‘What the hell is wrong with her': Reddit reacts to ‘abhorrent' JK Rowling justifying any violence Imane Khelif may face
Author JK Rowling's latest comment on the bullying faced by Algerian boxer and Olympic champion Imane Khelif has left a section of social media furious. Rowling, who was one of several high-profile names who suggested that Imane was born male, has now suggested that if any harm is caused to Imane as a result of her accusations, then the responsibility will fall on those who lied about Imane's sex. On her X account, JK Rowling shared a news report with the caption, 'The psychological damage done to the young women he punched, while the entire world watched and the sporting establishment jeered, shamed and gaslit them, is naturally of no importance whatsoever.'
A user on X asked in response, 'If this poor woman is driven to suicide by your harassment, how will you feel?' In response, Rowling replied, calling Iman a 'he' throughout, 'If any harm befalls Khelif as a result of the truth coming to light, responsibility will lie solely with those who lied about his sex so that he could carry on endangering young women and stripping them of their rightful honours in front of the world's media.'
This tweet made its way on Reddit, where several users on the platform slammed the author for making such an insensitive remark. One user commented, 'Imane was born a woman, though, what the f*** is she yapping about? How misogynistic do you have to be to call a non-feminine woman a man? This freak is a disgrace.' Another said, 'It's unfathomable that HBO will want to work with her after this tweet specifically. Yes they're all bad, but this really feels beyond the pale.' 'This is abhorrent. What a miserable, toxic human being,' said another.
A comment read, 'Pretty disgusting to say considering JK Rowling has admitted to suffering from suicidal ideation as well. This woman is a husk of a person that is completely devoid of empathy and humanity.' A user wrote, 'Rowling is despicable. Who knew Umbridge was her self-insert?'
Last year, Imane Khelif had named Elon Musk and JK Rowling in a cyberbullying lawsuit. Imane won gold in the 66kg division at the Paris Olympics. However, she faced a massive amount of hate on social media, with people accusing her of being transgender or being born male.

Argentina, however, were the better side on display in the second quarter and took the lead again two minutes into the quarter when Martinez scored from top of the circle, courtesy again a defensive error from Rohidas. While the Indians used the ariel ball to perfection, unforced errors and sloppy defending proved to be their undoing. Three minutes after the change of ends, India equalised through a penalty stroke conversion by Harmanpreet, his second goal of the day. But India's joy was shortlived as 60 seconds later another defensive lapse cost the Harmanpreet-led side dearly when Tarazona pounced upon a mistake to hand his side the lead again. Argentina secured their first penalty corner soon but India defended stoutly. India pressed hard and secured their second penalty corner in the 39th minute but failed to utilise the chance. In the 42nd minute, Abhishek equalised for India, scoring from a rebound after Jarmanpreet Singh's initial shot from top of the circle was saved by Argentina goalkeeper Tomas Satiago. But it was heartbreak for India 18 seconds into the final quarter when Mendez scored to hand his side the decisive lead, courtesy another defensive lapse from the Indian backline. India had another chance to equalise when they were awarded a penalty corner in the 55th minute but wasted the opportunity. With three-and-a-half-minutes remaining and trailing by a goal, India withdrew their goalkeeper for an extra field player but that move didn't yield any result. India will again play Argentina in a return leg match here on Thursday.

ISSF World Cup: Manu Bhaker, Chain Singh reach finals but miss out on medals in Munich
Double Paris Olympics bronze medalist Manu Bhaker, finished sixth in the women's 25m pistol final, while Chain Singh finished seventh in the men's 50m rifle 3 positions (3P), as India continued to maintain a 100% finals appearance record, in the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup (Rifle/Pistol) in Munich. Manu rallied brilliantly in the second rapid-fire stage of qualification earlier in the day, to make a fourth individual world cup final this year, shooting a sublime 298/300 to finish fifth in the 94-strong field. She shot a total of 588. Chain too maintained his excellent form this year, returning a 592 in qualification to qualify sixth in a top field. It was his second individual world cup final this year, after having won bronze in Buenos Aires. The men's 3P was the first final of competition day two and the Indian could not recover from a score of 49.5 for his first five shots in the first Kneeling position, bowing out at the 40-shot mark with a tally of 407.0. The women's final which followed, had both the reigning Paris pistol champions from Korea, besides two top Chinese shooters, including Sun Yujie, who had won both the golds in the event in Buenos Aires and Lima. Manu started well and was in medal contention till the third series of five-shots, however a score of two-hits in the fourth, pegged her back. She fought hard, but could not finish beyond sixth, exiting after the sixth series with 20-hits to her name. Sun completed her hattrick with a score of 38, ahead of the two Korean champions Oh Yejin and Yang Jiin.
