17-year-old killed in American Fork motorcycle crash identified as Timpanogos High student
AMERICAN FORK, Utah () — School district officials have confirmed that the was a student at Timpanogos High School.
The teenager — identified by relatives as Noah Scribner — was riding a Honda motorcycle on SR-92 and lost control while rounding a corner on Monday, May 12. According to the , the front wheel of the motorcycle broke off after the crash, and Noah received serious injuries. UHP said he died at the scene, despite life-saving measures.
'Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathies are with his family and friends and to all those who knew and loved him,' Timpanogos High School Principal Theron Murphy said in an email to the school community on Monday.

A relative of Noah has set up a * to help raise money for funeral and memorial expenses. According to the online fundraiser, Scribner was preparing to graduate and go on a service mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Alpine School District Director of Communications Rich Stowell told ABC4.com that a team of counselors was available at the school to talk with students after Noah's passing.
'When tragic events happen, we make sure students have resources, and our professionals are ready to provide that support,' Stowell said. 'It is something we do very well, even though the need presents itself at the most difficult times.'

The crash occurred on Thursday afternoon around 2 p.m. Two other people involved in the crash are said to be in stable condition. HOUSTON - FOX 26 has an update on a crash that occurred on Fondren Road on Thursday afternoon. According to Houston police, one of the three people that were injured in the crash, has died. Officials said a female passenger in one vehicle, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition, died at the hospital. What we know The crash happened at about 2 p.m. Thursday in the 9300 block of Fondren Road near South Braeswood Boulevard. According to HPD Lt. Larry Crowson, a Honda was speeding in the southbound lanes on Fondren near a Ford F-150. The Honda reportedly tried to avoid another vehicle that was coming from a side street when it struck the F150. Both of the vehicles rolled over several times, according to the lieutenant. The Honda crashed into a tree and was split into two parts. The Honda also struck two power poles, causing an outage in the area. The drivers of both vehicles are said to be in stable condition. Police had to close off the roadway for several hours following the crash on Thursday. California gun control bill that could ban popular Glock pistol sales moves forward
( — A bill that could ban the sale of the most popular handgun in the U.S. is potentially on its way to becoming law after it passed through the California State Assembly on Tuesday. Assembly Bill 1127, also referred to by many people as the Glock Ban Bill, was authored by Jesse Gabriel (D-Encino) and would prohibit licensed firearms dealers from selling guns that can be 'easily converted by hand or with common household tools' into a machine gun. Although the Glock isn't specifically mentioned in the written legislation, it falls into that category of firearms. New gun laws won't be enforced by Sutter County Sheriff's Office 'I am pleased to be presenting AB 1127, which will protect communities from mass shootings and gun violence by encouraging gun manufacturers to prevent the conversion of their firearms to dangerous automatic weapons,' Gabriel said during an Assembly Standing Committee hearing. He continued, 'Automatic weapons are exceptionally lethal and capable of firing hundreds of rounds per minute. They are illegal in California. Unfortunately, some semi-automatic firearms feature a dangerous design flaw that allows them to be converted to fully automatic weapons through an attachment of a cheap and easy-to-use device, known as a switch.'
