Davis was selected by the Navy All-American Bowl Selection Committee, comprised of the All-American Bowl, 247Sports, and NXGN. Navy All-Americans are eligible for the Navy All-American Bowl Player of the Year Award, Anthony Muñoz Lineman of the Year Award, Navy All-American Bowl Defensive Player of the Year Award, Navy All-American Bowl Man of the Year, and Navy All-American Bowl Game MVP Award.
Only 100 football players receive the honor of wearing the Navy All-American Bowl jersey each year. The 2026 Navy All-American Bowl from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, will be presented live on NBC and Peacock.

NEW YORK (AP) — Giancarlo Stanton and Ben Rice homered in the first two innings and the New York Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays 7-4 in a game interrupted by rain for nearly three hours Thursday. On a busy trade-deadline day, the Yankees made a flurry of moves highlighted by the acquisition of two-time All-Star reliever David Bednar from Pittsburgh for three minor leaguers. Tampa Bay, also active at the deadline, lost three starters to injury during the game. Stanton hit his eighth homer since returning from tendinitis in both elbows last month for a 3-0 lead against starter Ryan Pepiot (6-9) four batters into the game. Rice launched a three-run shot into the Yankees' bullpen in right-center to make it 6-0. New York starter Marcus Stroman (3-3) allowed four runs and six hits in five innings. Yerry de los Santos struck out five in three perfect innings and Jonathan Loáisiga got three outs for his first save since 2022. Cody Bellinger hit an RBI single ahead of Stanton's homer. Yankees newcomer Austin Slater had an RBI groundout in the third for New York, which won for the fourth time in five games since putting Aaron Judge on the injured list. Stroman did not allow a hit until the fourth, when the Rays scored four times. Jonathan Aranda and Jonny DeLuca hit RBI singles, Taylor Walls had an RBI double and Junior Caminero lifted a sacrifice fly. Aranda became the third Tampa Bay starter to leave the game with an injury after he was holding his left wrist following a collision with Stanton at first base. Yandy Díaz exited with a bruised right forearm after getting hit by a pitch in the first inning and rookie Chandler Simpson came out with a sprained left index finger in the third. Pepiot was tagged for seven runs and six hits in four innings. Stanton homered after Walls lost a popup by Paul Goldschmidt in the wind and the ball dropped behind in shallow left field for a double. Red Sox acquire RHP Dustin May from Dodgers but fall short of a front-line starter
Associated Press BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Red Sox acquired right-hander Dustin May from the Los Angeles Dodgers at the trade deadline on Thursday, bolstering the rotation but falling short of the front-line starter the team was shopping for as it tries to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2021. 'I understand the frustration and the disappointment. There's not a lot of sympathy for how hard we tried to get deals across the line. I understand that,' Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow told reporters in a conference call. 'We believe that we have a really young, exciting, talented team and one that is capable of continuing to perform at this level and and get to the postseason. That's what our focus is on.' The Dodgers will receive minor league infielder/outfielder James Tibbs III and outfielder Zach Ehrhard for May, who is 6-7 with a 4.85 ERA this season. In his last outing, May gave up four runs in five innings in a loss to the Red Sox at Fenway Park. Breslow, who also acquired Cardinals lefty reliever Steven Matz earlier Thursday, said there was no one off the table for discussions. "We went into this deadline feeling like in order to accomplish what we needed to accomplish — what we hope to accomplish ... we couldn't go into this with untouchables. And we didn't," he said. 'We were willing to talk about all of our guys in the name of improving the team. It just didn't work out.' A member of the Dodgers' 2020 World Series championship team, May pitched in just 20 games over the next four seasons as he tried to come back from two Tommy John surgeries and a torn esophagus. He agreed to a one-year deal with the Dodgers last offseason worth just over $2 million. Tibbs was one of the players acquired in the salary-shedding deal that sent All-Star designated hitter Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants last month. The deal brought the Red Sox little in talent but saved them more than $250 million that was expected to fatten their wallets for the trade deadline and beyond. After missing the playoffs for three straight seasons and five of the last six – including three last-place finishes – the Red Sox were primed for a trade deadline spending spree. Despite trading Devers, Boston won 10 straight games heading into the All-Star break, has improved to 59-51 and entered the day in position for a wild-card berth. "The team has been playing well. The playoffs are firmly in view," Breslow said. 'We felt like we needed to do what we could to try and bolster the team. I think I've been pretty outspoken about that." But the acquisitions of May and Matz are unlikely to make the impact that Red Sox fans had been promised. The teams Boston is chasing in the AL East all made bigger moves to improve, with the Toronto Blue Jays acquiring Shane Bieber and the Yankees picking up relievers Camilo Doval, David Bednar and Jake Bird as well as outfielder Austin Slater, third baseman Ryan McMahon and infielder Amed Rosario. Seattle, which entered the day 1 1/2 games behind Boston in the wild-card race, landed slugger Eugenio Suarez — perhaps the top prize of the deadline. 'We can't ignore what other teams are doing,' Breslow said. 'Ultimately, we're all going to be defined by what happens from tomorrow through our last game of the season, and eventually the playoffs. I think it's really easy to sit here today and evaluate the trades that were made and how much better we think teams got on paper. Ultimately, those questions are going to be answered for us." The Red Sox acquired Matz, who is 5-2 with a 3.44 ERA in 32 games this season, mostly in relief, from St. Louis in exchange for minor league infielder Blaze Jordan. Jordan, 22, is batting .298 with six homers and 25 RBIs at Triple-A Worcester this season, having also spent time in Double-A. The Giants traded Tibbs to Boston on June 15 in a package for Devers. The Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons are officially at odds, with the latter holding in while waiting for Jerry Jones and Co. to negotiate a contract extension. At times this offseason, it seemed as though the two sides might be able to reach a deal without protracted negotiations or hard feelings. However, that's not really how the Cowboys roll. For yet another summer, Dallas is engaged in a public battle with one of its best players. Two years ago, Zack Martin held out until he agreed with a reworked deal in mid-August; last offseason, it was top wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott, whose negotiations lasted until Aug. 26 and Sept. 8, respectively, before they signed some of the richest deals at their positions. With Prescott having dealt with something similar just last year, he signaled support for Parsons when speaking with the media. 'I think Micah is doing a helluva job with being here,' Prescott said, via the Dallas Morning News' Calvin Watkins. 'He's a great teammate, he shows up, not just on the practice field and being focused, being the camaraderie [with the players], [going to] dinner. He's not just doing it to sign off and say, 'Hey, Jerry, look at me.' He wants to be out there practicing and honestly I'm glad he's not. He can't do that to himself.' An interesting part of the Cowboys-Parsons negotiations is that there aren't any negotiations, not yet anyway. ESPN's Adam Schefter recently reported that Dallas hasn't offered Parsons a deal and, as a result, was not close in extending the All-Pro edge rusher. The long summer with no contract talk has seemingly frustrated both sides, with Jones taking an unexpected shot at Parsons for missing four games last season, while Parsons has repeatedly criticized Jones for not engaging with his agent, David Mulugheta. While the barbs will likely continue at least for a while, Prescott reaffirmed his desire to see Parsons sign a big deal and return to the Cowboys. 'That's the business of it,' Prescott said. 'That's the business of a holdout. I think he's taking some great steps in being here. I don't know if there's a correct way to handle it, to be honest with you. I will say that, I think he deserves to get paid. He should get paid and ultimately, going off the history from what I've seen, he will get paid. Hopefully it's sooner than later.' The Cowboys' first preseason game is Aug. 9, while the season opener is Sept. 4 vs. the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
