‘Anti-Semitism is rising,' says Asmongold, blaming it on 'Israel' and the way they respond to its related criticism

Popular Twitch streamer Zack Hoyt, popularly known as Asmongold during his recent broadcast, claimed that anti-semitism is rising. While speaking about it, he pointed to Israel's policies and the way the country handles all criticism, especially ones that are related to the conflict of Palestine.
As per Asmongold, these are some of the factors that lead to the anti-semitism rise. Such comments made by Twitch streamer Asmongold during a recent broadcast drew both agreement and criticism across social media platforms.
Asmongold points finger at Israel amidst
rising Anti-Semitism
Asmongold, during his recent broadcast, bluntly stated that there's a
'massive rise in anti-semitism.'
He argued that the surge stems from varied factors, such as broader societal concerns like media messaging, mass immigration policies, and others.
However, he placed a major emphasis on the role of Israel. It was specifically contended by the streamer that the conduct of Israel in Palestine, especially since the October 2023 conflict, severely damaged the Jewish people's perceptions globally.
In the words of Asmongold,
'a lot of that anti-Semitism by is caused by Israel and the way that they treat any criticism of Israel as anti-Semitism.'
Asmongold even acknowledged that Anti-Semitism did exist before, but as per his beliefs, recent events just amplified it. It created a much more hostile environment. He believes it is something
'Hasan would agree with.'

He then added, Hasan is just
"obsessed with optics but, at the same time, he does things that are horrible optics,"
commenting on HasanAbi's online presence.
Asmongold further went ahead to criticize what he perceived as the defensive strategy of Israel. He claimed that the supporters of the state, along with the state, often conflate the legitimate criticism of the Israeli government policies or the actions of the military as anti-Jewish bigotry.
Such a tactic, according to Asmongold, backfires. Labelling diverse critiques to be anti-Semitic fuels resentment and offers a cover for genuine prejudice, allowing it to flourish.
Asmongold Anti-Semitism comments
brings in mixed reactions
The reaction of Asmongold was swift. Some users echoed his sentiment. They argued that the intense focus upon the
Israel Palestine conflict
, along with controversial actions like some proposed special laws in Iraq, brought some underlying prejudices into the open. In clear words, the comment read,
'It's not a rise it's just not being censored as much and yes the war has pushed them into spotlight then Iraq gov pushing special laws for Jewish ppl ppl don't hate the jews they dislike everything taking place."
Some users even stressed that,
'There 100% is a rise in antisemitism. Compassion for the genocide in Gaza is causing this. While I think it's important to acknowledge this, I also think it's important to not let this be the narrative. Palestinians are the victims here. Don't let Israel distort this.'
'The rise of anti semitism was expected. People who actually hate Jewish people are now finding out that a majority of the world is against Israel. And they're using it as a way to put forth their racist views,'
read another comment.
Echoing on to the topic and a lot of other factors, an X user said,
'You dont get to hate jews because a Jewish country's actions. I thought progressives would have learned how stupid this is around September 2001. But perhaps most weren't alive then.'
Conversely, some strong criticism was even directed at figures like HasanAbi, who were referenced by Asmongold. The user said,
'Hasan and Mike are part of that rise, IMO. Calling Jews inbreds and a demonic ethnicity don't them any favors.'
'Hasan wants things to go there. His goal is the complete destruction of Israel and all Jews,'
read another comment made against the streamer.
Some even believed and openly expressed that both Asmongold and Hasan are now compromised. A user comment made in this regard read,
'both Asmon and Hasan are slaves to je*ish money.'
The worst came in as the users started targeting Asmongold alone. A user made comment read,
'He should just come out and say he is Jewish, everybody knows already.'
The other said,
'Elevating Asmongold as a voice against anti-Semitism is wild lmao His chat is chock full of nazis at all times.'
'Poor Asmongold. Has to be a TOS boy for Twitch instead of expressing his true feelings. His true feelings being the plain and simple fact that some cultures & religions are better than others,'
read another comment.
With all being stated openly out there, the one thing or rather a recurring point in here, was a need to separate political criticism from bigotry.
The entire debate underscored the extreme difficulty in separating the Israel criticism related to the state's action from the prejudice against the people or the associated groups.
While Asmongold and some of the users highlight how the Israeli policies, along with defensive reactions, might inflame the tensions, others have just been warning against allowing legitimate outrage over Gaza to become a conduit for age-old hatred. The core challenge here remains addressing the legitimate grievances without actually enabling the harmful stereotypes.

'Will call PM Modi': Brazil's Lula snubs Trump amid tariff row; rejects offer to reach out

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has said he will confront Donald Trump's 50% tariffs head-on, while reaffirming Brazil's global standing by announcing plans to personally contact world leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. ' 'I will call him, I will call Xi Jinping, I will call Prime Minister Modi. I just won't call Putin, because Putin can't travel right now,' Lula said during a public event in Brasília, according to TRT Global. 'I will call Trump to invite him to come to the COP because I want to know what he thinks about the climate issue. I will have the courtesy to call.' Despite tensions between Brasília and Washington, Lula has made it clear that his administration would use every available avenue – including the World Trade Organization – to challenge Trump's new 50% tariff on Brazilian goods. 'In 2025, we will resort to all possible measures, starting with the WTO, to defend our interests,' he said. Trump's decision, signed into effect last week, comes amid his vocal defence of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro, who faces prosecution for allegedly plotting a coup to overturn the 2022 election. Lula has rejected any suggestion that the legal proceedings against Bolsonaro are up for negotiation. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Find your car's value online in minutes. Spinny Click Here 'Maybe he doesn't know that here in Brazil, the judiciary is independent,' Lula told The New York Times. 'The former president is being tried with a full right to a defence. ' Lula also said Trump's justification for the tariffs, supposedly to protect Bolsonaro and punish judicial overreach, was an attack on Brazil's sovereignty. 'There's no reason to be afraid,' Lula said in the Times interview. 'But at no point will Brazil negotiate as if it were a small country up against a big country.' Brazil's economy appears better equipped than most to absorb the blow, with Reuters noting that exemptions for key exports like aircraft and orange juice mean the tariffs would affect just under 36% of Brazilian exports to the US by value. Lula's government is also preparing aid for sectors hit hardest, and trade with China and BRICS nations now makes up a far greater share of Brazil's exports. Still, Lula warned of the political costs of Trump's unilateral move. 'Neither the American people nor the Brazilian people deserve this,' he said. 'We are going to move from a 201-year-old diplomatic relationship of win-win to a political relationship of lose-lose.'

Stanford University announces job cuts: 360 employees laid off over funding policies of Donald Trump

Stanford University recently announced that it has laid off over 360 employees over funding issues. Citing budget constraints, it alleged that the federal funding policies of US President Donald Trump prompted it to make this major decision, Reuters reported. An email response from university spokesperson to media reports on the layoffs stated, 'Stanford is in the process of making budget reductions.' The statement added, "Last week, many schools and units made staff workforce reductions. In total, 363 layoffs occurred." This comes after Trump administration threatened to cut federal funds for universities over pro-Palestinian protests against its ally Israel. In June, the Californian university claimed that in the face of "a challenging fiscal environment shaped in large part by federal policy changes affecting higher education" it was forced to make $140 million reduction in the general funds budget for the upcoming academic year. These budget cutting measures comes in the wake of significant funding freezes for the University of California, Los Angeles. The federal government alleged that the university authorities were unsuccessful in nurturing a friendly environment for Jewish and Israeli students, the situation at the campus pointed to hostilities towards US ally Israel since campus protests and agitations erupted after the start of war in Gaza
