One of main causes of damaged to the screen comes from the inside when heat damages the board or wires. The exposed wire rubs against the back of the screen and you get a black screen. To answer your question, I'm currently using 3 phones like a maniac haha. I kept my s23 Ultra to use solely for gaming, as that takes a toll on the battery. I got the Fold 5 by mistake actually, my wife wanted to go from the iPhone 13 pro max to the 15 pro max but then reconsidered, as it was no noticeable upgrade for her. But it was too late, the phone was already ordered so we either had to accept the iPhone or choose another phone, and I chose the Fold5 for me. I was skeptical, as foldables for me seemed too fragile, but I also wanted to try one out really badly. And it worked out perfectly. The issue with Samsung (and Apple) are the atrocious cameras, so I bought a Xiaomi 14 Ultra last year, to use as a travel phone, got it at 600€ only. Great phone but crappy software and the battery doesn't last even as much as the Fold. Now I traded in the 5 to get the 7, because the issues I had with the Fold5 were all fixed for me in the 7, i.e. the thickness and cover screen. The battery lasts me all day, sometimes even 1.5 days, charges in an hour, is just great. Is it overpriced? Absolutely. But that comes down to personal choice. If Honor or Vivo would have the same software and customer support as Samsung, then I would gladly switch to them as they have better hardware, but as of now, people need to look at the complete package. For me, personally, the software experience is more important than 1-2 hours of extra battery or a better telephoto camera. But that's just me. Rumor: iPhone 17 Pro will zoom past 5x optically, have Pro camera app

According to a tipster cited by MacRumors, the iPhone 17 Pro could have an 8x optical zoom camera, a new Pro camera app, and even a second, physical Camera Control button. The tipster is reportedly familiar with a promo film for Apple for the launch of the iPhone 17 Pro. So a level of skepticism is needed here. According to the tipster, the iPhone 17 Pro will employ a new zoom module with a physically-moving lens, which can go to different lengths. So it's either a Sony Xperia 1-like continuous zoom camera, or a Huawei Pura 80 Ultra two-focal-length zoom module. That will allow the iPhone 17 Pro to move past the 5x furthest zoom of the current iPhone 16 Pro. The next part of the rumor is a new Pro camera app that will launch alongside the new iPhone 17 Pro. It will reportedly be able to compete with staples such as Halide, Kino, and Filmic Pro. This ties in nicely with previous reports that Apple will boost the video-taking capabilities of its iPhone 17 models. The 8x optically-zooming camera was wild enough, but what comes next is wilder still.
