'While he remains hopeful and is working closely with his medical team on a treatment plan, this is a challenging time for Tristan and his family,' a representative said via statement. 'As they face both the emotional and physical burdens that come with this diagnosis, the family kindly asks for privacy and understanding. They are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support and love from their friends and family.
'Tristan sends his love to his fans and wants them to know how much he appreciates their loyalty and encouragement over the years,' the statement continues. 'This support means more to him now than ever. Future updates will be shared if deemed appropriate by Tristan and his family.'
Rogers is best known to daytime audiences as international spy-turned-Port Charles D.A. Robert Scorpio, the character he originated in 1980 and has played, off and on in the decades since. His most recent stint at the ABC soap was from 2019 to 2024. He also played The Young and the Restless' conniving Colin Atkinson from 2010 to 2019; his character on that sudser died off screen, viewers were recently informed by his son, Cane Ashby.
Rogers' other TV work includes The Bold and the Beautiful; Walker, Texas Ranger and Family Law. He also has voiced characters in The Wild Thornberrys, Batman Beyond, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters and The Real Adventurse of Jonny Quest.

Scott played a pivotal role on the ABC soap for decades. However, over the past several years, the character has often disappeared off-screen without any explanation. That was the case when Scott was embroiled in helping Ava (Maura West) switch out Sonny's (Maurice Benard) bipolar medication, but suddenly went out for snacks and never came last time Scott was on-screen was in August 2024, and it appears that's the end of the run for Shriner. Shriner took to X to reveal that his dressing room at General Hospital has been given to Jens Austin Astrup, who plays Kai on the daytime drama.
