The former Atomic Kitten star said she signed up to the process for "money, publicity and therapy", before falling head over heels with her new man.
The TV favourite said she is no longer "ashamed" to want to be loved after realising she was "lonely" - saying: "I might have been married before but I was 18 when I met my first husband, get over it!"
Speaking exclusively to The Sun Kerry said: "I was adamant I was not interested, I just wanted the money, the paycheck, a bit of publicity and therapy. I was adamant I was not interested at all [in dating]."
Kerry admitted she was cautious that her dates were only there for fame after they repeatedly used her full name and asked for selfies.
"There was a lot of full naming, lots of dates where there were selfies and 'Kerry Katona', it's just not on, I can't be f****** asked," she said.
"I just wasn't interested, I was in my 'do it on my own era'.
"I think I had more chance with Jon [Lee] than I did with anybody else.
"I think when you're on a date and you get called Kerry Katona... let's be honest I've been called worse.
"The schedule was hard and full on. Being put on some s*** dates, that was really challenging, some of the dates I got put on, me and you Jon [Lee], I thought I was on the Undateables at one point."
The TV favourite said she had her "walls" were high when she first started the process but admitted the agents were able to crack her.

"I wasn't interested, I was adamant, my walls were so high, I think you'll see this journey... I'm going to get emotional," she said as she fought back tears during our chat.
Opening up about dating younger men on the show, Kerry insisted that age really is just a number - with the star having an 11 year age-gap with her new man Paolo.
Kerry joked: "I feel like 21, so who cares!
"For me it's energy, it doesn't matter who you are - an age gap is an age gap, as long as you're happy and have that connection.
"You could be with same person for the next 10 years and be miserable as anything, it doesn't matter."
But with the agents advice, Kerry revealed there was a turning point for her during the process.
She hit back at the stigma of women wanting to find love in their 40s and said she deserves her happily ever after.
"I thought I was happy on my own and they made me realise that I was actually really lonely," an emotional Kerry told us.
"I'm a very loving person and I think being in this industry and 'oh here we go again', I'm 44 does that mean I have to be on my own for the rest of my life, I want to share my life with somebody, I have a lot of love to give.
"I want to come home to somebody for a kiss and a cuddle.
"I might have been married before but I was 18 when I met my first husband, get over it.
"Everyone has seen these lovely relationships, but mines been documented, it doesn't always work out but god loves a trier.
"It's okay to not be ashamed to want to be in love and to be with somebody.
"I was actually more bothered about what the public perception would think of me, but I want to share my life with somebody, I want to be with somebody."
She added: "When you go into something like this, you really have to surrender yourself, you walk in for the deep chats and you think 'you've got this, you'll be fine', but they're so good at what they do, that you really end up thinking 'I didn't realise that about myself' and it's quite scary and it's quite surprising."
It comes after The Sun revealed that Kerry has found love again after meeting her new boyfriend on the show.
A source said: 'Kerry has bagged herself another toyboy - Paolo is 33 and Kerry is 44, but neither of them are bothered by the age-gap.
"Kerry looks better than most women half her age at the moment, and is young at heart.
"Paolo thinks she's super sexy and has told all his mates that he is the lucky one.
"Meanwhile Kerry loves the fact that she has a younger man again."
The source added: "Paolo's got an amazing body but he's also a sweet guy to boot.
"He's a single dad to two girls, so he has his head screwed on and is responsible.'
Former Atomic Kitten star Kerry signed up to the E4 show in February following her painful break-up with fiancé Ryan Mahoney.
Kerry announced their split in November 2024 and told fans there had been "a breach of trust".
The couple had been engaged for four years and Kerry had even said that he had "been like a dad" to her five kids - Molly, 21, Lilly-Sue, 20, Heidi, 16, Max, 14, and eight-year-old DJ."
Sources said Kerry had hoped to "find a new connection" on Celebs Go Dating - and she has done just that.
Last month, she was snapped having a cheeky snog with Paolo outside a hotel.
In their first public outing together, they looked very happy as they hugged and kissed each other in the street.
A source previously told us: "Kerry was heartbroken when she split from Ryan – it's taken her quite a while to get over what happened.
"But she was approached to do the show and is always up for a new opportunity.
"Bosses know she makes amazing telly and she's really hoping she finds a proper connection."

Inside brutal Made In Chelsea feud as 'snake' Jamie Laing leaves ex pals 'furious'
Jamie Laing has left his former Made In Chelsea friends 'furious' after allegedly causing them to be dropped from an upcoming Disney+ series, sparking outrage Jamie Laing is said to have "snaked" his former Made In Chelsea pals, leaving them enraged. The reality star turned podcast host and his wife Sophie Habboo are to star in an upcoming Disney+ series, which will document their "no holds barred" journey to parenthood. The couple, who are expecting their first child, will see Sophie's pregnancy and their day-to-day life filmed in a fly-on-the-wall series, as they attempt to move into their new family home. But it's claimed that the move has left their former pals in a state of rage. Sources have claimed that an argument has kicked off behind the scenes after a string of former stars from the E4 reality show believed they were all taking part in the series, which now focuses on Jamie and Sophie. Reports claim that Jamie and Sophie have been "snaking" their pals and have been accused of "hijacking" the lavish deal with the streaming giant, which also airs The Kardashians. It's said that Louise Thompson and her partner Ryan Libby, Millie Mackintosh and her husband Hugo Taylor, had also been in on the deal – and had already started filming. Now, it's claimed that they have been scrapped from the line-up altogether. "They had all been signed to the top secret Disney project, and then Jamie snaked them, is what we're being told," a source said. They went on to tell The Sun that all four had signed up and started as Disney had been wanting to build it's reality TV roster. "But then Jamie and Habs got pregnant. Disney agreed the focus should be on them alone because their podcast is going great guns, they've been given a Radio 1 show, and Jamie's ultra-marathon efforts endeared him to the nation," they added. The source went on to say that Louise, Ryan, Millie and Hugo had been left "high and dry". The source continued to claim that the four had turned down the chance to appear on the Made In Chelsea spin-off, Beyond Chelsea, so had "lost money." "They're absolutely livid and feel they've been snaked. There is huge animosity and it is all incredibly awkward - not least because Chelsea isn't a huge place so they are bound to bump into one another in bars and shops, it's pretty explosive," they said. The claims of another feud come after Jamie addressed his ongoing tension with his once best pal, Spencer Matthews. The pair had once been incredibly close, but in recent years, they have drifted apart, and the reason remains unclear, as dozens of claims have been speculated about. Spencer was left off the invite list for Jamie and Sophie's first wedding in the UK two years ago. But it was later claimed that Spencer had acted badly during their second ceremony in Spain. Speaking to You Magazine, Jamie called his fellow TV star "hard to get along with" as he candidly opened up on their friendship. "Look, what can I say? I love Spencer, I really love him so much, and I don't think he'd mind me saying this… um… look, Spencer's a hard person to be friends with," he said. "We were thick as thieves for a long time, but I think what happens is family and life. From my side, I have no jealousy towards him whatsoever. I only love and adore him more than anything in the entire world. I still consider him one of my closest friends, and I'm godfather to his daughter. But, yeah… I mean… You would have to ask him."

BBC Fawlty Towers cast 50 years on from brave comebacks to tragic health battles
The legendary BBC sitcom celebrates its golden anniversary next month, so let's take a look at what became of the core members of the cast September 19, 2025 should seem like an ordinary day but for the die-hard legions of Fawlty Towers fans t'll be a day they'll either give their cars a damn good thrashing or avoid being hit by a falling moose's head. That day will mark exactly 50 years since the first episode of arguably Britain's greatest sitcom first aired. The farcical exploits of Basil Fawlty and his dysfunctional team in their sorry-looking Torquay hotel have become the stuff of TV folklore. At the core of the show were the hilarious antics of hotel owner Basil Fawlty, portrayed by John Cleese, his patient wife Sybil, clever chambermaid Polly, played by Connie Booth, and the bumbling Spanish waiter Manuel. The idea for the show came to John after a stay at a Devon hotel with a memorable proprietor. That inspiration prompted both him and Booth, to whom he was married at the time, to write the play and bring it to life. It may have been off their air since 1979, but Fawlty Towers still left a huge legacy. It spawned a successful theatre production, fans worldwide still love the show and a reboot of the show created by Cleese and his daughter Camilla was announced in 2023. On the eve of its golden anniversary, we have a look at where the cast is now. John Cleese – Basil Fawlty The man needs no introduction. Cleese was comedy royalty by the time Fawlty Towers began thanks to his work on Monty Python and he would continue to enjoy immense success long after the show ended. At 85, he isn't slowing down and 2025 is proving a very busy year. He has written a book, Fawlty Towers: Fawlts and All, revealing his best memories from working on the show. He will also appear in a live Q&A in Bristol's St George concert hall on August 27 to launch his book and talk about the show's anniversary. In addition, Cleese will mark another golden jubilee for his other famous creation – Monty Python and the Holy Grail – with a Q&A tour across the US this autumn. He has been married to jewellery designer Jennifer Wade since his 2012, his fourth marriage following his break-ups from Connie Booth (in 1978), Barbra Trentham (in 1990) and Alyce Eichelberger (in 2008). He also has two children, Cynthia and Camilla. Prunella Scales – Sybil Fawlty Prunella Scales was already a star on the stage and small screen by the time Fawlty Towers began. Since her turn as Basil's long-suffering wife Sybil, the 93-year-old appeared in movies such as Howards End and The Hound of the Baskervilles. Those of a certain age will also remember her hilarious turn as Jane Horrocks' fictional mother in the famous Tesco ads from the 1990s. Fast forward to today and the acting legend is battling vascular dementia, with which she was diagnosed in 2013. But that did not stop Scales from taking on further projects. For instance, she appeared in the Channel 4 show Great Canal Journeys with her late husband Timothy West, while last year she made an acclaimed stage comeback at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival – albeit a recorded part – as Queen Victoria in the play Queen. Connie Booth – Polly Sherman While Basil was losing his head, Polly - the calm and ambitious waitress played by Connie Booth - was keeping hers. The genius character provided a brilliant foil to the hot-headed hotelier and her lines were a testament to Booth's writing skills. Not that she wants to hear much about it, though, as she recently admitted in an interview with the Radio Times that she felt like a "counterfeit" instead of feeling "flattered" whenever people praise her work in creating Fawlty Towers. "For half a century, I've been receiving praise for lines which John wrote. When people quote back words from the script, instead of flattered I felt counterfeit. I've had to say, 'No, John wrote that'," she said. Booth was married to John Cleese between 1968 and 1978. Since then, she appeared in a few TV roles before quitting acting altogether in 1995 to become a psychotherapist. Now retired, the 84-year-old lives in north London with her second husband, American theatre critic John Lahr. Andrew Sachs – Manuel Andrew Sachs faced his own dramatic moments during filming. While shooting the legendary episode The Germans, a fire stunt that went awry left him suffering second-degree acid burns. He also became the victim of an accident involving a defective prop handled by actor John, resulting in a severe headache. Despite these incidents, his role as Manuel endeared Sachs to millions, among them Cleese who heaped praised on him. He once told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "If you met him you would never think for a moment that he was a comedian, you would think he was a rather cultivated bank manager possibly retired, because he was quite quiet and poised and thoughtful. And then you stuck that moustache on him and he turned into a completely different human being. He was wonderful." Sachs tragically died in November 2016 aged 86 following a struggle with vascular dementia. His widow Melody passed away 10 months later. Brian Hall – Terry Hughes Brian Hall, recognised for playing hotel chef Terry Hughes, developed a close bond with Cleese throughout the series. In an amusing incident years after filming concluded, Brian was given a personally signed autograph from John as a joke; Brian cheekily responded that he'd rather have a "signed Rolls-Royce car", which prompted John to post him a toy car instead. Sadly, Brian succumbed to cancer in a hospice in 1997, aged 59. A year before his death, he had a defiant message for the Mirror about his illness: "Cancer is a bully and I hate bullies. This old boy cancer will get about as much change out of me as all the other bullies I've met nothing."

London Underground to run vintage trains on secret railway line that isn't on tube maps
LONDON Underground trains have been an icon of the capital for decades and now you can ride on an art deco one next month. To celebrate Railway 200 and Transport for London's 25th anniversary, the London Transport Museum is launching a one-of-a-kind event where the public can hop on board and travel back in time on a 1938 train. 3 Win one of 8 incredible holidays to the Caribbean, Mexico and Greece by voting in The Sun's Travel Awards - enter to win here Setting out on the Metropolitan line from Amersham station, the train will head to Harrow-on-the-Hill or Watford, depending on which day you attend. Also, one of the rides will venture through the 'secret' railway line, that is rarely used called the North Curve. This is a section of the track of the Metropolitan line which connects Croxley and Rickmansworth and bypasses Moor Park station, but it doesn't feature on tube maps. The journeys will take place from Friday, September 5 to Sunday, September 7. In the 1920s and 1930s, thousands of homes were built in numerous rural areas of north-west London, along the Metropolitan Railway (as it was known at the time). This was when the name 'Metro-land' first appeared in a 1915 publicity leaflet that aimed to lure aspiring homeowners to the new housing developments. When the 1938 train then emerged, it was the first kind of tube train to have all of its electrics under the floor, using the latest technology. The interior, though, is in a late 1930s style, with green and red seating and art deco light fittings. The 1938 trains were used on several deep tube lines for more than 50 years, making them one of the city's longest-serving tube trains. Inside UK's new £160m train station set to open in weeks The one that will be used in September has been completely restored and has four carriages. And in September, passengers will head through many of the leafy suburbs from 'Metro-land' that helped develop the Underground network in London as it is known today. The journey on September 5 will head from Amersham to Harrow-on-the-Hill, before heading back to Amersham. Then on September 6, the route will change to Amersham to Watford, via the North Curve, before returning to Amersham. Finally, on September 7, the train will once again head off and return to Amersham, with Harrow-on-the-Hill as the middle point destination. 3 Those heading off on the train on September 7 can also head to the annual Amersham Heritage Day in Amersham town. Matt Brosnan, head curator at the London Transport Museum, said: "Come and be transported to the golden era of travel. "Our gleaming 1938 art deco train is a rare historic gem that we know the public loves travelling on. "This is a rare treat – make sure you don't miss out!" Ticket prices vary depending on what carriage you travel in and which day you travel on, but prices start from £17 per adult and £7 per child. New London underground attraction to open in 2028 A NEW £120 million underground attraction called The London Tunnels is set to open by 2028. Located beneath Chancery Lane, the attraction will feature the world's deepest bar, situated 30 meters below street level. The mile-long tunnels were built during WWII to protect people from the Blitz but were never used for that purpose. Instead, they housed a spy headquarters where James Bond author Ian Fleming once worked, and they're believed to have inspired Q Branch. The project will transform the historic tunnels into a cultural and multi-sensory experience. It will also include a museum dedicated to British military intelligence and a WWII memorial. The developers expect up to three million visitors annually. There is also a UK train line 'that time forgot' that has been crowned as one of the best in the world by National Geographic. Plus, a gamechanger new budget train line is set to launch from London next year. 3
