Coronation Street legend Ryan Thomas on returning to show

The 40-year-old joined the soap as Jason Grimshaw when he was just 16 years old and continued playing the character for another 16 years.
During that time, Jason ran out on his wedding to Sarah Platt by jumping out of a window and saved young Simon from a fire after a tram crash. Jason arrived on the street with mum Eileen (Sue Cleaver) and brother Todd (Gareth Pierce).

Ryan has now returned nine years later after his on-screen mum, Sue Cleaver, announced her exit.
He says Eileen's departure from Weatherfield led him to decide now was the right time to make a comeback.
Ryan told Inside Soap: 'When they told me Eileen was leaving, it felt right to be a part of that storyline for her and revisit where it all started.'
After leaving the cobbles, Ryan spent a year appearing as Rafael Humphreys in the Australian soap Neighbours in 2018. He won Celebrity Big Brother in 2018 and Dancing on Ice in 2024.
And while he is no stranger to the soap world, the star admits he was nervous ahead of his Corrie return. He added, 'I couldn't sleep the night before I went back.
'Even though I'd been there half my life, I felt like the new kid in school. It took me half a day to get rid of the nerves.'

Ryan admits it was 'nice to see familiar faces' as he returned to the soap. Fans last saw Jason as he left Weatherfield for Thailand.
He returns home after finding himself 'struggling for money,' explains Ryan.
And while he now spends his days as a presenter, fronting 99 to Beat with brother Adam Thomas, Ryan says he has 'no regrets' about returning to Corrie.

Katie Price and Princess Andre 'feud' deepens: 18th birthday 'blow out' and 'jealousy'

Katie Price's podcast rant about her daughter Princess Andre's blossoming fame and TV show appears to have backfired on the glamour model as she's branded 'attention-seeking' FRESH claims over Katie Price's 'feud' with her daughter Princess can be revealed today. ‌ In a series of blistering revelations, insiders have accused Katie, 47, of: ‌ Missing a planned morning meet-up with Princess Andre on her 18th birthday to party abroad instead Trying to 'insert herself' into Princess's success as her daughter embarks on a fledgling showbiz career Attention-seeking behaviour on the eve of Princess's new ITV show to overshadow the launch. ‌ Katie has made a number of claims in the days before her daughter's reality series, The Princess Diaries, launches on ITV2 at 9pm tonight. It comes after Katie Price reaches out to Harvey's lookalike half-brother but fears 'he's too scared'. The mum-of-five said she was banned from her daughter's 18th birthday party and that her former management team – who look after ex-husband Peter Andre and Princess – did not want her on the show as they considered her 'trash'. Speaking on her podcast, Katie claimed: 'Princess was like 'I'm having a party'. And I wasn't invited because it was for 'filming'.' ‌ The mum-of-five said she was banned from her daughter's 18th birthday party and that her former management team – who look after ex-husband Peter Andre and Princess – did not want her on the show as they considered her 'trash'. Speaking on her podcast, Katie claimed: 'Princess was like 'I'm having a party'. And I wasn't invited because it was for 'filming'.' ‌ She added: 'The fact is there's stuff my daughter is doing and I'm not allowed to be seen at any of it.' But insiders claimed her version of events was far from the truth. They said the 18-year-old had arranged to see her mum on the morning of her birthday in June in London – but Katie failed to appear. ‌ A source said: 'It was all in the diary but then Katie claimed she couldn't make it as she was abroad. It was disappointing. 'For Katie to then say she was banned from the afternoon's filmed party when she was the no-show in the morning is just beyond belief.' ‌ The former Celebrity Big Brother winner was later pictured partying in Ibiza, and then Dubai. She also reportedly accidentally shared a happy birthday Instagram message to Princess – 36 hours before her daughter's big day. Insiders are perplexed by Katie's attempts to 'repeatedly insert herself into her daughter's career'. ‌ The model herself claimed: 'I have not been allowed to go on any photoshoots, signings or Superdrug openings or anything like that. I'm not welcome.' But the source said: 'Why is she making this all about her? What sort of person on the eve of her daughter's show, starts throwing all these grenades and believes she knows what's best, and should be given equal billing? 'It's Princess's life, her career.' ‌ A second source added: 'It's so unfair that Princess is going through all this when it is her show and it's about her… 'Pete keeps quiet about the whole situation with Katie and just wants to support his children.' ‌ Some question whether Katie could be jealous of her daughter's success. The source said: 'Princess's career is flourishing. 'It was already predicted before she's going to be the next Kylie Jenner and now she's set to become a millionaire by next year.' ‌ Three-times-married Katie's behaviour has puzzled some of her former partners. One source close to an ex told this newspaper that it was 'ludicrous' for her to have hit out at her former manager at The CAN Group. Katie, who also has son Junior, 20, with Peter, had claimed: 'I've always said over my dead body would I want her managing my kids. She doesn't like me.' ‌ But a source close to an ex claimed: 'When Katie was at the height of her problems, including her drink-drive arrest a few years ago, she approached her former manager for help. She was in such a bad way but her manager was really happy to help... She organised a job but Katie didn't end up doing it. To turn around now and claim she wants nothing to do with her is nonsense. She wasn't saying that at the time.' Friends say Princess, who lives with her 52-year-old dad, step-mum Emily, 35, and their three young children, loves her mum but that it had not always been easy for her growing up. ‌ In her new series the teen influencer lifts the lid on her tumultuous childhood, including how tough it was when Katie split from her third husband, Kieran Hayler, in 2018. She said: 'My mum, being heartbroken, didn't deal with it in the best way. 'She went through a dark time. It was hard for me because I saw things kids don't need to see, and my mum wasn't emotionally able to be there.' Princess read stories at the time about her mum, including her driving bans, divorce and bankruptcy hearings. ‌ She said: 'I would go into school and have people ask me questions about what they had seen in the papers and I would go home and cry.' The teenager's relationship with her mother is much stronger now. 'I'm still not really healed from what has happened but Mum is such a different person and has really fixed herself,' she said, before describing her mum as 'my best friend'. She added: 'She is so unpredictable. She just lives life and doesn't care, and I really look up to that.' The CAN Group said: 'We would never advise a client on their personal life unless asked and we have never stopped anyone seeing their families.'

Rylan Clark treats mum Linda, 73, to family holiday after health scare

Rylan Clark and his beloved mum, Linda, clearly aren't letting her health woes interfere with their quality family time. The former X Factor star shared a series of updates with concerned fans last month when Linda, 73, was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with a mystery illness. 'Mummy Linda isn't well sadly so I won't be hosting the show tomorrow,' the presenter wrote ahead of his hugely popular Saturday show on BBC Radio 2. 'Thank you to the emergency team at Princess Alexandra Hospital. Especially Tanya who really looked after my mum,' Rylan added at the time. Hailing his mum as a 'trooper', Rylan vowed to keep fans in the loop, revealing two days later that she had been discharged and was home to celebrate her birthday. The 36-year-old did not go into further details about his mum's hospital dash but continues to share snaps of their time together, given that she's acquired quite a fanbase of her own. Taking to Instagram this afternoon, the Essex-born star gave his 2.4million followers a glimpse inside their sunny getaway. Posing next to Linda—and towering over her—Rylan and his loved ones beamed, the sea providing a picturesque background. 'Gorgeous couple of days in Marbella with the mother and the gang ❤️', his caption read. Rylan's post also included snaps of their holiday meals and sweet treats, the sprawling pool at their villa, and a very smiley Linda making memories with her family. In the comments, fans were keen to shower the sweet mother-son duo with love. @mindfulmotionwithleerobson commented: 'So nice to see you and your mum and she is looking so well too'. 'Linda looks stunning and so glowy.❤️❤️❤️', complimented @jordan_shuttlewood. 'Your mum looks so well and happy, how lucky to have such a caring son, hope you both had the best time, 😎xx', commented @wendyreyns62. Linda, a British treasure in her own right at this point, recently joined social media herself—and she's already amassed a mighty 123,000 followers on Insta. On the platform, the Celebrity Goggleboxer posts pics with son Rylan, as well as fun clips from her outings. 'So we've finally done it. Linda is now on Instagram. @LindaClark Bear with as she gets used to it but give her a follow if you want. Can't believe this is happening 😂😂😂 x R', her famous offspring wrote as he announced her presence to the world of the 'Gram. It didn't take long for Linda to become a certified influencer… even if she is still getting the hang of things. 'Thank you for 100k followers! Still don't really know what it means but Ross is helping me', she wrote in July alongside a snap with her Gogglebox crew. Rylan is one of two Clark brothers, as Linda also has son Jamie. The This Morning host has warmed the nation's hearts with their bond over the years, whether it be their hilarious Gogglebox commentary or social media tomfoolery providing entertainment. In 2023, the Celebrity Big Brother winner revealed that Linda had suffered a nasty fall while on holiday in Marbella, forcing her to have emergency surgery before jetting home via private plane. Rylan wrote at the time: 'She's doing really well thankfully. All going good. Cheers for all ur messages x'. 'She's doing really well. Now chatting away with a lovely lady next to her. On the mend! Cheers for ur messages,' he added. What's more, Linda has had three major bowel operations over time and manages her Crohn's disease with several medicines each day. Crohn's is a chronic condition causing inflammation of the lining of the digestive system. Additionally, she faced death in 2018 after contracting sepsis and, at one point, was too unwell to visit his home. More Trending The pair also had to sit out of a recent Celeb Gogglebox series due to Linda's poor health. Speaking previously about his mum's unprecedented fame, Rylan admitted to the Daily Star that, despite the opportunities that come their way, they have to say no to most things. 'We've been offered hundreds of things. We got asked to do a travel show and got the chance to go here and go there,' he shared. 'Gogglebox is enough for us. She feels comfortable doing that show because we're just sat in my kitchen.' Got a story? They added: 'She's looking forward to getting stuck in and fixing it up to her perfect style. She's really proud of everything she's achieved and ready to lay down roots'. Daily Mail have contacted Ekin-Su's representatives for comment. Ekin-Su and Curtis met on this year's series of Love Island: All Stars in January and had been plagued by showmance speculation since they came out of the villa. Announcing the split on Instagram, she wrote: 'I wanted to share that Curtis and I have decided to go our separate ways. The couple had a turbulent 18-month relationship since they first met in the Love Island villa in 2022, going on to win the show's £50,000 prize money together. Shortly after their split she went on to star in Celebrity Big Brother but skipped the final after her management felt she was too 'vulnerable' to return in light of her turbulent time on the ITV series and subsequent drama-filled spin-off show appearance. A source close to Ekin-Su told daily Mail her decision to go on the series had backfired and she regretted signing up, especially so soon after her break-up from Davide in January. Ekin-Su was embroiled in a bullying row after she was booed by the studio audience, goaded by guest star Layton Williams and mocked by hosts AJ Adudu and Will Best, the latter branding her 'Ekin Boo Hoo Hoo', during her stint on ITV2's Late & Live shortly after her eviction. The Essex-based actress was 'inundated with offers' by multiple retailers following her landslide win first time round and signed the biggest clothing deal in the show's history with brand Oh Polly. The actress competed in Dancing On Ice in 2023 and then headed to the states to take part in their version of The Traitors. She was reportedly offered a staggering £100,000 for her appearance on Dancing On Ice. Ekin however became the third contestant to be voted off the ITV show however after causing controversy with her debut performance.
