
Tree falls on vehicles in Bangsar residential area

PETALING JAYA : Two vehicles were damaged after a tree fell along Jalan Penaga in Bangsar this afternoon.
The Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department said it received an emergency call on the incident at around 3pm and promptly dispatched a team from the Pantai fire and rescue station to the scene.
Operations commander Ramli Mohd said the incident occurred in front of two houses, with the tree falling onto a Perodua Myvi and a Mitsubishi Triton.
'There were no casualties,' he said.
Ramli said the tree was removed from the scene following a cleanup carried out with the assistance of Kuala Lumpur City Hall.
The operation concluded at 4.38pm.

Southbound traffic was slow in Negeri Sembilan from Southville City to the Seremban rest area, and from Bandar Ainsdale to Senawang. 'On the northbound E1, delays are expected from Bukit Lanjan to Rawang (Selangor), Sungkai to Bidor, Bidor to Tapah, Tapah to Gopeng (Perak) and Perai to Bertam (Penang),' the spokesperson told Bernama. The Malaysian highway authority reported that the Kuala Lumpur – Karak expressway was congested eastbound from Gombak to Bukit Tinggi and from Lentang to Bentong. In Kelantan, traffic at Gua Musang-Kuala Lipis and Terengganu-Kelantan via Pasir Puteh was reported to be smooth as of 9.30pm, following minor congestion earlier in the evening.

Woman breaks arm as motorbike catches fire in three-vehicle crash on North-South Expressway near Sungkai
IPOH, June 8 — An Orang Asli woman was injured after the motorcycle she was riding caught fire following a crash involving two other vehicles at Kilometre 342.0 of the North-South Expressway southbound near Sungkai this morning. The 25-year-old victim sustained minor injuries, including a broken arm and cuts on several parts of her body. She was taken to Tapah Hospital for further treatment. Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said an emergency call came through at 6.51 am before six firefighters were dispatched to the scene. 'Upon arriving, we found that the fire involved a Yamaha LC motorcycle, which had been in a collision with two cars, a Proton Waja and a Toyota Altis,' he said in a statement today. He said the firefighters applied the RECEO concept (rescue, exposure, confinement, extinguishment, and overhaul) to bring the fire under control and completely extinguish it, adding that the operation concluded at 7.38 am. — Bernama

Traffic flows smoothly nationwide on Aidiladha morning, slight increase at Gombak Toll Plaza
KUALA LUMPUR, June 7 — Traffic on all major highways nationwide on the morning of the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration is reported to be smooth-flowing and under control, despite a slight increase in the number of vehicles at the Gombak Toll Plaza of the KL-Karak Expressway. A Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) spokesman said traffic is smooth flowing on the North-South Expressway (PLUS), the East Coast Highway (LPT) 1 and 2 as well as all toll roads around the Klang Valley. He added that 30 smart lanes have been activated along the PLUS Highway today to maintain smooth traffic flow. The public can get the latest traffic updates via the toll-free PLUSLine at 1-800-88-0000, the X account @plustrafik or the LLM line at 1-800-88-7752 and the X account @llmtrafik.
