Jordon Hudson reportedly demanded content approval, partial ownership of UNC 'Hard Knocks' before NFL Films killed project
An offseason version of "Hard Knocks" was supposed to cover Bill Belichick as he embarked on his first season as head coach of UNC. We now know why that project fell apart.
Shortly before NFL Films and HBO were set to announce the docuseries, Belichick's girlfriend Jordon Hudson demanded both content approval and partial ownership of the show, according to Katherine Rosman of The New York Times.
Rather than hand control of the long-running show to the 24-year-old Hudson, who has made no shortage of headlines this offseason at Belichick's side, NFL Films reportedly opted to pull the plug.
Producers reportedly learned after the fact that Hudson was in negotiations with another production company, EverWonder, to make a similar series. Per its website, EverWonder has been involved in a number of sports projects, most notably the production of Netflix's Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight.
It had previously been reported that Hudson played an instrumental role in killing the Tar Heel edition of "Hard Knocks," with one of the show's executive producers alluding to her demands to be heavily involved in the production of the series:
'The conversation took a turn we were not comfortable with.'
Not even NFL head coaches or general managers are granted final cut of "Hard Knocks" seasons covering their teams, as the show is ultimately controlled by the league itself. Belichick's inclusion would have been new ground for the series, but Hudson apparently wanted control over what would have been a very loud message about how his foray into college football is going.
That desire for control has turned into an unavoidable narrative over the past few months, most notably when Hudson stepped in to nix a CBS interview question about how she and Belichick met. Questions about her involvement in the UNC program have become loud enough that the Tar Heels have felt the need to release a statement confirming she is not a school employee, but she is welcome at their facilities.
And given that the Times reported Hudson has told at least one person that she and Belichick are engaged, she may be in this for the long haul.
The other area the Times reported Hudson's involvement in Belichick's professional life is a number of trademark applications in his name. Literally.
Because the trademarks for the coach's well-known catchphrases, such as "No Days Off" and "Do Your Job," are all held by his old New England Patriots team, Hudson has reportedly attempted to pull a Taylor Swift and applied for trademarks reading 'No Days Off (Bill's Version),' and 'Do Your Job (Bill's Version).'
We'll see how that one works out.

Arizona takes down Tar Heels, forcing Game 3 of Chapel Hill Super Regional
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCT) — Saturday was Game 2 of the Chapel Hill Super Regional between North Carolina and Arizona. A trip to Omaha was on the line for the Tar Heels while the Wildcats looked to force a decisive Game 3. UNC hammered Arizona 18-2 Friday and jumped out to a lead Saturday, leading 8-6 after the top of the seventh inning. The Wildcats had an answer in the bottom of the seventh as they scored four runs to pull ahead 10-8. That score held up to be the final, forcing a Game 3 Sunday. UNC's Tyson Bass and Sam Angelo each hit a home run with Bass driving in three runs for the game and Angelo two. Walker McDuffie took the loss on the mound for UNC. Arizona got a home run from Tommy Splaine and Tony Pluta was the winning pitcher. Game 3 will be Sunday at noon with the winner earning a trip to the College World Series. UNC baseball's ace pitcher ties a program record in Game 1 of Chapel Hill Super Regional
UNC baseball's ace pitcher ties a program record in Game 1 of Chapel Hill Super Regional Jake Knapp just did something no other UNC pitcher had since 1978. The hallmark of every strong baseball team is a deep pitching staff, which the North Carolina Tar Heels are extremely lucky to have. Jason DeCaro returned to UNC for his sophomore season, giving the starting rotation a major boost with nine wins. Aidan Haugh is back, striking out 79 batters up to the Super Regional Round. North Carolina's bullpen is even stronger: despite losing Dalton Pence to the 2024 MLB Draft and Matthew Matthijs to an injury for the 2025 season, names like Ryan Lynch and Walker McDuffie give Diamond Heels fans faith in the later innings. There's one arm who isn't just the best pitcher in Chapel Hill, but all of college baseball: Jake Knapp. After missing all of UNC's 2024 campaign with a UCL tear, Knapp is enjoying a near-spotless campaign: an NCAA-leading 14 wins and 14-0 win-loss record, a North Carolina-best 2.02 earned run average and 88 strikeouts. During the Diamond Heels' 18-2 drubbing of Arizona on Friday, in Game 1 of the Chapel Hill Super Regional, Knapp picked up his 14th win. In the process, Knapp tied Greg Norris for the most wins by a UNC pitcher – in a single season. To make Knapp's victory even sweeter, he tied the program record in his last home start – in front of the Tar Heel faithful. Knapp hurled seven innings and escaped early trouble, only allowing two runs across seven innings. Knapp worked around nine hits and only struck out three batters, then handed the baseball over to Tom Chimelewski for two nearly-spotless innings. If North Carolina advances to the College World Series, there's a strong chance Knapp breaks the single-season record for wins by a pitcher. I'm sure Knapp would rather the Diamond Heels win the CWS, regardless of how he continues to perform, but the new record would be a sweet second. What channel is UNC-Arizona on? Time, TV schedule for Chapel Hill Super Regional Game 2
What channel is UNC-Arizona on? Time, TV schedule for Chapel Hill Super Regional Game 2 Here's all the broadcasting information you need to know for Game 2 of the Chapel Hill Super Regional between UNC and Arizona. The North Carolina Tar Heels and Arizona Wildcats faced off Friday afternoon in the Chapel Hill Super Regional from Boshamer Stadium, with each baseball program looking to inch one step closer to the College World Series. UNC entered Game 1 off a dominant, 14-4 victory over Oklahoma in Monday's winner-take all game of the Chapel Hill Regional. Arizona entered Game 1 red-hot, having previously won its last eight contests. Something had to give – and one team left fighting for its life. Thanks to scoring eight runs in the first two innings against Wildcats starter Owen Kramkowski, North Carolina left their home field ecstatic with an obliterating, 18-2 victory. Arizona (42-19) actually started the scoring part in its half of the first inning, thanks to an Adonis Guzman single. Guzman was a lone bright spot for the Wildcats on Friday, hitting a perfect 4-for-4. The Diamond Heels quick punched back in their half of the first inning, tying the score on a Luke Stevenson single. Gavin Gallaher continued his tear with an ensuing single, giving UNC a 2-1 lead it never relinquished, while Hunter Stokely delivered a 3-run home run for the eventual, game-winning runs. Though offense was the name of North Carolina's game, we need to give Jake Knapp his flowers. The Diamond Heels' ace escaped some early trouble, allowing just two runs through seven innings. If UNC can replicate some of Friday's success during Game 2 Saturday, it'll be heading to Omaha for the second-consecutive season. If the Wildcats win, there will be a winner-take all Game 3 on Sunday. Are you lucky enough to watch Game 2 in person? Have a blast and continue filling the stands with Carolina Blue. If you're watching on TV, your favorite streaming device, listening on the radio or placing bets like most fans, keep reading below for more broadcast information. The fact North Carolina embarrassed Arizona, which entered as arguably the hottest team in college baseball, means the Chapel Hill Super Regional could be over fairly quickly. I think the Wildcats respond with a valiant effort on Saturday, making it more of a game. The Diamond Heels, buzzing with excitement and determined to get back to Omaha, win again and send The Bosh into a cheering frenzy.
