KOLKATA: The national selectors will get a good chance to assess and pick India's whiteball squad for the Asia Cup when almost all big names line up for the upcoming Duleep Trophy tournament later this month.
The name of
Mohammed Shami
, featuring in the East Zone squad, raised interest as it remains to be seen whether the fast bowler has still got the steam left to deliver for India.

The 33-year-old Shami has been going through a stop-start phase of his career over the past few years. The pacer, however, is yet to throw in the towel. Although named in the Bengal probables list for the season, Shami did not report for the camp that is presently on in Kolkata.
However, the Bengal team management is optimistic of getting his services this season. 'Shami is doing everything to get ready for the season,' a Bengal team source told TOI.

The book was launched in the presence of Kirmani, former India all-rounder Mohinder Amarnath, former India skipper Mohammed Azharuddin, Telangana Labour Minister Vivek Venkatswamy and other dignitaries. Siraj said Kirmani has been a source of inspiration to the younger generation like him. "Sir, when you won the 1983 World Cup, we were not even born. It has been a motivating and inspiring story of yours. I have heard from many players, your reflexes behind the wickets were extraordinary. Thank you so much for everything for the Indian cricket team," he said. Kirmani praised Siraj for his performances, including in the Test series against England. "You performed really well. My congratulations to you. You have brought glory to the country with your aggressiveness right from the heart it was. I wish you every success," Kirmani said Kirmani was jovial and well-liked by teammates."The book is already released in Bengaluru. It is important that he released it in Hyderabad also.
