Cunningham wants her Lady Bears to have fun in the WBIT
In our Bear Nation update.
Cunningham says she wants her troops to let it all hang out.
The Lady Bears will host Oral Roberts in the WBIT Tournament Thursday at Great Southern Bank Arena.
It's an opportunity for the senior laden Lady Bears to play another game at home.
Cunningham says the last home game on senior night was pressure packed because of trying to lock down a share of the Valley regular season championship.
She wants her team to have fun against the Golden Eagles.
'We're excited to play at home again. But I think it'll be back to that loose, free feeling. Hopefully we can let it all hang out. And not feel the pressure we felt in that last home game here,' said Cunningham.
Again that game is Thursday at 6:30 at Great Southern Bank Arena.

Fever star Sophie Cunningham in middle of 'really stupid' sex-toy-throwing trend
For the third time in an eight-day span, someone threw a sex toy onto the court during an WNBA game and this time, it appeared to hit Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham, who makes her Phoenix homecoming Aug. 7 in her first Valley appearance since being traded by the Mercury in January. The latest incident occurred in Los Angeles on Aug. 5 when the Fever played the Sparks. Someone launched a green sex toy from the stands late in the first half of the Sparks' 101-90 win, and it landed near Cunningham's feet after glancing off her left leg. Sparks point guard Kelsey Plum quickly kicked the object off the court. It's the third such incident in what seems to be developing into a disturbing trend following similar interruptions of WNBA games in Atlanta on June 29 and in Chicago on Aug. 1. "I think it's ridiculous, it's dumb, it's stupid," Sparks coach Lynne Roberts told reporters afterward. 'It's also dangerous, and players' safety is No. 1. Respecting the game. All those things. I think it's really stupid." Cunningham became a victim on the same day that she publicly lamented the idea of a player being hit by such an object being hurled out of nowhere. During her Aug. 4 podcast entitled 'Show Me Something,' she speculated about what the fallout might look like if a player were to be struck. "I just know how things go viral now, and I just know if that thing like even came from like the rafters ... and just slapped me right in the face, I could never, I could, that would be what I'd be known for life," Cunningham said. "And yeah, it could break a (expletive) nose." Cunningham said her mom even told her to beware of the possibility of being hit by such an object. "My mom, she goes, instead of like my good luck text, she goes 'Watch out for flying dildos tonight,'" Cunningham said. On Aug. 1, Cunningham sent a post on X asking fans to stop the nonsense. "Stop throwing dildos on the court… you're going to hurt one of us," she wrote. She made light of it by resharing that post after the most recent incident in Los Angeles with the message, 'This did NOT age well." Sophie Cunningham's sister calls out 'pathetic' WNBA after injury
The Indiana Fever truly cannot catch a break. With Caitlin Clark out for the foreseeable future, along with Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson gone for the season, now it's Sydney Cunningham who's injured. The Fever star was run into by Bria Hartley, who crashed into Cunningham's legs. The Fever vet was seen clutching her knee, and the update we have is the guard will have an MRI on Monday to see what the damage is. After that happened, both Cunningham's sister Lindsey and her mom Paula apparently had a lot to say. "@WNBA maybe you should focus less on fining players for commenting on your poor officiating & more about hiring officials that are able to call a consistent game and protect your athletes. Lindsey wrote. "Pathetic. Praying for you [Sophie]." Her mother apparently called out Hartley as you can see below in a deleted post, calling Hartley "a disgruntled player." What's the Sophie Cunningham injury update? We'll hopefully find out more on Monday after the MRI. Sophie Cunningham injury video of the incident Hopefully she's OK.

Sophie Cunningham left screaming in pain with knee injury in potential Fever nightmare: ‘Holy s–t'
The injury-riddled Fever, battling for a playoff spot, may have lost another key player to injury. Popular forward Sophie Cunningham was taken to the locker room with a knee injury after a collision on Sunday during a 99-93 road win against the Sun. 3 Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham (8) is injured on a play with Connecticut Sun guard Bria Hartley (14) in the first half at Mohegan Sun Arena. David Butler II-Imagn Images Cunningham, a key part of the Fever, especially with Caitlin Clark out due to a groin injury, was standing under the basket playing defense when driving Sun guard Bria Hartley fell into her lower left leg after making a pass. Cunningham, who could be seen yelling in pain, had to be helped to her feet and was later ruled out. As soon as Hartley made contact with Cunningham's lower right leg, the Fever standout immediately grabbed it and fell to the court. Advertisement Fever head coach Stephanie White didn't have any update on Cunningham but said that her reaction after seeing the injury was 'holy s–t.' 'Especially the way that she fell and how she was holding herself and how much pain she was in, at the time it's like, 'crap,'' she told reporters. Advertisement Cunningham had been assessed with a technical foul earlier in Sunday's game during a tie-up with Leila Lacan. Clark has been out for a month with a groin injury and the Fever are battling for their playoff lives, sitting in seventh place at 19-16 after winning the Commissioner's Cup earlier this season. 3 David Butler II-Imagn Images Indiana will also be without Sydney Colson (torn ACL) and Aari McDonald (broken foot) for the rest of the season. Advertisement Cunningham has made headlines lately off the court by being critical of WNBA officials, particularly when it came to how they called a game for Wings rookie Paige Bueckers. Cunningham's sister, Lindsey, took to social media on Sunday to express her displeasure with the officials after the injury, which could leave the Fever without another integral player.
