Notre Dame 2026 running back commit Jonaz Walton has shut his recruitment down
Notre Dame football has multiple prospects on campus this weekend for official visits, both committed to the Irish and uncommitted.
One of the verbals currently in South Bend is running back Jonaz Walton. The 5-foot, 10-inch and 205-pounder committed to Notre Dame just over a month ago, and was still talking with others schools. That won't be the case going forward, as On3's Mike Singer is reporting that Walton has shut his recruitment down and won't speak with other schools.
Walton went on the say that 'there's no doubt in my mind about my decision, and I'm not communicating with any schools.' This is great news for Notre Dame, as one of its goals with the current commits was to make sure they weren't wavering.
It looks like it was a mission accomplished for the Irish with Walton this weekend, as he becomes one of many who have locked themselves into being part of Notre Dame's 2026 recruiting class.

NBC announces broadcast teams for 2025 Notre Dame Football games
It's year 35 of Notre Dame on NBC, and we have seen a large handful of different broadcast teams for Irish football games during that time. This year, the Irish will get something like a tag team cage match for its seven home games. From the NBC press release: NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL NBC Sports' unprecedented 35th season broadcasting Notre Dame Football features veteran play-by-play voice Dan Hicks, analyst Jason Garrett, and reporter Zora Stephenson as the announce team. Hicks returns for his second consecutive season in South Bend after calling Fighting Irish games from 2013-2016. Garrett, who is also an analyst on Football Night in America, had a 12-year career in the NFL as a quarterback and spent 16 years as an NFL coach, including nine as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. This will be the fourth consecutive season calling Notre Dame Football for Garrett and Stephenson.
