DJ Calvin Harris has welcomed his first child with his wife, BBC radio presenter Vick Hope, and described his wife as a "superhero".
The 41 year-old One Kiss musician, shared the news on social media that their son, Micah, was born on July 20.
The DJ posted a series of photographs on Instagram on Monday along with the caption: "20th of July our boy arrived. Micah is here!"
The Summer musician added: "My wife is a superhero and I am in complete awe of her primal wisdom! Just so grateful. We love you so much Micah."
The comments section was flooded with congratulations from fans around the world as well as fellow musicians including Jade Thirlwall and Craig David.
Some comments expressed surprise at the choice of photographs the DJ shared which included what appears to be the before and after shots of the placenta, the organ which forms in the womb during pregnancy, before it was steamed, dehydrated and ground into pills to be consumed.
Consuming one's own placenta, known as placentophagia, remains a debated practice with some claiming it offers health benefits.
Among the supporters was singer Becky Hill who posted in the comments: "Love to see the placenta!! Amazing we grow a whole new organ to provide life! Good job not wasting it either, that's some goddess magic right there!"
Hope, 35, is best known for presenting the BBC Radio 1 drivetime show Going Home.
She reportedly married the Dumfries-born DJ in 2023. He is behind the hit number one songs Sweet Nothing, Summer, and Promises.

Gary Lineker 'can't wait' to host new ITV show The Box after BBC exit

Former Match Of The Day host Gary Lineker is to present a new ITV game show after his exit from the BBC. The former footballer, 64, who left the BBC One sports show in May, said he was excited and "can't wait" to host The Box. In the show, 10 yellow boxes house a celebrity contestant who will be transported to unknown locations, before being released to face whatever game awaits on the other side of the door. Each week two players will face The Duel, a finale in which the loser leaves the competition for good. Lineker, who had presented Match Of The Day since 1999, said an emotional goodbye in an early departure from the broadcaster on 26 May. It followed a social media row after he shared a post about Zionism. Lineker, who was the BBC's highest-paid presenter, issued an unreserved apology for the social media video he shared, which led to his early exit from the BBC. Lineker said: "I can't wait to host The Box. I've always felt right at home in the box on a football pitch and whilst this is a different proposition, the fundamentals are similar. "The contestants will have to quickly and masterfully work out how each game works, whilst also trying to get ahead of the competition to take control. "It's going to be unpredictable and thrilling to watch, and I'm excited that I get to have a front row seat to all the action." The Box was first launched on TV2 in Norway in January this year. ITV's version of the show will be filmed in the UK later this year and air in 2026. Lineker also co-hosts The Rest Is Football podcast, which moved to internet sports streaming platform DAZN after he left the BBC.

JB Gill drops HUGE hint that JLS star has signed up for Strictly

JB has opened up to The Sun about the new series after starring on it last year JB Gill has dropped a huge hint that a JLS star has signed up for Strictly, as he opened up on the new series. The 38-year-old was a finalist in the popular BBC series last year, being pipped to the post by comedian Chris McCausland. The star said: 'Without spoiling anything for anyone, I actually know a couple of the contestants who are going to be on it.' Quizzed as to whether or not they'd be his JLS bandmembers, JB went on: 'Well I don't think Oritsé is doing it, and Marv would do it but he'd probably forget his routine by the time it got round to Saturday.' There has been a lot of speculation as to whether or not the remaining two JLS stars will take part, with both Marvin Humes and Oritsé Williams yet to do the show. Advertisement Aston Merrygold took part in 2017 and was partnered with Janette Manrara. He was considered a favourite to win, but was shockingly eliminated in week seven. JB expressed his disbelief that it had nearly been a year since he'd taken part in the dance contest, with it set to return in the autumn. Speaking on behalf of car insurance brand Tempcover, JB continued: 'I'd encourage people to have fun on the show as ultimately that's what it's all about. It is a competition, yes, but you're learning a new skill and it helps not to take it too seriously. Advertisement 'You're never going to be a professional in the amount of time you've got to learn the style of routine and the dance. I had fun and I never ever imagined getting to the final, especially with all the challenges I had last year.' JB took to the dancefloor with Lauren Oakley in the end, despite initially being partnered with Amy Dowden. Strictly's JB Gill breaks silence on 'tough time' for Wynne Evans after Strictly Tour axe – & admits 'I hope he bounces back' Due to Amy's illness at the time, the star had to make the switch midway through the competition. In his interview, the dad-of-two tells us he's still very much in touch with both Amy and Lauren. Advertisement He went on: 'Being able to dance with both Lauren and Amy was great. In fact, Lauren just messaged me earlier as they've started rehearsals now for the group dances. 'She said she's in rehearsals and she's packed her bags and got five pairs of socks which is like a running joke between me and her.' JB is a busy family and career man, with no signs of stopping. Not only is the start embarking on his brand new The Club Is Alive tour with JLS in November, but JB also fronts shows like The One Show, had his CBeebies show Down on the Farm, and a cooking show with his two adorable children Ace and Chiara. Advertisement Touching on family life with his wife Chloe, JB spoke about their summer plans and the fact that they are lovers of a game of shotgun when it comes to car journeys. He said: 'Three in ten argue with their kids about who gets the front seat in the car but that just doesn't happen in my family. 'My wife is always overruling the kids, the unofficial rule is that wives overrule. But yeah, it's great working with Tempcover, because everyone plays it differently and certainly over the years when I first started driving I played shotgun with my mates and the JLS boys too.' New official rules launched by temporary car insurance brand Tempcover, backed by research and JB Gill of JLS, help end the Shotgun debate for smoother summer journeys. Dubliner Anna Haugh set for new series of MasterChef

Dublin chef Anna Haugh will star in the final episodes of the new series of BBC One's MasterChef, reportedly replacing former presenter Gregg Wallace as the winner of the competition is crowned. Haugh, the star of BBC Two's Anna Haugh's Big Irish Food Tour, is no stranger to MasterChef, as she has previously appeared on Celebrity MasterChef and as a judge on MasterChef: The Professionals. She owns Myrtle, a restaurant in Chelsea, London that serves European food with an Irish touch. Haugh has also been a guest judge on Gordon Ramsay's US show Hell's Kitchen, and her other TV credits BBC's Ready Steady Cook and Saturday Kitchen. In 2024, she published Cooking with Anna. The final series of MasterChef to feature former presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode began on BBC One on Wednesday. In November 2024, it was announced that Wallace would step away from his role on the BBC cooking show while historical allegations of misconduct were investigated, and last month a statement from MasterChef makers Banijay UK and the BBC said they had agreed "Mr Wallace's return to MasterChef is untenable". In the wake of the Lewis Silkin review that saw 45 out of 83 allegations made against him upheld, Wallace issued an apology in which he said he was "deeply sorry for any distress caused" and that he "never set out to harm or humiliate". Torode was the subject of an allegation about using racist language that was upheld as part of the Lewis Silkin review, but the TV star said he had "no recollection of the incident" and was "shocked and saddened" by the allegation. Last month, the BBC confirmed the new series of MasterChef, which was filmed last year before allegations against Wallace and Torode were upheld, would be broadcast in August, adding that it had "not been an easy decision in the circumstances". The BBC added that "broadcasting this series is the right thing to do for these cooks who have given so much to the process". "We want them to be properly recognised and give the audience the choice to watch the series," it said. One of this year's contestants asked to be edited out of the series.
