Kota Kinabalu: On the conference, Tan Sri Wong said the three-day Bicam Global ADR Horizons 2025 attracted participants from 12 countries including the United Kingdom, China, France, Germany, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines and Australia. 'Your presence is a testament to our shared commitment to advancing alternative dispute resolution and building a more just, efficient and collaborative global dispute resolution landscape,' he said. He reflected on Bicam's journey from its official launch two years ago, the introduction of its Arbitration and Mediation Rules in October 2023 and the recent launch of the Expert Determination Rules 2025, the first of its kind in Malaysia. Wong said the centre's vision had always been to create a dedicated platform in Borneo that facilitates not just dispute resolution but also dialogue, education and partnerships across borders. 'Bicam bridges worlds. We are rooted in Borneo, but our reach is global. We are a Sabahan initiative that speaks the language of international law,' he said. 'We connect East and West, law and industry, and emerging economies with established jurisdictions. Our strength lies in this ability to act as a conduit.' He also recounted the success of the inaugural Bicam ADR Summit in September 2024, where a modest target of 100 participants turned into 176 registrations from 14 countries, including India, Austria, Japan and Brunei. 'That event showed the world what Sabah could offer. Chamber vows support for Kota Kinabalu High School' AI blueprint

Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah United Chinese Chambers of Commerce (SUCCC) has committed to supporting Kota Kinabalu High School's five-year artificial intelligence development blueprint, which aims to establish the institution as a leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI) education within the State's digital ecosystem. SUCCC President Datuk Michael Lui Yen Sang who is also Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCCI) President received a delegation from the school's Board of Governors led by Chairman Datuk Lim Kiat Kong, to discuss the comprehensive development plan coinciding with the school's 76th anniversary celebrations. Advertisement The centrepiece of the initiative is the construction of a dedicated AI Centre designed to create a sustainable AI education ecosystem. The facility will serve as a training hub to equip all students with fundamental AI application skills and enhance their digital literacy capabilities. Beyond the AI Centre, the fundraising campaign encompasses several infrastructure improvements including hall renovations, student washroom upgrades, running track and lighting system enhancements, basketball court refurbishments and the construction of a student recreation centre. 'This five-year AI development blueprint aligns perfectly with the National Digital Education Policy,' said Michael, who also chairs the school's Advisory Board. The school is seeking contributions ranging from RM1, 000 to RM100, 000 through its School Building Fund. Sabah United Chinese Chambers of Commerce targets the youngsters

Its President, Datuk Michael Lui Yen Sang, said SUCCC currently has 30,000 members statewide, including 1,000 in the state capital.
