon Murray Special Vehicles, an offshoot of the main company, has revealed the S1 LM bespoke commission – all five of which are going to just the one customer. Unlike the Le Mans GTR that's also been revealed in California, this commission is specifically designed to celebrate the first McLaren F1 GTR which won the Le Mans 24 Hours race outright in 1995, without the famous long-tail design. The S1 LM is based on the T.50, and GMSV's designers have used this iconic racer as direct inspiration for its design and aerodynamic package. This can be seen in unique elements that reference the original's front clamshell, roof-mounted intake and split rear wing. You'll also notice that there's no longer a rear-mounted fan, with more traditional splitters and wings used to generate its downforce. Skip advert Advertisement - Article continues below This also leaves space for designers to fit four traditional exhaust outlets, and a retro set of four round rear lights that mimic those of the McLaren F1 – although, unlike the original, these weren't sourced from a Dutch-built coach. The cabin has also been directly inspired by the original racer, although new switchgear and aggressive bucket seats are unique to this model. Under the skin, there have been more changes, with the Cosworth-built V12 engine upgraded from the T.50. Capacity is now slightly larger at 4.3 litres and it's targeted to produce 693bhp, which is up from the standard car's 655bhp. However, it'll retain its revvy characteristics – revving to 12,100rpm – and is connected to a six-speed manual transmission, powering the rear wheels (which feature wider tyres). GMSV says the car also has a more track-focused suspension set-up, plus adopts the same engine mounting system as the Le Mans GTR special edition. The British company has not revealed how much each of the units cost, but we can probably assume there won't be much of a buy-in-bulk discount applied, considering the comprehensive engineering required to complete the project. Full production of all five units will kick off next year, and as for the identity of the buyer? As you might expect, that's shrouded in secrecy… If you're after a racy road-going car that's a little more attainable than the S1 LM, check out the Auto Express Buy A Car service for all the latest deals ...
