'New at Costco! @cascadianfarm is now in Midwest Costco stores,' Laura captioned her post online. 'Lightly crunchy, made with no added sugar, and seriously delicious! The Costco value is hard to beat!'
And seriously, Laura couldn't be more right. At $10.69 for a 29.7-ounce resealable bag, the Cascadian Farm Organic No Added Sugar Coconut Cashew Granola is an undeniable hit. Now available at select Costco warehouse locations in the Midwest (and hopefully headed to more states soon), this powerhouse blend features whole-grain oats, date powder, coconut, and cashews—delivering 25 grams of whole grain per serving with zero added sugar in sight.'I'm so glad to finally see this at Costco—I always buy it at VONS and they're always sold out,' one happy viewer shared. Another added, 'We put it on Greek yogurt and eat it straight out of the bag… sooo good!'
Perfect with cereal, piled onto your favorite Greek yogurt, or enjoyed by the handful on a peaceful hike, this convenient pouch of granola goodness checks all the boxes. It comes from a brand that's been committed to doing things the right way for over 50 years—protecting pollinators, helping farmers build healthy soil and integrating climate-smart crops into every product. It's granola with a purpose—and it tastes just as good as it sounds.
'That looks delish,' another viewer wrote in response to Laura's post, 'Brb while I go get some.'
Which is exactly how we feel writing this up. Our love for snacks knows no bounds, so it's always a win when we find a healthier alternative to the usual lineup of chips, candy, and soda. They might not be the flashiest words, but in this context, 'USDA Certified Organic' and 'non-GMO' hit exactly the right note.Costco's New 'Slightly Crunchy' and 'Just So Good' $11 Snack Find is Guaranteed to Fly Off Shelves Fast first appeared on Parade on Jun 24, 2025

Illinois approves plan to lower proficiency scores for standardized tests

It will soon be easier for Illinois students to pass state tests. On Wednesday, the Illinois State Board of Education approved a plan to lower proficiency scores for standardized tests. The change means a significantly higher number of students will be considered "proficient" in subjects like reading and math. Currently, a third grader must score 750 out of 850 on the math assessment to be deemed proficient, while the new standard will drop the score to meet that standard to 72, Chalkbeat Chicago reported. Chalkbeat reported the new cut scores would place 53% of students in the proficient category for English language arts, and 38% for math — up from 41% and 28%, respectively. The changed stand State education officials said Illinois students perform above the national average. But the old standards led some students to think they were not ready for college when they were.

Woman says 2-carat diamond she unearthed at Arkansas state park will be used in engagement ring

MURFREESBORO, Ark. (AP) — A New York woman has unearthed a 2-carat white diamond at an Arkansas state park, a gem she says will be used in her engagement ring. Micherre Fox of Manhattan spent several weeks at the state park in July after deciding to forage for a diamond, according to a news release from Waymon Cox, an assistant superintendent at Crater of Diamonds State Park. The 31-year-old woman searched for diamonds during much of July in a 37-acre field that is part of the eroded surface of an ancient volcanic crater. It wasn't until her last day at the park, while walking, that she spotted something glistening at her feet. Park staff confirmed that the sparkly gem about the size of a person's canine tooth was a 2.3-carat diamond. 'I got on my knees and cried, then started laughing,' Fox said in the statement. It's the third-largest diamond of more than 350 diamonds found at the park this year. The park is open to the public and adults can engage in gem hunting by paying $15 per day. Park staff plows the field periodically to loosen the soil and make diamond hunting easier. Park visitors have found and kept more than 35,000 diamonds since the Crater of Diamonds became an Arkansas state park in 1972, according to park officials. The largest diamond ever discovered in the United States was unearthed there in 1924 during an early mining operation, park officials said. Known as Uncle Sam, the white diamond with a pink cast weighed 40.23 carats and was later cut into a 12.42-carat emerald shape. It's part of the Smithsonian's mineral and gem collection and can be seen at the National Museum of Natural History.
